frogstudio Posted July 25, 2011 Posted July 25, 2011 Hi to all!!!! I've been organizing my collection during the weekend and decided to grab the chance and picture all my MOCS (some are several years old). I'll be posting them during this week, so, if you're interested in this one, check them out... :) Amongst my MOCS is this small train station. I always loved how LEGO integrated Town and Castle in the early 80s. I completely understand why this would be impossible to do now, but I really hoped they did it again. My train layout has an area where the old castle is (I also posted this MOC), so I decided to do this small train station to go near it. The idea behind it is that the station was constructed using the ruins of a gatehouse of the “old city”, so it combines a stone and half timbered structure with a modern glass and steel roofing.. Hope you like it. Comments are welcomed...Cheers!!! Quote

Thanks for your comment. Always woderen why not many people integrate train/ city with castle, considering the huge amoun of European AFOLS... :) Quote

22kane Posted July 26, 2011 Posted July 26, 2011 I actually really like this, well done!! That's a really cool take on a train station and why not use other themed parts to spice things up? Great job on this. Very original Quote
WesternOutlaw Posted July 26, 2011 Posted July 26, 2011 You've successfully blended Castle and Trains in Classic Town fashion, a practice seldomly used anymore. It's a nice integration of Castle. I really like the colors and the red roof looks terrific. Nice job on the tudor wall decals as well. This reminds me of a mini-article/topic from a few years back, Classic Castle Towns: What Ever Happened to the Town/Castle Combination? It's great to see this in our Train Forum! Quote

To me they work really well togetherand add a whole new range of possibilities, without being unreal. I always remember when I visited Nuremberg, how nice it the combination of old and new looked in the city... And that was almost 20 years ago!!! Quote
HighFlyer Posted September 3, 2011 Posted September 3, 2011 Love the wall and roof details and the brilliant combination of Castle and Trains. Great job! Quote
