I found at my local K-mart, 9497 Republic Striker-class Starfighter $59.99AU (which I did not buy nor will I) and 9416 Jabba’s Palace $199.99AU (which I am going to pick up tomorrow).

PS. Don’t quote me on the price of 9497 but i am 110% about 9416.

Awesome find with the potential rancor pit! I definitially think that the rancor wll be molded like the wampa was, just much larger.

LEGO will probably add some feature to it like a gate to reanact the Rancor's death. Maybe this means we will get a figure of Malakili!

I noticed that there is a topic showing a few photos of all(?) the new sets but most sets have not been fully reviewed yet. I bought and built the 9500 Old Republic set Sith Fury Class Interceptor so if you'd like to see a few more photos of that set have a look here.

It's a nice solid ship, I really like the underside of the wings being made studs on bottom. One thing that irritates me about some ships (eg new Mandalorian ship) is when the underside of plates is showing. Regarding the build, it was a bit repetitive making the same wing section 4 times (2 left, 2 right) for both the front and back, but not as annoying as building the same engine rocket heaps of times - as can be the case in other sets.

Darth Malgus is a realy nice minifig. The torso has identical printing to the armour piece where it's hidden by it. The sith troopers aren't as good as I first thought they'd be when box art first emerged, but they aren't bad figures at all. The helmets are very reminiscent of someone we know very well...

A downside of the set is I couldn't really find a good one-handed grip to pick it up. On the plus side though, all 3 minifigs fit nicely inside the ship. (Darth Malgus seated isn't great for the cape, but the cockpit can close with him standing & holding his lightsabre.) Flick-fires are on the side, fairly low key and no hassles with their use/inclusion.

I'm really on the fence about this set. I really love the overall design, the construction, and the figs are to die for, but it just seems so small for $90. The TIE fighter is about the same size, and it's half the price (and more figs!). I know that the Fury has more parts in it, but not twice as many! I really want to add this to my list, but $90 is just so steep, I'm having trouble convincing myself that its worth it.

It's about twice the size of the Tie Fighter. Closer in size/weight/mass to Slave 1 or the Avengers Quinjet. Still overpriced, but not quite as bad as it seems when comparing it to the Tie. The Republic Striker is closer in to the Tie Fighter.

Agreed. I recently bought this set, and can't be happier that I did. It is quite bulky compared to the recent Tie Fighter. You actually do feel you are getting your moneys worth.

I bought the 9500 off amazon.es for a mere £61, I live in the UK. Perhaps you might try looking elsewhere to buy it from to save yourself some money? I definitely feel at the £61 it is more of a bargain than just a decent amount saved.

It is a pricey set, that's the drawback. But I agree with the following comments included below. Although it takes up roughly the same amount of space, it's FAR more solid than the TIE fighter, which is essentially 2 great big plates attached to a cockpit. I took a photo of them next to each other (1: because they're the only non-small SW ships I have & 2: ) to get an idea of the difference in density of parts - maybe it didn't come through well. I would highly recommend the set if you're the type that buys half->most SW sets, but if like me you only pick up SW on the odd occasion wait until it's a bargain.*

* my 2 conditions for buying SW are 1: I want all or most of the minifigs, and 2: I can really use the parts or it's just not cost effective to BL the minifigs alone.

But on the rare occasion I'll pick something up if I really like the look of the model.

Great advice, thanks everyone. I think I'm going to wait and see if any good sales drop it down closer to the $50 price mark... even if it means waiting until Black Friday It really is a great set! Hopefully we'll see a full-fledged review in the next couple weeks.

It is possible then again anything is with Star Wars LEGO. But I think a new Sail Barge is more possible. And i think a new sail barge is more usefull then a Rancor Pit but both would be welcomed.

As much as we all like to speculate about the possibility of a Rancor Pit or even a Sail Barge, so far there have been no rumors or hints from official sources to confirm our speculations. I wouldn't get your hopes up just yet, but we may be surprised when more information on next years wave is released.

I can't wait to get Palpatines arrest. I'm a big Revenge of the Sith fan and this will go nicely with my new Jedi interceptors and Palpatines shuttle. Hopefully we see more of non CW Jedi.

I regret to inform you that I was at Brickworld, and saw not hint of new sets. I may be wrong, but Brickworld is more of a MOC display convention, and I don't think they really showcase any new items there (other than worthless Minecraft )
