Kahgarak Posted October 29, 2006 Posted October 29, 2006 Great. Now we have a Bionicle set of a sperm collection. *sad* There is no smily here on EB that can describe how funny i think this is...So this will have to do: Sperm collection... ;-) Quote
Zarkan Posted October 29, 2006 Posted October 29, 2006 Great to see another BZP member here, TOM! And, yeah, you pretty much summed up everything I was thinking. X-D It's too bad Pridak is the least clear of all the 2007 images, but the other images were a nice surprise! I'm not sure about the Polyps, but I'll have to wait until I get some to make judgement. Love the box displays as well! ;-) BTW, I don't think GregF has ever blantly lied about something he shared, and actually, although the infor he usually gives is small, he gives out tons of it. Besides he's not the only reason why BZP refuses to display the pictures. By not doing that, they keep dirrect ties with the Lego Company, which means ocassionally special things like the interview with the Bionicle Heroes developer. Besides, if GregF leaves, than alot of fans on the site will be really unhappy, since they will not be able to ask him anything anymore or get any special info. I think keeping the pictures off for now is more logical, considering what possition they are in. ;-) Quote
JINZONINGEN73 Posted October 29, 2006 Posted October 29, 2006 BTW, I don't think GregF has ever blantly lied about something he shared, He has, pointed out even by the higher ups of BZ once or twice. Besides he's not the only reason why BZP refuses to display the pictures. By not doing that, they keep dirrect ties with the Lego Company, I think they're so big that they'd have that anyway. which means ocassionally special things like the interview with the Bionicle Heroes developer. Serious question... is that exciting to the Bionicle fans? I actually don't know the answer. Do topics like that get many (unique user) views? Besides, if GregF leaves, than alot of fans on the site will be really unhappy, since they will not be able to ask him anything anymore or get any special info. I think keeping the pictures off for now is more logical, considering what possition they are in. (Weren't the books canceled or something)? I dunno'. Personally, pictures tell you ALOT more about where your money's going in the near future. But again, personally. I see 14,000 folder hits on the dude who put the new set images on Brickshelf. In the matter of a few hours. Bah, maybe I'm just too old to care about stories and "in-developement" videogame stories. Those seem all the same after awhile. It could be in reference to any franchise, whereas sets actually please you by being different. :-D Quote
hewkii9 Posted October 29, 2006 Posted October 29, 2006 I think the Polyps fire from a ripcord, looking at the spiral at the back. Pull the cord, and it spins and flies out. The Rhotuka flew great, might as well repeat it. BZP trashing Eurobricks-They can't, they're too uptight about mentioning forums and possibly losing a member to openytrash anyone. But there's been plenty of references to us, like when EB found Inika pics and the policy came into effect again. Me and Hewkii- When half your collection is brown, and your favorite character is released in some new color that you don't have any of, you get a bit uppity. But that Carapar looks great! Quote
Darkness Falls Posted October 29, 2006 Posted October 29, 2006 It's very funny, actually... GregF seemed to be the best thing that happened to BZP, considering he dropped hints on the storyline and made more complicated, unique plots to every year. But I kinda liked the original storyline better. Anyways... sperm throwers. Why does that sound so wrong to me? Back to the sets: It's good to see we finally have a successful three-eyed set. Reidak failed miserably. Takadox seems the least visible. I can't make heads or tails of his face... looks like... I don't even know. Quote
Kynok Posted October 29, 2006 Posted October 29, 2006 Sperm Throwers, lol. Anyways, I think Greg is a good guy. Bash me all you want, I don't care. He's a good writer and thats all I see him as. Nothing more, nothing less. I've never really cared what he said on BZPower. I wait for the comics and such for the storyline instead of ruining the surprise a year early. But I'm curious now... What has he "lied" about? Quote
KMOI Posted October 29, 2006 Posted October 29, 2006 We're not going to bash you, Kynok! This is EB, and opinions are encouraged! Also, topic de-railment happens on a frequent basis, but that's a good thing. :-D I'm sure it's going to be named something else like Hydromors or something along those lines. Silly naming process... And about the mystery of the Pridan/Pridak set. Maybe they removed it? Dekar didn't change any of the file names before he uploaded them, and since the ID for the Pridak image is "lego-bionicle-pridak", it matches up with the other URLs that currently exist on the site. I'm sure what Dekar did was take one of the image's URLs such as this: http://www.kaleidoshop.de/produktkatalog/p...icle-mantax.jpg And knowing the name of the missing set, renamed it to this: http://www.kaleidoshop.de/produktkatalog/p...icle-pridak.jpg And managed to get the image before that site took it down. That or Dekar works at Kaleidoshop. :-P On a side note, yes, it would make for AWESOME fan-fiction. I'm tempted to write it myself, ToM! Quote
Zarkan Posted October 29, 2006 Posted October 29, 2006 I think they're so big that they'd have that anyway. As yoda says, size matters not. Just because a site is big doesn't mean it will always get special privilages. If Eurobricks was that big right now, and BZP was smaller, but EB still posted the pictures, it wouldn't really matter. ;-) Serious question... is that exciting to the Bionicle fans? I actually don't know the answer. Do topics like that get many (unique user) views? Actually, yes. The Bionicle Heroes interviews have been really popular, from what I've seen. Probably because the game is so cool, IMO, but also because its the first big Bionicle game since 2003, and will definately be better than Bionicle: the game. ;-) (Weren't the books canceled or something)?I dunno'. Personally, pictures tell you ALOT more about where your money's going in the near future. But again, personally. I see 14,000 folder hits on the dude who put the new set images on Brickshelf. In the matter of a few hours No, at least not the first two books. And, I agree that pictures tell a lot more about the SETS, but not nearly as much about the story, which is as popular as the sets on BZP (unlike here). But, is it really that hard for BZP members to go here or on Brickshelf and find the pictures anyway? X-D Bah, maybe I'm just too old to care about stories and "in-developement" videogame stories. Those seem all the same after awhile. It could be in reference to any franchise, whereas sets actually please you by being different. Not really a matter of being old, as there are lots of older teens and adults who love the Bionicle story. And, I can tell you, that Bionicle is still a lot different than the average tv show or franchise. WAY different, and not nearly as generic even though it's in its 6 year (IMO). But, its no problem if you don't like the story, but love the sets. The majority of EB is like that, anyway! I'm simply saying that BZP is just a different story than EB, due to fans loving the story so much and not wanting to lose ties with Greg or TLC, the story info givers. Thats why these pictures are a nono on BZP, because if they lost Greg and TLC, they lose the story info they get so often and love so much. ;-) Quote
vahkimetru Posted October 29, 2006 Posted October 29, 2006 Well, BZP has described us as innaproppriette, etc. Plus they used to have EB on a links page, but they removed the links page. Please, BZP, if you lose one member, will it kill you?!? Quote
JINZONINGEN73 Posted October 29, 2006 Posted October 29, 2006 (edited) I found the source You are a ninja... you know that, right? :-D vahkimetru post Today, 02:55 PMWell, BZP has described us as innaproppriette, etc. Yeah, that's fair. We don't pass Bionicle Rex's "granny test". Language more or less flows free here, with only the stronger words censored. I see where they're coming from. Of course Deviantart.com doesn't either, but you have to explore there a bit to hit it. Edited October 29, 2006 by JINZONINGEN 73 Quote
Zarkan Posted October 29, 2006 Posted October 29, 2006 Well, BZP has described us as innaproppriette, etc. Plus they used to have EB on a links page, but they removed the links page. Please, BZP, if you lose one member, will it kill you?!? ???? I never heard them say anything like that. Besides, I really don't think it's as much a matter of not wanting to lose members as it is that many forums are, well, not so good. Since parrents may want their kids to stay off those "bad" forums, BZP decided to stop letting people post links to other forums entirely, since so many have "bad" things on them Now, I for one dislike the language people sometimes use here (you know what I mean), but since it is not nearly as rampant as on other forums, I put up with it. BUT, the kid's parrents may think differently, and since BZP does not want parrents complaning that they are linking to "bad" sites with language, BZP really can't link to them without risking a lot of angry emails being sent to them. BZP wants to remain as a kid friendly, clean site, and linking to fourms with things that are not like that risks their reputaiton. That make sense? Plus, BZP does not want people linking to sites with the leaked pictures either, not just posting images, so linking to Eurobricks (which casualy shows leaked pictures) is a no no if they want to also keep their reputation with TLC and GregF. ;-) Edit: Darn it, didn't realize that JINZONINGEN already gave an answer to hewkii. Oh well, at least now he has backup. X-D Quote
Kahgarak Posted October 29, 2006 Posted October 29, 2006 Deviantart.com doesn't either, but you have to explore there a bit to hit it. Are you a member of DA?I am.My homepage is here. What is yours? Quote
Darkness Falls Posted October 29, 2006 Posted October 29, 2006 BZP is a site for children and adults, therefore, nice language must be used. I still love saying "damn" on this forum, though. I feel LIBERATED! To tell you the truth, I've been hanging out on BZP less and less lately, just because EB has more fun people. And that's saying something, considering BZP has, what, 200,000 members? Quote

Well, the language flows with even more freedom on ItB, and BR lets us keep on truckin'... So yeah, these sets. I want better pictures. I'm not so much diggin' on what I can see, though. <<DV>> Quote
Kynok Posted October 29, 2006 Posted October 29, 2006 I guess the thing I HATE about BZP is all the freakin' rules. Holy crap! "Your sig can be no longer that 6 lines and so-and-so thick. No off topic disscussion in ANY way. You laugh, your banned. No religion, no polotics, and no "Grown-up stuff"" Its a freakin' communist nation over there. Bleh! Whats a message board's point if you can't state your True Opinion. -Kynok EDIT: And whats with the Proto Energy? They are brainwashing and bribing the kids to follow a cruel Dictator. Quote

Whats a message board's point if you can't state your True Opinion.-Kynok EDIT: And whats with the Proto Energy? They are brainwashing and bribing the kids to follow a cruel Dictator. Exactly. Amen. Whatever you call it. Once, I asked Bionicle Rex in a PM why he had a sig that had George Bush on it and why I couldn't state my political opinion, and he merely stated, "Because I'm an admin and you're not." Entire reply. No joke. Seriously, I'm just fed up with the members there being popular because they do good things and grow up to be good children. Some deserve their popularity, mind you, but most don't. ANGER. Now, back to the sets... Yes, ToM Dracone, I stated the body styles varying earlier... one looks small and runty, two are large and bulky, and the three others look... spindly and thin. Though I'd like to see a better Takadox picture before making my final opinion of the LOOK, not the playability, that what it looks like. Quote
dviddy Posted October 30, 2006 Posted October 30, 2006 EDIT: And whats with the Proto Energy? They are brainwashing and bribing the kids to follow a cruel Dictator. I don't know if you know this, but many messageboards have a ratings system, with a scale that goes either plus or minus five, that's used for disciplinary purposes. BZP just makes the one they use public. And honestly? The rules aren't hard to follow. If you're not trying to, and keep your language civil, you're not going to get in trouble. Debates with GregF even haven't often resulted in trouble. Whats a message board's point if you can't state your True Opinion. You can state your opinion on BZP. I do it all the time. I've argued with Greg, with Bonesiii, etc. You just have to do it respectfully. Honestly, it's not that hard. Toyfair over yet? Maybe soon we'll get some images from there. <<DV>> Quote

And I've got some good connections over there. I'm not saying its hard. I'm saying its no fun. Thats why I come here to EB to express all my True Opinions on LEGO. Becuase I cant over at BZP. -Kynok Quote
optimus-convoy Posted October 30, 2006 Posted October 30, 2006 Barraki... From what I've seen, these guys don't exite me much. Though it is nice to see more variety in the canister sets. But I gotta say those are some great looking containers. *y* Quote
JINZONINGEN73 Posted October 30, 2006 Posted October 30, 2006 Totally. I see myself getting a few of the blue-lidded one just to get a playset of sorts goin'. Bonus points if there's stud, axle or friction pin connection points on the underside. :-) Enough BZ talk now. The discussion of pros and cons could go on too long. ::sends e-ninja out to find clearer pics:: You know... if Lego has such a problem with leaked Bionicle pictures, why don't they just release them straight to a site (like BZ) first? ...Before 900,000 kids go scouring the net for them? Even more, why are set pics for nearly every "adult" line ok to show all over the place, but the more kiddie ones aren't? It will be a cold day in Houston before I EVER believe any new Bionicle data is "leaked". It's always the same... an online place gets early, foggy CGI rendered pics... and the internet goes crazy. lol It's all publicity, man. Quote
Darkness Falls Posted October 30, 2006 Posted October 30, 2006 Enough BZP talk. From what I can see of Takadox, he's HUGE! Very impressive, but skinny. I suppose he's the opposite to Ehlek... Still loving those bulky ones... Quote
