Ki-Adi-Mundi Posted October 22, 2011 Posted October 22, 2011 (edited) The winter sets are final, but we don't know very much about the summer special edition sets. What we do know is that one of these sets will include Queen Amidala, which means we will get at least one Menace set. Besides, the new box design of every 2012 set shows Darth Maul, one of the most important characters from Episode 1. Ah, i see. Thank you. Yes, i too think that Maul on the boxes is meant to represent something. We just got a bunch of Menace sets in the last wave. With what will almost certainly be a couple years dominated by Clones and Sith sets coming up, my guess is that TLG decided to give us a good amount of OT sets in this wave to get their main OT sets updated before they go into PT waves full blast. Well, it was 3 system sets if my count goes right. I'd not say that this is too much. The 'time ripple' between set releases and the cinema premiere makes me wonder a little. However, you are right about the OT sets and i welcome almost all of them. Your further guess is a pretty educated one, as usual. Exactly. They want to get the main ships and characters of the OT out before they leave it behind for several years. I just hope that they don't do an OT wave in the middle of the AOTC wave I'v been waiting for since 2008! Ok, you got a point here. Still i hope that OT won't be left behind. At least sets like upcoming Jabba's palace here and there would keep us OT fans at bay. AFAIK, OT sets certainly aren't the worst sellers for TLG. So my expectations that they won't be neglected remain fairly high. EDIT: BTW, i often see minifigs with RPG stats in the signatures of some forum members. Where can we look up the 'rules' if such do really exist? Edited October 22, 2011 by Ki-Adi-Mundi Quote
Mr Man Posted October 22, 2011 Posted October 22, 2011 Ah, i see. Thank you. Yes, i too think that Maul on the boxes is meant to represent something. Not really Rex and Vader weren't significant, it's just box art. Quote

(action figures, toy lightsabers, etc.) EDIT: BTW, i often see minifigs with RPG stats in the signatures of some forum members. Where can we look up the 'rules' if such do really exist? Heroica RPG. The Crazy One Posted October 23, 2011 Posted October 23, 2011 First time I have posted here in ages but wow, this new wave is just amazing. I think after a year and a bit off I will have to get those clone battle packs and the escape pod. The detail on these fingers has just gone up so much recently. Quote

Jedi master Brick Posted October 23, 2011 Posted October 23, 2011 Yes, those are some detailed fingers. Yeah I agree, wait minifigures don't even have fingers Quote
Darth Nihilus Posted October 24, 2011 Posted October 24, 2011 I have been waiting for new AOTC since 2002. Yeah, but I have been waiting with bated breath since the new clone helmet came out. And I wasn't into LEGO in 2002, so I missed out on those great sets Quote
Bricker Posted October 24, 2011 Posted October 24, 2011 (edited) What figs do you guys think will be in the desert skiff? Obviously the set looks like the figs will be the main purpose so Im just hoping we get a nice little Boba Fett, Luke in jedi outfit, Lando in guard duisguise, one of the weird pig guards with printing, and Han Solo. Thats only what seems likely because thats what the figs were in the movie. Did anyone other than me take notice to the new stormie torso print? I find it odd that in the Endor battle pack set the storm trooper doesnt have leg print while the sand troopers in the droid escape set DO have leg print (with dirt). Sadly this is how LEGO like to release their sets(or better yet OUR sets since we buy them). The EU sets got me exited in the June wave. I am so happy LEGO finally decided to make a new Jabbas palace! Hopefully it will have Bousch, Buoch, bleh. Sorry cant spell it and Im not gonna go and waste 3 minutes looking for the name. The cloud car will probably have 2 bespin huards and the planet set will have Lobot right? Well the Lobot can be partially confirmed and the Bespin guards are only what seems likely. I dont feel like posting all of my opinions so maybe later... BTW whane should we expect prelim pics for the summer wave, LEGO is getting me exited. Edited October 24, 2011 by Bricker Quote

commanderneyo Posted October 24, 2011 Posted October 24, 2011 Around February. I'd say we would see prelim pics before then. February is when Toy Fair is, and there we would be seeing official pictures Didn't we get prelim pics for this year's Summer wave around December or January? That is when I would expect them again for Summer 2012 wave. Quote
Masked Builder Posted October 24, 2011 Posted October 24, 2011 I saw this before but never to got to posting it. But yes the Zombi Geonosians did have wings and his wings are missing a wing really giving him that "undead" feeling. Quote

The rest will show up in the palace set since it seems Lego is trying to flesh out as much of the main cast as possible (this year alone we already got all the Hoth, A New Hope and Phantom Menace characters and we're one figure away from completing the Medal Ceremony trio) Quote
Brickmamba Posted October 25, 2011 Posted October 25, 2011 fingers crossed we get a skiff more of Jabba's guards with some new exclusive figs like Weequay instead of the 'usual suspects' han, luke, chewie, boba Quote
Vindice Posted October 25, 2011 Posted October 25, 2011 Looking back at the 2011 P&R thread, it looks like the winter wave came out in early December last year. Is there any information as to when this years will hit shelves? It would be cool if we do get them before year end. Quote

Typically, the new sets turn up around mid-November to the end of December, usually someone gets them a few weeks before everyone else, posts photos, everyone gets jealous and they start to slowly turn up until they become common around January. At least this is what's happened in my experience since joining the Lego community. Quote

In the eloquent words of re-re-retconned Darth Vader: NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! The BPs went up another dollar, and the TIE is unaffordable. The Geonosian Cannon and the Droid Escape are the only relatively good deals on this list. Well, I was planning on getting more than one of both those sets anyway...... Quote
