Jipay Posted August 14, 2006 Posted August 14, 2006 I'm hoping the vehicles will be Jules Verne style. Are you seriously hoping for this ? After seing the entry for the moonbase contest of a Lego designer who is working on a new 2007 line (that should be the aqua raiders), I definitly don't think it'll be Jules Verne style. Trans red, yes, Jules Verne, no X-D Quote
highlandcattle Posted August 14, 2006 Posted August 14, 2006 I too hope it will be classic 1930 style divers. Man that would be so cool or perhaps like the 1997 diver sets but then with big animals Quote
Jemppu Posted August 14, 2006 Posted August 14, 2006 I too hope it will be classic 1930 style divers. Man, you guys are getting my hopes high. And it's likely to end up in nothing but dissapointment! I'll blame you! *sob* Quote
xwingyoda Posted August 14, 2006 Posted August 14, 2006 It will probably be a Trans coloured-Exo Force futuristic style theme unfortunatly !! I really imagine the divers to have an Exo Force look with trans helmets, and their subs to be real futuristic with a real weird and annoying colour pattern !! I hope to be proven wong shortly !! However, if that line is really successfull, TLC migfht consider an adventurer underwater sub theme (like I wrote before !!): It would be a 1930's style underwater sets. Those 2/3 sets would be parts of the bigger adventure off course Like discovering 1 part of something (like Tomb Raider's Legend scenario)... Oh well, Kids want modern stuff unfortunatly :-| *yoda* Quote

agrotic Posted August 14, 2006 Posted August 14, 2006 I'll talk when I see pictures of those sets... a good name may finish in a very bad set : horrible colors or global appearance ... fireline is a best seller one. so... TLC continues to make some new firetrucks, and so on ... that's commercial only ... for an AFOL it's crap ! but for kids it's marvelous. so, please remember that LEGO is designed for kids first (city line almost) personnaly, I'm waiting for more NASA, sculpture and house sets or ... farmal things :-) Nico, who's waiting for his boeing starliner ... damn LaPoste !!! ReZourceman Posted August 14, 2006 Posted August 14, 2006 WhhhooO!!!! Lol. Those Exo-Force sets sounds, incredibly awesome, dont they! But wheres Batman? :-( Quote

ReZourceman Posted August 14, 2006 Posted August 14, 2006 Well I liked Exo-Force, so I see good potential here. I'm not a fan of the older Aqua sets, but with modern designs these could be great. Word! This is bang on! (Sorry for the double post) Quote

alex54 Posted August 14, 2006 Posted August 14, 2006 if so, please no junior one-piece shark nor one-piece manta ray.sticking to star wars and exo force...hehehehe. >:-( I can't let somebody says that! the old shark and the manta ray are not <insert that tiresome argument> pieces! The horses don't too! I don't know why they would be! They have a really lego feeling in term of design, like the minidog. the dino2010 are <insert that tiresome argument> animals! And how to make some smaller animals with standard pieces and without being not minifig scale ones? BTW, the firestation has to be better than the actual one, maybe with the old good doors... just wait and see! The mantaman... Quote
xwingyoda Posted August 14, 2006 Posted August 14, 2006 Amen my Mantaman Brother :-D The Bat Pinguins are cute but do not ressemble pinguins at all !! I want to see that pick-up vehicle !! It can be a sweet vehicle to mod for a normal city full of life and NOT fires, crimes and loads of deseases >:-( *yoda* Quote
natelite Posted August 14, 2006 Posted August 14, 2006 i dunno man. to me, sharks and mantarays are much larger than that. horses i can see being one-piece. but did you know in the very first castle set the horses were actually made from bricks? only later did they change that to one-piece horse. now, sharks, mantarays, crocodiles and dinasours (from the jurassic park series not the dino attack ones) shouldn't be one-piece units. reason is because they are much much larger than that. it just strikes me as odd...a big great white shark is like huge. no, humongous! 30-40 feet, a few ton creature. how can that one piece dingy thing be called a great white? it should be like the length of the viking ship. *wacko* sorry if you don't share my views. :-P but we dont all have to agree you know. ;-) Quote
sasbury Posted August 14, 2006 Posted August 14, 2006 but i think the continuation of only a few themes is what brought them in trouble in the first place. sure, the firetruck was highly successful so every reason to build another one, that's not our concern. the thing is they're ONLY producing firetrucks and policecars... you'd think they use the successful basis of the firetruck to build normal cars/trucks, just to see how that goes... .. Agreed. They need to keep expanding the theme. Airport and the new tower crane were steps in the right direction. Also, city isn't just for kids. A lot of AFOLs are fire/rescue fans. There are three mutual-aid groups (IALFD, LMFD, LFD) with dozens of members each, several fire-themed websites, and a lot of top builders on Brickshelf have rescue themes (Pierre Normandin, Brian Gallant, etc.) btw, we still have the old firestation in the shops... The 2004 fire station was pretty disappointing, while the LARGER police station has stayed on the 25 best-seller list (at least in the U.S.) So at that price point, maybe we'll get a larger, better designed fire station. I'm hoping for a fireboat station. ;-) -Steven Quote
KMOI Posted August 14, 2006 Posted August 14, 2006 I'm skeptical of the Exo-Force sets, as they sound like rehashes of December/January's offerings. However, if they're GOOD rehashes, then I'm all for it! I just love the frame of Supernova and Silent Strike and if they're based off the same frame, then I'm all for it! City actually sounds kinda nifty to me. Though, I can't exactly understand why a Lego city would need such a regiment of fire-fighting machines. As for this new theme, I'm looking forwards to it! I'm a space/underwater/future theme kinda guy, so this sounds interesting! I was actually a huge fan of Hydronauts, but I hope this new theme is more "tame" then previous Aquazone incarnations. Then again, let's look at it. They took Knights Kingdom and re-made it with pretty decent results, so I'm sure this one will be pretty good. If there's a storyline, I really, REALLY hope that it's not so formulaic. As for Duplo and Belville, I really don't know what to think of them (because I'm not a fan), but they seem pretty cool! Good to see that three's something for everyone! I'm rather disturbed by the lack of Avatar and Batman though. Meh! I'm sure they'll mention those later on. Anyhoo, all and all, pretty good, in my opinion! Quote

Hmm... they built the police station on an ugly baseplate, then the hospital, and now maybe the fire station, too. The price range would fit. If that's better, though, I dunno... I'm hoping for a fireboat station. ;-) I'm not sure I am... oh well, I'll just wait for pics... Quote

Yes and they were right, the brick horses were not as good as the molded ones ! One think I'd like are movable legs though. It would help so much in brickfilms... Quote
Kikuichimonji Posted August 14, 2006 Posted August 14, 2006 New Exo-Force...that's interesting. And the Aqua Raiders have me interested too. I wonder what TLC will make out of it. Quote
Darth_Ewok Posted August 14, 2006 Posted August 14, 2006 I can't wait for all this stuff to be availible! Time to start hoarding lego spending money :-) Quote

If that's better, though, I dunno... I forgot about the disappointing hospital set. :-( If it has to be on a raised baseplate, hopefully the fire station will be more like the police station. Or, even better, more like this set -Steven Quote

Anyhoo, all and all, pretty good, in my opinion! well the rational explanation is that these sets (including spongebob) are north america only (or at least for 2007). so you wont find them on amazon.de just yet. we'll probably hear more of them when the news eventually leak out. sorry if i am stating what was obvious to everyone... *wacko* *sweet* Quote
hewkii9 Posted August 14, 2006 Posted August 14, 2006 What the heck? Where's the Vikings? Where's the KK2.4? Where's the X-Pods? Where's the beef? Looks like I'll be going back to only buying Bionicle. Quote
