It looks fake because the mini-figure is still in development plus why not a clearer picture.

"Why not more clear?" isn't the best argument, IMO, but the blur itself looks a lot like those from editing programs. Also, why do the guards were Panaka's uniform?

The packaging showed on Starwars.com a few months ago had the Star Wars logo in black/white not gold and the Naboo guards are Panaka duplicates. The guards had a wide range of different uniforms, I doubt LEGO would go this way. Totally fake.

If I is real you would think a pilot droid would be included with the set.

Not neccesarely, the CW AAT doesn't have one either. What I am missing though, is a confidential stamp

Yes, but I don't think they'd sell LEGO in an action figure box. :hmpf:

I'm skeptical. It seems like a fairly likely set, but the box art, so far, looks fake.

I'm fairly certain that the blue-and-white printing with Maul is standard for all 2012 Star Wars toys, not just Hasbro.

Personally, I don't think this is real. It seems odd that we would get a leaked picture of a set that we can only guess is part of the summer 2012 lineup when we don't even have pictures of the winter sets yet.

EDIT: Found the thread.

Everyone with a license use the same base box design.

Go to your toy store and compare Hasbro and LEGO Star Wars Toys and you'll see what I mean.

If this is the 2012 for Hasbro, then it's the same for LEGO.

That last detail has convinced me now, I think it's fake..

The reason why I said the unclear picture is important because it looks deliberately blurred hence the unreliability of said image and it is the best argument because from that alone you can tell its fake.

And YouTube has been a reliable source for leaked pictures since...?

My thoughts exactly.

And the whole coloring just strikes me as fake. When you see a lot of fan-made sets, you start to recognize a certain style of box art that just doesn't look right. I don't know how to describe it.

But who knows, maybe I'll be wrong.

There's still the fact that the LEGO Employee (albeit the one who blanked out all his posts) said that Queen Amidala was appearing in a Royal Cruiser set.

In addition to the 4 or 5 excellent arguments already put forth*, the figures clearly look photoshopped in. Especially the droid in the middle. What is that green blob? It looks like a toy dinosaur. What is that in the background?! Looks a bit like a bookshelf in someone's study. What's with the blue (table :hmpf: ) ground underneath?

* No confidential/preliminary stamp, box theme art is inconsistent to what's expected, picture is deliberately blurred rather than low-res, Amidala minifig is not being released until a subsequent wave - yet we have no pictures for the upcoming wave...

It looks less like a work of art and more like a photoshop knock-up.

I'm not convinced that this is legitimate.

What is that green blob?

Supposedly a Flash Speeder.

I don't even think the vehicles are LEGO..

The AAT looks like it could be LEGO, but it looks more like an Mod of the '99 set rather than a new model.

I'd like a dewback of course, but I'd rather they just kick the swoop out and lower the price. It's not even in the OT, it's a pointless addition.

Completely agreed. I missed the Cantina set (I'm hoping for a new version within the next few year), and swoop bikes weren't even in A New Hope!

Can't be - Flash Speeders don't sport the giant green lump that the thing in the fake picture has in the back.

Then it's the creator's really bad MOC of a Flash Speeder. :snicker:

Or it could just be the other engine with the speeder posed at an unusual angle.

Sorry, but we've got to put this one to rest (I've seen it mentioned elsewhere also). The Swoop bike does appear in ANH:

There appears to be a large cannon on the back and the good doctor might be right - camera angle causing a green blob.

Could this be test artwork - parts look real, but again....I'm in two minds....no watermark but the figures look real enough. Until we get further proof, I agree with everyone else - fake ! :look:

Said 'large cannon' should be gray, not green. The latter explanation seems plausible, though.

Further evidence that this fake picture is fake? The Amidala minifigures shown on the box art don't look like each other (that one in the 'New Minifigures' box looks a bit like Gunray ).

Actually, it's almost definitely Gunray.

Amidala looks too orange compared to what we've seen. There are countless other flaws here... the lasers, the intentional blurring, the droid at the front, the depths of some of the objects (look at the Panaka-clone in the bottom-left corner)...

The biggest giveaway is probably the Star Wars title bar. It looks way too large in proportion to the rest of the box, though it may be just me.

Hehe, before I gone to bed,the last page was 77 and it had 3-4 posts. Now,79 pages! I knew there was some kind of rumor around :D But,about the set,if it was real set,it would be cool. But,until some further proofs,FAKE.

For those who don't want to read the last pages, everything to make you doubt:

- SW logo should be blue/white

- Captain Panaka is mirrored from the box of Darth Maul's Sith Infiltrator

- Naboo officer/guard wears Panaka's uniform

- Blur seems unreal

- Confidential stamp is missing

- Amidala is different on the 'action part', than on the minifig section

- Droids look out of scale / shopped in

With that being said, I guess we can jut move on to another subject now
