Zzz Posted September 19, 2011 Posted September 19, 2011 "funniest thing ever to build"? Whatever do you mean? I didn't imagine being able to do something like this out of Lego, when I was younger. And I would say that from all official sets that I built (only System that is, no Technic), the Y-Wing engines were the most interesting and ingenious design I ever had in my hands! Quote
mutley777 Posted September 19, 2011 Posted September 19, 2011 Commando Droids - Look pretty good, but too big. In the CW episode rookies from series 1, the Commando droids wore clone armour as a disguise. I don't think these guys could . Why Did TLC not just give them normal battle droid legs! Quote
CF Mitch Posted September 19, 2011 Posted September 19, 2011 (edited) Why Did TLC not just give them normal battle droid legs! I think they did, actually. If you look closely, I believe you can see that the commando droids are exactly similar to battle droids (besides their heads) when it concerns the parts used. I think the picture in the catalogue is just.. off. As in too big. They are facing a different direction than the many other figs as well... So, in conclusion, I think the commando droids will just be the same size as all the battle droids, thus being the correct minifig size (of course this is just my theory and gives no guarantee. However I strongly believe I am right) Regards, Mitch Edited September 19, 2011 by CF WeaZZel Quote

Brickdoctor Posted September 19, 2011 Posted September 19, 2011 That's because they are super battle droid legs You are correct about the curved thighs. Exactly my point. I suppose after the Manga Magma Magna Guards were done with the B2 legs, though, this was to be expected. It's just disappointing, especially since the B1 legs were used on the Assassin Droids. Quote

Manga droids are pritty tall and need B2 legs IMO. Quote

(and the other parts similarly scaled as well) Quote
Lord Of The Fries Posted September 20, 2011 Posted September 20, 2011 Yeah I don't like the size either. Agreed. Quote
-Jango- Posted September 21, 2011 Posted September 21, 2011 It would have been better if they replaced the two commando droids with two regular phase 2 clones instead Quote
MandaloretheLesser Posted September 21, 2011 Posted September 21, 2011 (edited) It would have been better if they replaced the two commando droids with two regular phase 2 clones instead I agree with the 2 clones idea but not phase 2 clones, CW ones would been fine, and the battle pack is a clone wars battle pack so no phase 2 clone would be in it unless they where new phase 2 clones from the clone wars (so a whole new fig, plus this set takes place before season 4). But any way getting rid of the commando droids is stupid, TLC is trying a new battle pack idea with involves both sides in one pack. Which I don't mind but I still wish it was two pack but I guess if they did two packs (like TLC has been doing) then they would not make this clone/droid battle pack until 2013, just the two Endor ones for 2012. legolandia Posted September 21, 2011 Posted September 21, 2011 It would have been better if they replaced the two commando droids with two regular phase 2 clones instead Blasphemy . I have really been looking forward to the commando droids. Apart from that we have had that many clones released recently that they are popping out of our ears. The commando droids re-dress that balance. After all the clones need someone to fight Quote
Mr Man Posted September 21, 2011 Posted September 21, 2011 I don't think these guys could . I wonder if you could get a clone's helmet on them though . Quote

I do not like, however, the design of the ARC-Trooper and the Commando Droids. Is there anyone who can make an educated guess about the odds that the design of the ARC Trooper and the Commando Droids will be changed? Edited September 21, 2011 by Brickadeer Quote
commanderneyo Posted September 21, 2011 Posted September 21, 2011 Personally, I like the combination. I do not like, however, the design of the ARC-Trooper and the Commando Droids. Is there anyone who can make an educated guess about the odds that the design of the ARC Trooper and the Commando Droids will be changed? I think the ARC Trooper is completed or is almost. I personally hope the Commando Droids change, one because they look too bulky, and two because the version of those droids this mini-figure is based on is grey, not black. And we still need to get confirmation on whether it's two ARC's or an ARF and an ARC. JediNews (reliable source) plus other sources have stated the name of the set is "ARC Troopers VS Commando Droids" so I expect to see the ARF change into another ARC (probably Blitz, as the one shown already is the only other surviving ARC on Kamino, Hammer) when we get final images... Quote
Blondie-Wan Posted September 21, 2011 Posted September 21, 2011 My god that Hoth game is awful, and those minis are a good way to get a Naboo, and TIE Pilot Which are great but why would you need lots of Sabulba? I think the Hoth game looks cute, as it's surely supposed to, and I must have missed the set with multiple Sebulba minifigures. Quote
Brickdoctor Posted September 21, 2011 Posted September 21, 2011 Somehow I missed the prelim pics of the game and planets while skimming through the thread after returning from my trip. The Hoth Game and TIE/in look pretty bad, but ironically, they're pretty high up on the list of things I want to get, both for being OT and because I want the microfigs and DS. I wouldn't say the Hoth Game looks cute. More like...blocky. But then again, all the games are simplified like that. Quote
Delta 38 Posted September 21, 2011 Posted September 21, 2011 I agree with the 2 clones idea but not phase 2 clones, CW ones would been fine, and the battle pack is a clone wars battle pack so no phase 2 clone would be in it unless they where new phase 2 clones from the clone wars (so a whole new fig, plus this set takes place before season 4). What I think would make everyone happy is if two sets of two battlepacks were released every year. So you can buy your two Clones/Droids/Imperials/Rebels in the first half, and then you can do the same in the second to create four full battlepacks. I'm fine with the Endor battlepacks with Stormtroopers and Rebels, but I would not give up two Clones for Commando droids. Quote
Fallenangel Posted September 21, 2011 Posted September 21, 2011 Can't believe no one's mentioned this yet: UCS B-WingFigs: XX (XXX) Price: ? EUR / ? USD / ? GBP Subtheme: XXX Pieces: Unknown Release: 2012 S@H Sounds like another proud addition to our fine series of craft built larger than minifigure scale. This should clear up any confusion as to whether the B-wing is System or larger. Quote
Piranha Posted September 21, 2011 Posted September 21, 2011 $20 is pretty good for the Droid Escape and Geonosian Cannon. I think I paid $10 for the original Droid Escape 10 or so years ago. The extra $10 we get a very well built pod/swoop bike and some nice figs. Pretty good value for your money on this one IMO. The TIE and X-Wing are pricey but not surprising. Quote

Looking at those prices they will slug us Aussies about $80-$100 for the tie fighter and xwing . What a rip off! My wallet is going to be very empty next year. Time to start saving now. Im hoping the battle packs will stay at the current Aussie price of $22 but I can see this pushing closer to $25 each if the US price has gone up. Quote

Now we truly have something to talk about regarding this rumored set. I'd hate to have gotten excited about something like a UCS B-Wing only to find out later that it was nothing other than an exclusive system set with a few extra perks. Bring it on 'UCS LARGE' Lego!
