Praiter Yed Posted October 17, 2011 Posted October 17, 2011 I think it looks the same as the Battle of Endor one ?? You're right, I bought some off eBay as 'Brand New from 8038' but they must have been the older ones with balck heads on them - damn! - Should have checked that Quote
Masked Builder Posted October 17, 2011 Posted October 17, 2011 I think that Y-wing will be one of my first OT sets in a while. And the Geonosian cannon! Gree is amazing! Quote
Hollander Posted October 17, 2011 Posted October 17, 2011 The only thing I'm worried about is which sets NOT to get. I didn't buy anything yet of the previous wave, I'll only pick up the Dathomir speeder and Geonosian fighter I guess. The money I'll safe will be spended on the first 2012 sets. As a huge fan of astromech droids, I'm sure all the sets including the new R5 unit are a most-have for me. Quote
Darth Nihilus Posted October 17, 2011 Posted October 17, 2011 (edited) Anakin's Jedi Starfighter revealed! If this has been posted before, please ignore it. EDIT: This has been posted before. Has anyone else noticed the new Stormie body printing in the BP? And that Anakin looks I love you, 2012! Edited October 17, 2011 by darthnihilius Quote
Stardusty Posted October 17, 2011 Posted October 17, 2011 What does Indy do in Endor? He helped the rebels to deactivate shield generators or something. He is the owner of Millenium Falcon, so I'm a bit surprised you're asking something like this. Trick question? Sarcasm? Quote
CF Mitch Posted October 17, 2011 Posted October 17, 2011 (edited) What does Indy do in Endor? Trick question? Sarcasm? I think hym is referring to the fact that the Rebel Commando's face looks a lot like Indy's, with the brown stubble and everything. It would be a nice variety for a facial expression for Indy By the way, thanks Grogall for all the amazing HR pics. You're fantastic Not sure what to think about the Y-Wing. I love that astromech droid that comes with it. But to buy the entire set just for that Regards, Mitch Edited October 17, 2011 by CF WeaZZel Quote
sealslip3 Posted October 17, 2011 Posted October 17, 2011 The new pictures look excellent! I can't wait to see ones for the planet sets. Quote
commanderneyo Posted October 17, 2011 Posted October 17, 2011 Oh man! just begging for those pics uh? Thanks for these pictures, Grogall! You're doing a great job If I may ask, do you have any images of the CW battle pack, including hi-res ones of the mini-figures, if I may be as bold to ask? Quote
Ki-Adi-Mundi Posted October 17, 2011 Posted October 17, 2011 Grogall, i bow before your very gallantry to share those brilliant pics with us! On the sets: As said before i'll go for Endor BP. The number i'll grab significantly depends on the price tag. Although it's only a single seater (Longprobe), i like the new Y-Wing very much. The frontal view is actually really stunning! Sexied up Leia is a nice gimmick. What's the price tag, anyone? The Geonosian Cannon is - despite winged Geonosians - one of the easiest passes of my Lego fandom. Quote
Walter Posted October 17, 2011 Posted October 17, 2011 Those twenty dollar sets look nice. Especially if they end up being twenty and not twenty-five. While on that subject, has anyone seen any accurate prices for these? Quote
Brickdoctor Posted October 17, 2011 Posted October 17, 2011 The Geonosian Cannon... Rather average, I guess. Barris looks ugly to me (but then again, I think all CW faces look ugly), and the one Zombie Geonosian spoils the inclusion of the wings. Gree isn't anything spectacular. On the positive side, we're getting via Barris a new color of cape and hood, and Gree gives us a Regular Green-accented helmet, but I'm not about to buy the set just for that. Quote
Thego Posted October 17, 2011 Posted October 17, 2011 Finally - a Leia dressed to give medals to Han and Luke in the medal ceremony! Quote
mutley777 Posted October 17, 2011 Posted October 17, 2011 All the new sets look very good and are all multiple buys apart from the Jedi Starfighter and maybe the Y-wing. The new Clone/droid BP is a fantastic set, which kids and AFOL's alike will love. I am thinking over 30+ for that set. The Endor BP set is another great new set but I am not sure it will have the same impact it could have had if it had a generic Ewok in it. 10+ maybe. Droid escape is a very good set with amazing new printing on the Sand troopers. At least 2 X-wing and the Tie are really good looking sets and to top that off come with great minifigs. 2 of each minimum The Geonosian Cannon is a good set which for me is let down by the minifig change from the preliminary set. 2 Geonosian Warriors would have been much more sellable in bulk numbers but the zombie drone is still a welcome new fig. Quote
Esvald Forceswoop Posted October 17, 2011 Posted October 17, 2011 The Y-Wing and the Geo. Cannon looks awensome! I need to buy a Y-Wing + X-Wing combo! The TIE Fighter and the TIE Advanced (2009) also a nice combo. Quote
Clone OPatra Posted October 17, 2011 Posted October 17, 2011 If I may ask, do you have any images of the CW battle pack, including hi-res ones of the mini-figures, if I may be as bold to ask? Do you mean other than the two he's already given us? Since you can see those two in his folder, though there is no front-on view of the figures. The new pictures of the Geonosian cannon just confirm that it's my favorite of the wave. Yes, the set is obviously about the minifigures, but I don't find anything wrong with that, since they are all quite good. This set will also compliment the Geonosian Fighter from the summer wave quite nicely. @Brickdoctor, I don't see how the Zombie Geo spoils the inclusion of wings. Even if they didn't have wings in the show (I think they did, but I don't remember), what could be wrong with getting more wings? I'd like as many wings as I can get. The Zombie having a gun doesn't make sense, but that too is an easy fix: take away the gun. Quote

I meant to say that including wings was a positive, but having one of the Geonosians be a Zombie is a negative that sort of negates the positive of the wings. If there were two normal Geonosians, both with wings, I would've considered this set. But I have no use for a Zombie Geonosian, and I'm not going to buy the set just for two pairs of wings and one normal Geonosian. We wanted winged Geonosians, and we got them, but the fact that one of them is a Zombie spoils it for me. Quote

I can understand Clones looking the same, for obvious reasons, but there should be some sort of variation in Geonosians, I think. Just don't use it as a Zombie. Problem solved. Quote

The Longprobe variant exists only in the Expanded Universe and features offset engine nacelles. This is the original single-seater A4. Quote
Delta 38 Posted October 17, 2011 Posted October 17, 2011 Thanks for the pictures! I thought the Y-Wing was a UCS set, like everyone's been saying. I'm relieved that the Y-Wing is a normal set, since I missed the previous ones. It's pretty close to the 2007 version, though the cockpit is less streamlined. Also, a third Astromech with the new head. The Stormtrooper torso's been changed, which I didn't notice before. I think the old one had a "cleaner" look, and it's a bit odd to be changing it. Quote

Since you can see those two in his folder, though there is no front-on view of the figures. I've seen those two, I mean more hi-res ones like he has given us for other sets, plus close-ups of the minifigures like we saw with "Dark" Anakin would be a bonus... Quote
67mountie67 Posted October 17, 2011 Posted October 17, 2011 so now that we're gettin commander gree anyone wanna guess that we might be gettin commander bly with the felucian figther set we're rumored to get in the summer? Quote
Fallenangel Posted October 17, 2011 Posted October 17, 2011 The sideways droid issue is really starting to get to me. I could let it slide on just the X-Wing, but it looks like this is becoming a bad trend... D'oh! The Y-wings in the film didn't have droids. There's a socket, but no droid. Can't believe I forgot about that. Quote

67mountie67 Posted October 17, 2011 Posted October 17, 2011 if they give us gree and the felucian set ends up including bly are there any other clone commanders we still need? Quote
TheBrickHitHouse Posted October 17, 2011 Posted October 17, 2011 After my initial horror, the Y wing is growing on me. Just a shame 'gold leader' is Zev... Quote
