Zzz Posted August 8, 2011 Posted August 8, 2011 (edited) I realise that, but these rumors are just so unrealistic that I can't even begin to belive them untill we have firm proof. from Jedinews: There will be a new range of ‘planets’ sets. These will each include a hollow planet, a buildable mini vehicle and a mini-figure. 9674 Naboo Starfighter and Naboo Pilot 9675 Sebulba’s Podracer and Sebulba 9676 TIE Interceptor and TIE Pilot Notable on this new list if that the battle packs will now mix heroes and villains into one box… 9488 ARC Troopers vs. Commando Droids 9489 Endor Rebel (x2) vs. Scout Trooper & Stormtrooper 9491 Geonosian Cannon 9490 Droid Escape 9492 TIE Fighter 9493 X-Wing 3866 Battle of Hoth (LEGO Games) What's so unrealistic about this? Sure it's very OTish, but after 2009 (Echo Base, Endor, Tantive) TLC knows what they can sell, also we had many CW sets in the past years. Tie and X-Wing are old, so is Droid Escape. Nothing wrong about updates here. I absolutely and only believe Jedinews, they were always right so far. Still, I'm wondering what happened to the Y-Wing and the Eta-Starfighter? I don't think they can top the last Y-Wing but I desperately need an E3 Eta and those hero minifigs in new looks! EDIT: Whooo.... 666th post! Edited August 8, 2011 by Zzz Quote

In the history of corporations, the ones that don't innovate are more likely to fail. I applaud TLG for trying new things. As for the names, how are they unoriginal? TIE Fighter is the same name as the old set, just like Droid Escape. Ewok Attack used the same name as the previous model. If you're skeptical about the names then you're really reaching. Quote

Yeah just like the Darthomir Speeder that ended up being the Sith Nightspeeder or something this year. Names are preliminary until we see/get the final designs. So are the figs included - remember Quinlan Vos? Quote
brickbuilder Posted August 8, 2011 Posted August 8, 2011 arc troopers! Arc troopers? What about them. Maybe your post should be a bit more elaborate next time. But still, I have to agree, ARC Troopers are awesome. Welcome to Eurobricks. Quote
KimT Posted August 8, 2011 Posted August 8, 2011 arc troopers! Let's talk! NOTE: Just stick to reporting such posts. Now we've wasted 3 posts on this odd remark. Thanks for reporting it Makes it easier for us to pinpoint the kiddies around here. Quote
augustus Posted August 8, 2011 Posted August 8, 2011 To be honest, I am surprised there are no new CW Jedi except Bariss. Perhaps this will change because IMO these new figs are big moneymakers. Quote

Thanks for reporting it Makes it easier for us to pinpoint the kiddies around here. I'm sorry, I didn't realise. It's just as it was his first post, I thought maybe he didn't know the rules around here. But I understand that the kiddies can get quite annoying on these forums. To be honest, I am surprised there are no new CW Jedi except Bariss. Perhaps this will change because IMO these new figs are big moneymakers. Well there are only 2 CW sets, and one is a Clone BP, so no Jedi there. Then the second set is a small one, so one new Jedi is pretty good. The only time we get more than one new Jedi in a set, is in larger models like the T-6 and the Frigate. I'm sure we will get more Jedi in the summer wave, especially if we get an AOTC wave. There are many minor charactors there that haven't been done yet, like Coleman Trebor, Evan Piell, Etc. And also, we are getting redone versions of ROTS Anikan and Obi-Wan in the Jedi Interceptor set. Quote

What is the drastic change? The BPs? They do conflicts in almost all other themes including City Police w/criminals. It is actually a smart move. The MINI planets? I don't think that is crazy. and yes LEGO is actually extremely unoriginal, you obviously never bought City sets, the last five Street Sweepers were all called Street Sweepers. and what else are they going to name the X-Wing and Y-Wing? lol I am very happy about the CW BP, I have been waiting for Commando Droids since the "Rookies" Episode in Season 1. I also wonder what the ARC will look like, hopefully blue or standard red markings. Also I hope they do not just give him ARC gear on a plain clone and call it an ARC. For the ARF Trooper, I wonder if they give it new markings or print? Quote

Brickdoctor Posted August 8, 2011 Posted August 8, 2011 Actually I meant the Droid Escape and Geonosian Cannon. The last Droid Escape was named Droid Escape, as has been said, and we don't really know what the Geonosian Cannon is, yet. Maybe in CW they really do call it the Geonosian Cannon. (see also 'Super Tank') Quote

Maybe in CW they really do call it the Geonosian Cannon. (see also 'Super Tank') In Lego's defense, there is not really much to call the Tantive IV Escape Pod, without being too literal. The Geonosian Cannon, on the other hand, is a pathetic name. It is actually called a LR1K Sonic Cannon, so even a "Geonosian Sonic Cannon" would be a much better name, in my opinion. Brickdoctor Posted August 8, 2011 Posted August 8, 2011 In Lego's defense, there is not really much to call the Tantive IV Escape Pod, without being too literal. I know, I'm saying they're not bad names. I'm on your side here. The Geonosian Cannon, on the other hand, is a pathetic name. It is actually called a LR1K Sonic Cannon, so even a "Geonosian Sonic Cannon" would be a much better name, in my opinion. What I'm saying is that we don't know if that is the canon it'll be, even if that is right now the most logical choice. CW has already shown us the writers have no qualms where introducing new things with bad names is concerned. Quote
Esvald Forceswoop Posted August 8, 2011 Posted August 8, 2011 This CW BP like than a Kamino Battle Pack (ARC Trooper, ARF Trooper). But how can relase a Kamino Battle Pack whitout an Aqua Droid? Why two Commando Droid? Why not one Commando, one Aqua Droid? Quote

Why two Commando Droid? Why not one Commando, one Aqua Droid? I haven't been in the discussions lately, but has it been confirmed that it'll be a "Kamino" BP? And I think it makes perfect sense for this new concept of "mixed BP" to have just an equal number of characters: 2 ARCs + 2 Commando Droids (the best-of-the-best from each side) will do. Throwing an ARF there and/or an Aqua droid will be too much of a Mixed BP IMO and defeats the purpose of easy army building which BPs are designed for. I'm also quite interested to know if the ARCs will sport Phase I or Phase II armour, considering the upcoming TCW Season is already on Phase II. Quote

I don't think Mirandir or BrickSpecialist mentioned anything about a Kamino-themed Battle Pack, and KimT's 2012 news topic indicates that the Battle Pack will contain one ARC and one ARF trooper, so no. Furthermore, there are only 98 pieces in the set, most of which I presume will go toward an AV-7, so it's not likely to include a Trident drill. Quote
