Smidy101 Posted August 16, 2011 Posted August 16, 2011 Well I you watch all the trailers for the new season, the clones are in phase 2 armour. That could mean there is a very good chance these will be phase 2 with maybe a new helmet mold? Yeah I'm really hoping that they will bring out the phase 2 clones too, however it maybe phase 1 and then in the second wave, similar to this year they may release the 'new' phase 2 clones basis on season 4. Smidy101 Posted August 17, 2011 Posted August 17, 2011 How do you mean "similar to this year"? Well this year the season 3 CW sets only came out in the second half of the year. In the early part of this year sets were from previous clone wars seasons. Quote
uboat77 Posted August 17, 2011 Posted August 17, 2011 this is the worst part of the rumors thread...when it stalls after a booming start  Just wondering, is this one (9675 Sebulba’s Podracer and Sebulba) one of the planet/mini/fig sets, or another rendition of the System set? We just got one of those amongst the last summer wave, and if it's a mini, i don't believe it will be the most beloved one, as the pod concept (imho) is not easy to translate to a mini format... Yes it is one of the planets set. Just below the first list is the second list (mini planet sets) and it's listed in full. Quote

Ki-Adi-Mundi Posted August 17, 2011 Posted August 17, 2011 Umm, seems to be the sour time until we get any more news, eh? We still have one placeholder for the upcoming wave - may we expect anything bigger. So far i can only see sets i assume to be in the low to mid price range. A Theed palace or Cloud City would definitely be breathtaking highlights of a somewhat 'average' lineup, wouldn't it? Quote
StoutFiles Posted August 17, 2011 Posted August 17, 2011 The last placeholder was for the Gold Leader Y-wing I thought. No way we'll be getting any large sets till the summer wave as that's how TLG operates. Quote

brickbuilder Posted August 17, 2011 Posted August 17, 2011 Well, planet collectibles are also how TLG operates? At least there is still one placeholder left. You mean the set that says it's "Unknown"? I already asked KimT, he said it is just a template for future 2012 sets (summer sets). Quote

It's smart business to release large sets in the summer wave so that kids will buy it come Christmas time. Releasing a large set in January means some kids would have to wait a whole year...by that time they'll likely move on to something newer. The planets are new but still fall in line with January prices and are low cost, low risk. Quote

The planets are new but still fall in line with January prices and are low cost, low risk. Well, that also depends on if they're going to stick to their January release date. Most of the time, only half of the releases get saved until the new year and the rest are out in December. Back in February, all of the sets at the 2011 New York toy fair said they were going to release in August and it was only Star Wars and Ninjago that were held until the actual release date, everything else was out in May (here in the States). For me, it would make sense to have the new Star Wars sets come out early, so you could hit the Christmas rush, but I know there's a lot of things that have to line up for a product launch to go off without a hitch. Gile (SRB) Posted August 18, 2011 Posted August 18, 2011 Hi there folks, you might remember me from 2011 rumors :) I forgot about this site, and now that i see all this great sets coming out next year,THEY'RE ALL GREAT!!! Quote
wokajablocka Posted August 19, 2011 Posted August 19, 2011 Im trying tink of WHY TLG is making Sebulba's pod again? Didnt we just get this this year? It dosent look USC so why? Its a nice pod but how many do we need seriously. The new x-wing is awsome as it can be made in to Red 5 or Red 6 similar the the previous x-wing release where you could make it Lukes Red 5 or Wedges Red 2 so you can start to make a fleet of x-wing to assault the Death Star. What the hell are you going to do with a fleet of Sebulba's pod racers? Quote

It's a mini, part of the new 'planet' line. Read the first page for the news Quote

Fallenangel Posted August 19, 2011 Posted August 19, 2011 (edited) I don't feel that a release of a unique vehicle in a new scale (we haven't had a MINI Plug-F Mammoth since 2003) at an affordable price including a minifigure that was only available in one large, pricey set merits a complaint. Certain rehashes such as this one might seem restrictive, pointless, and increasingly minifigure-centered, but they set new standards and keep the license going, and at the end of the day, I'd rather see twenty new T-47s than no Star Wars sets at all. EDIT: What redundancy manifests itself in only two years! Edited August 19, 2011 by fallenangel309 Quote
Brickdoctor Posted August 19, 2011 Posted August 19, 2011 Personally, I think that these three planet sets are TLG testing the waters by releasing smaller versions of larger sets with a nice minifig right after the large release to see which one people will buy. Quote
