Jedi master Brick Posted September 17, 2011 Posted September 17, 2011 The Y-Wing and Jedi Interceptor are the limited edition sets. I can't recall completely, but I believe at one stage, Mirandir said the mini-figures for it are a ceremonial Leia, Dutch Vander and some Astromech Droid... Yeah, would be nice to not to have to waste another book fig on that scene Quote
Emperor Posted September 17, 2011 Posted September 17, 2011 I'm stating to lose hope about this set. Mirandir was by far the first one to know all the sets correctly, which means he probably isn't wrong about the Y-Wing either. We haven't seen pictures of it yet because it is a special/limited edition set, but the set definitely exists. Quote
Zzz Posted September 17, 2011 Posted September 17, 2011 9495 Y-Wing Gold Leader. Included Minifigures are: Dutch Vander, R5-F7 and Ceremonial Princess Leia. The only set with only 3 minifigs it seems ! Is there anyone, Mirandir or someone else, who could tell if it seems to have more pieces / detail than 7658 ? Sorry to be such a pain, but I am a huge fan of 7658 and despite landing gear, I seriously wonder what they might have fixed with such a perfect set, that still not sells for a high price on Ebay / BL.. Also, it's kind of ironic to have the Lego Dutch survive the Battle of Yavin and meet Ceremonial Princess Leia ! Quote

Also, it's kind of ironic to have the Lego Dutch survive the Battle of Yavin and meet Ceremonial Princess Leia ! Remember, only Luke, Wedge and one Y-wing survived the attack on the first Death Star. But, Dutch was taken out by the man-in-black, you know who ! Ah, Lego-Lucas lets rewrite the history of Star Wars to make money bit again.....must be n exclusive set or second half release ? Quote
Lord Of The Fries Posted September 17, 2011 Posted September 17, 2011 Remember, only Luke, Wedge and one Y-wing survived the attack on the first Death Star. And the Falcon (if you count Han's late attack) . I know this is off-topic so I will say sorry now: Sorry . Quote
Fallenangel Posted September 18, 2011 Posted September 18, 2011 I was thinking about it and we usually get two limited edition sets in the first wave, so what are the two limited edition sets this wave? Please, read what's been posted before posting yourself - it makes the thread so much easier to read. The only set with only 3 minifigs it seems ! As I've said before, given the nature of Limited Edition sets, 9495 shouldn't be too different from 7658, which is great since the latter has appealed to so many people. It would be nice if they gave Dutch his headset back, though unlikely, since Porkins didn't get one. Seeing as he's already got a chin strap and goggles, a headset would complete the print. Quote
Housey98 Posted September 18, 2011 Posted September 18, 2011 I know this might be some minor detail I've licked up on, but it seem each set (excluding the limited editions) have only 4 minifigures, the cheaper ones and the more expensive ones. I'm just wondering if TLC are doing this to make it so people buy the sets for the main attraction rather than the figs. Quote

Edit:I know in the film he didn't but shouldn't he be wearing This? (We could do with the mould TLG ). Edited September 18, 2011 by Mr Man Quote
Fallenangel Posted September 18, 2011 Posted September 18, 2011 Edit:I know in the film he didn't but shouldn't he be wearing This? (We could do with the mould TLG ). That would have been nice, as they'd also be giving us a grey Y-wing and an Asian pilot: Racial diversity in the Star Wars universe is always appreciated. Too bad he ended up cannon fodder... I find it hilarious that minifigures of throwaway characters like Zev or Jek have received more distinctive face prints than the man who survived two Death Stars and led Rogue Squadron. @Housey98: Have you seen that ARC trooper? And those Planet sets? There's little doubt that minifigures are the selling point of this line. Quote
Cwetqo Posted September 18, 2011 Posted September 18, 2011 Again,Dose anyone have any information on the y-wing? I'm stating to lose hope about this set. I was thinking about it and we usually get two limited edition sets in the first wave, so what are the two limited edition sets this wave? I'v seen (unfortunately just some small ones) pictures of both. Jedi Interceptor has been allready posted (in dark green) and y-wing looks like 7658, but I think that it has solid engines (like CW version, but I'm not 100% sore, since pic was reaaly small) and for me it did not look good. I dont know why, but its just not so nicely designed like 7658 (similar was with new slave 1 - I still very uch prefer older version). Quote

North Lego Star Posted September 18, 2011 Posted September 18, 2011 Thank you Cwetqo for more information about the Y-wing. Did you see the minifigs that came with it? Quote

There's little doubt that minifigures are the selling point of this line. I fully agree with you there. Lego has surely noticed the secondary market for minifigures and the prices they go for and has come up with the Planets line to make some profit from the minifigure market. The first 3 in the line that we have seen are probably a test and I hope it goes well so that Lego can continue the series. Quote
Thego Posted September 18, 2011 Posted September 18, 2011 Does that guy have a name or a wiki page? That's Lt. Telsij, although Hasbro would have you believe it is Arvel Crynyd: Quote

The engines on 7658 were perhaps the funniest thing ever to build for me and if they didn't improve the cockpit a lot, there is no point for me of getting this then.. Quote
hachiroku Posted September 18, 2011 Posted September 18, 2011 (edited) About this set: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=5180943 Was it confirmed as fake? This the starfighter that Anakin used to travell to Mustafar in Ep.III but the Anakin's and Obi Wan's minifigs are from the CW. Edited September 18, 2011 by hachiroku Quote

I'm assuming you can't reveal your source? That's Lt. Telsij, although Hasbro would have you believe it is Arvel Crynyd: Yes, Arvel was the pilot who flew into the bridge of the Executor. Hopefully they'll include his minifigure with an A-wing someday. Thanks a lot for this. The engines on 7658 were perhaps the funniest thing ever to build for me and if they didn't improve the cockpit a lot, there is no point for me of getting this then.. "funniest thing ever to build"? Whatever do you mean? I would agree about the cockpit, though - the canopy lacks curvature, and the head area in general should be wider: The head of 7658 always looked rather 'puckered' to me... Orukaia Posted September 18, 2011 Posted September 18, 2011 Nope it's real, but hopefully it will change a bit. Hopefully it will change a LOT. It's a shame the entire cockpit/windscreen is still that horrendously ugly grey thing. Quote

Actually, I'm skeptical as to whether a brickbuilt alternative would look much better. There's a reason most decent Eta-2 MOCs use the SPUD. Quote

There's a reason most decent Eta-2 MOCs use the SPUD. Well, I'm not saying totally brick built, maybe just a windscreen piece where the windscreen actually is on the ship and a few other large custom pieces for the rest of the main body or something. It just kills me that one piece makes the entire main section, ya know what I mean? Quote
Brickdoctor Posted September 19, 2011 Posted September 19, 2011 A lot happens when you go away for a week, evidently, so I'll just voice my opinions for now. ARC Trooper - Woah, that's a lot of color other than white. Looks strange, IMO. Commando Droids - Look pretty good, but too big. Rebel Troopers - Nice to have a variation on the one from 8038. Sand Troopers - Leg printing! C-3PO - Really don't like the new torso. Geonosians - The grey one looks good, but I don't really want Barris or Gree. Overall, Droid Escape is still the only definite buy. Quote
Masked Builder Posted September 19, 2011 Posted September 19, 2011 Commando Droids - Look pretty good, but too big. Yeah I don't like the size either. Quote
