TheDarkness Posted September 14, 2011 Posted September 14, 2011 Not really fussed on the X Wing or Tie Fighter, but will be getting alot of the Endor and Geonosian sets. I love the Sand Troopers but really don't need am army of them Quote
uboat77 Posted September 14, 2011 Posted September 14, 2011 It's nice to know there are AFOLs who aren't absolutely waxing lyricals over this. Same here! not liking much the overprinting on the troopers (but i was never a fan of the prequels and CW stuff, so i'm biased ) but i do like the new Sandtroopers overall aspect and, so far, only the Droid Escape and the Tie-Fighter look like a must buy to me... TheBrickHitHouse Posted September 14, 2011 Posted September 14, 2011 Please tell me I'm not the only one who feels that the printing on some of these new minifigures is ludicrously excessive. That ARC trooper is more decorated than the Boba Fett minifigure from 10123! Oh it's just 'terrible', how dare Lego ratchet up the quality like this! Oh for the days when a Luke mini fig could have been any character for all you could tell and less than 30 seconds was spent on the design! In the last 3 years minifigs have gone from an after thought to source of pride for Lego. I can't get a set without being dazzled by the quality and variation - finally every character we could ask for is getting made. Quote
kris kelvin Posted September 14, 2011 Posted September 14, 2011 (edited) Another picture. Probably the last. And Hoth battle game. Edited September 14, 2011 by kris kelvin Quote
White Cat Posted September 14, 2011 Posted September 14, 2011 (edited) Wow, thanks for sharing. Now we got a cheaper way to obtain the naboo pilot . So the planet are just a box to contain the mini ship, quite disappointed. Edited September 14, 2011 by White Cat Quote
Mr Man Posted September 14, 2011 Posted September 14, 2011 Another picture. Probably the last. And Hoth battle game. My god that Hoth game is awful, and those minis are a good way to get a Naboo, and TIE Pilot Which are great but why would you need lots of Sabulba? Quote
Praiter Yed Posted September 14, 2011 Posted September 14, 2011 (edited) Planet sets look pretty good to me - especially the Death Star EDIT: Got too excited to say thanks for the pics . - That's no excuse for bad manners though Edited September 14, 2011 by Praiter Yed Quote

Agree on the Hoth game, looks terrible. I'm not sure on the target audience for the planets, are they another tool for army builders, or aimed at people just looking for a cheaper set for the kids? If it is the former, well the price needs to be kept down, but if it is the latter well the choice of minifigs are uninspiring. Just an odd choice for Sebulba, regardless of how good the fig is Quote
StoutFiles Posted September 14, 2011 Posted September 14, 2011 Planet sets look pretty good to me - especially the Death Star Agreed, the planets look great. The figs and pieces will just be bonuses to me. How closely does Naboo resemble Alderaan from space? I'm hoping I can pass one off as another just in case they never make an Alderaan planet. Quote
Professor Jones Posted September 14, 2011 Posted September 14, 2011 (edited) So the tie interceptor is just a miniature version ? I thought it would be a ~500 pieces set. For now the only ones I'm planning to buy are the tie fighter and droid escape. The x wing doesn't seem that much better than the old one, just different. lightningtiger Posted September 14, 2011 Posted September 14, 2011 The planet sets look great, of course I would only want them for the figures ! They appear to come with their own stands and name plates. The Hoth game will sell well, and for one reason only.......two words - Star Wars ! Quote

Should bring down the price on bricklink of those lovely TIE pilots So far pretty much every rumoured set has been proved - okay, not the Y Wing. Yet. Quote
Aanchir Posted September 14, 2011 Posted September 14, 2011 (edited) I personally love the Hoth game. I can see Snowtrooper microfigs, Rebel Pilot microfigs, and what might even be (however inaccurate) a Darth Vader microfig! In the background, what look to be Chewie and Han microfigs are visible. I also can't help but love the tiny AT-AT, AT-ST, Snowspeeder, and Tauntaun. As well as, of course, various decorated tiles which, if past LEGO games are any indication, will be printed. Of course, the Hoth game will be the largest LEGO game, meaning even without a licensed theme markup it will be the most expensive. So I'm sure people will be hesitant to buy it if they haven't tried out the LEGO Games for themselves. Personally, I think it should be fun, just like this year's Ninjago game was for me. I find the planets sets underwhelming. I am not impressed by too many of the mini models in them. They seem bigger than ordinary mini sets, but without a corresponding increase in detail. What I do like about the planets is that they have studs on the top and bottom. Edited September 14, 2011 by Aanchir Quote
Walter Posted September 14, 2011 Posted September 14, 2011 My wallet is crying right now. All those minifigs look so detailed and amazing. I'm just alittle confused about C-3PO. It looks like his torso is redesigned. Now my K-3PO and C-3PO minifigures feel outdated. Quote
Cwetqo Posted September 14, 2011 Posted September 14, 2011 Are there any pics of Y-wing? It was in previous catalogue but not in this one. I think that its because its "store esclusive" (or TRU exclusive as some call it, but we know that these sets also appear in other shops, but not all) Quote
Mr Man Posted September 14, 2011 Posted September 14, 2011 How closely does Naboo resemble Alderaan from space? I'm hoping I can pass one off as another just in case they never make an Alderaan planet. Naboo vs Aldaraan. They are very similar. Quote
anakin66 Posted September 14, 2011 Posted September 14, 2011 hi, love all 2012 sets, and actually all the minifigs, except Barris (what's the point…) if someone from the LEGO staff would read, I'd say what my expectations would be : • X-wing's canopee : another design please !! sticker on front side of reactors? T-bars would definitely be better!! • Hope pilots Luke and Jek get additional haircuts. Also Gree and the Arc could do with a military shortcut but there in a BP there's not a chance I believe, too bad. • Same with the Tie, the old canopee was fine with me, not so outrageously bulbous! • R2-D2 needs a metallic grey head (as R2-Q2), could do with a third leg even though one can add it easily, I guess it wouldn't cost five cents to add. • dislike the Class-6 escape pod's shape. Not that LEGO did a bad job as you can check here but I stick to the one included in the Star Destroyer. So the set seems useless in itself. Shame cos' honey-colored C3 with "bare wires" graphics do improve the minifig. I prefer gold coated, though. As for sandtroopers, well wait-and-see, but I guess 9490 is the only set I feel could do without. I somehow miss a stormtrooper "all badies" BP (3 white + 1 sandtrooper) as they are highly priced on the net. If only 9490 added +2 simple white troopers… Or if the Endor BP comprised only one rebel, 2 normal troopers and 1 biker I think people would buy tons of packs instead of one or 2. Overall rebels should always be outnumbered !! But again younger kids like to get the nice guys. • in the planet collection, amusing for collectors or small gift for a young kid in a birthday party, but can't buy everything. • Hoth game, why not for a good gameplay with my son: at-at, at-st, snowspeeder :) -> only we would have preferred real size minifigs (also a good reason for BP collectors to jump on this) but SW/TLG marketing reason's, again… This 2012 line is great, even though I (and my son…) love CW and prequels as well, I'm more excited now than 2011's summer release. StoutFiles Posted September 14, 2011 Posted September 14, 2011 8 planets to collect! Tatooine Death Star - (Interceptor is bad choice, they weren't used till VI.) and predictions: Bespin - (Mini Cloud Car and Cloud Car pilot) Hoth - (Mini AT-AT and AT-AT pilot) Endor - (Mini AT-ST and AT-ST pilot) Dagobah - (Mini X-wing and training Luke) Yavin IV - (Mini Y-wing and Rebel Pilot Alderaan - (Mini Tantive IV and Antilles) Quote

Lobot Posted September 14, 2011 Posted September 14, 2011 It’s good to see some better photos of the new sets. I’m really impressed by the Droid escape & X-wing, definite purchases for me. I’d still like to see a dewback, but I guess you can’t have everything Quote

I'd say Bespin, Hoth, and Coruscant are pretty safe bets, and Dagobah, Geonosis and Mustafar are also somewhat likely. I'm not sure about Yavin and Endor though- they seem likely at first but remember that most of the action happened on moons of these planets, not the actual planets. But then again the Death Star was included, so I don't think it would be a longshot for moons to be as well. Quote
