StoutFiles Posted August 5, 2011 Posted August 5, 2011 All the OT sets are remakes, so it's probably the Tantive IV escape pod on Tatooine. Yep, it's a remake of the escape pod with R2-D2 and C-3P0. Since the cost will likely be in the $20-25 range, here's hoping they give us two sand troopers and a new dewback mold to make it worth it. Quote
sok117 Posted August 5, 2011 Posted August 5, 2011 All the OT sets are remakes, so it's probably the Tantive IV escape pod on Tatooine. So I take it we know it's an OT set for sure? (sorry but I don't want to read through all these pages ) I think that set might be too expensive to be an escape pod, however, I'm not gonna put it past TLC. Quote

I am interested to see how they will do the escape pod, hopefully it will be very detailed. I hope they also really step it up with the X-wing as they did with the TIE. And for the SE sets, we know one of them (the JSF), which is safe to say is accurate, since the rest of Mirandir's info was accurate. But what could the other be? If Mirandir is right once again, it will be OT. And speaking of Mirandir, thank you! Looks like your information was correct after all. Quote
djmangunz Posted August 5, 2011 Posted August 5, 2011 So, thoughts on the price range for the Geonosian Cannon? My best guess would be something $25-$50 range. Maybe someone has a better idea than me. And for the battle pack, I thought we would be getting an ARF trooper as well as an ARC, not that I am complaining mind you. I am excited for at least two of the sets. Quote
Brickdoctor Posted August 5, 2011 Posted August 5, 2011 So I take it we know it's an OT set for sure? (sorry but I don't want to read through all these pages ) Mirandir reported six OT sets, and not counting Droid Escape there are five. (9676, 9489, 9492, 9493, and 3866) Quote

LEGOMAN132 Posted August 5, 2011 Posted August 5, 2011 (edited) The planet sets sound like the Megablocs dragon egg sets they might come in the planet the sets from. The TIE might come in a Death star not a planet but its all I can think of, Naboo star fighter in Naboo, and soo on. I think I saw a pic of What might be the Geonosian cannon on YouTube it looked like the old one but smaller. Maybe in Droid escape we will get a new Jawa. Edited August 5, 2011 by LEGOMAN132 Quote
commanderneyo Posted August 5, 2011 Posted August 5, 2011 Thanks for this news, and thanks to Mirandir for not false information. The two CW ones sound good. So Gree will be in a Geonosis set after all? For once I hope Lego follow their random figures, as I want S3 Ahsoka and Obi-Wan by now. At least this means we will get at least another CW Geonosian for only one in 7957. So it's now ARC Troopers and not ARC & ARF? Interesting. Could be two from Kamino, but I'd say it could be Echo and Fives if there are two of them. All I know is, I need those ARC's, whoever they are! Hopefully these 'planet' sets will get better with time, those first three don't sound that nice, apart from the TIE one. Droid Escape will be a likely pass... Quote
TheBrickHitHouse Posted August 5, 2011 Posted August 5, 2011 (edited) What boring sets. Surely everyone has atleast one x wing, not a single 'new' set, we've even had a genosian cannon before The mixed battle packs don't bother me too much as I usually buy multiples anyway, commando droids have been on my wish list for a while now Edited August 5, 2011 by TheBrickHitHouse Quote
Jedi master Brick Posted August 5, 2011 Posted August 5, 2011 Ok Mirandir is right. Plenty of OT to go round at last . Oh micro figures, I liked the Harry Potter lego game and this will be great for a micro scale Moc. We need a Gree as he is a comander. Looks like a great year and the tie shows lego might use snot Quote
White Cat Posted August 5, 2011 Posted August 5, 2011 Strange, it seems everyone are getting excited about Commander Gree. Even though, there's is already 2 clone ep 3 with green marking similar to Gree few years back. But correct me if I'm wrong, there's no review about 7260 or if I ever saw some MOC that has those Green Troopers . Quote

It's just the January wave anyway, nothing amazing comes out in January. Don't say they're boring though, makes me think everyone wants Star Wars to be like the link below. http://www.google.com/m/url?client=safari&ei=TSk8ToD0A-ObsQe0zoerAQ&hl=en&oe=UTF-8&q=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v%3DwguG1S9gdqI&ved=0CBcQtwIwAA&usg=AFQjCNFI2duRQi-KgZIJBOM2o-pz_veT9w Quote
Mirandir Posted August 5, 2011 Posted August 5, 2011 Psssst..... Jedi News - 2012 LEGO Star Wars Rumour List Enjoy :) I can confirm that that is the list of sets that I have plus two (The Special Edition sets weren't included in that list). The new concept is called "Build the Galaxy" and consists of a planet, a display stand with a mini and a pilot minifig. The planet also comes with a "hanger" so you can it from the roof or whatever. I estimate that the planets are about 8-10 studs in diameter. 9490 Droid Escape is R2-D2 & C-3PO's escape from Tantive IV crashing on Tatooine. It includes R2-D2, C-3PO, 2 Sand Troopers, the escape pod and a swoop bike. 9491 Geonosian Canon is just what it says. Included minifigures are commander Gree (named "Cree" in the material I was given), a Geonosian Warrior, a Geonosian Zombie and a CW edition of Bariss Offee. The cannon is most likely $25, if TLG follows their usual pattern. Well, Mirandir said it was, and as we can see, the rest of his info is correct. I don't think the Hoth Game counts. Leaving one spot for the second SE set. No I wasn't counting the boardgame. Missing from that list is the Special Edition sets. one being 9494 Anakin's Jedi Interceptor. The other set is number 9495. and since All the other ones are out I might just as well give away this one too. So here goes: 9495 Y-Wing Gold Leader. Included Minifigures are: Dutch Vander, R5-F7 and Ceremonial Princess Leia. Quote

I mean, are they all studs-up, Lowell spheres with SNOT (unlikely) or new elements altogether? I suppose it'd be too much to ask for confirmation on pricing? Quote

Unfortunatly I do believe they're made from new molds. I think it looks like the planets are just two pieeces a top and an underside. Quote
StoutFiles Posted August 5, 2011 Posted August 5, 2011 (edited) A new Y-wing too? Going to be really hard to resist these ships even though I've got all the previous models. They are appealing to the OT fan in me... I am, however, pretty annoyed they're including a swoop bike in Droid Escape. Yeah, it's in the SE of IV, but it had nothing to do with the scene. This was a perfect opportunity for a new dewback. Edited August 5, 2011 by StoutFiles Quote

Brickdoctor Posted August 5, 2011 Posted August 5, 2011 Unfortunatly I do believe they're made from new molds. I think it looks like the planets are just two pieeces a top and an underside. Okay. I mostly expected that. Are they printed? Do they even have studs on them? It's unlike TLG to make such a large prefab sphere that doesn't have to roll without studs. Quote

october Posted August 5, 2011 Posted August 5, 2011 So sad, no ISD Don’t like the January releases. Nothing new or exiting, No jawas, no sandpeople, no greedo, no dewback no new playset. Quote
Ceroknight Posted August 5, 2011 Posted August 5, 2011 Y-Wing and an X-wing?!! The Mini+figure sounds very promising! Can't wait!! Quote
Brickdoctor Posted August 5, 2011 Posted August 5, 2011 It's printed and it has four studs on top Ah. That sounds like it could have some uses. It'll certainly be nice for those who do Brick Flicks and Comics and want shots of planets in space with ships approaching. So sad, no ISD Don’t like the January releases. Nothing new or exiting, No jawas, no sandpeople, no greedo, no dewback no new playset. But did you really expect this many OT sets originally? Before SDCC, I was thinking 2012 for sure would be a dominantly PT year. That we're even getting so many OT sets is a huge bonus for me. Quote
october Posted August 5, 2011 Posted August 5, 2011 @Brickdoctor, this was a great chance to do something special with all those ot sets related with episode IV. Quote
Emperor Posted August 5, 2011 Posted August 5, 2011 Wow, sounds great! Does the new Y-Wing look similar to the 07 version, Mirandir? Is it an special edition set? With the X-Wing being the 60$ set I don't really know where to put it... maybe the TIE is at 30$ after all? Quote
