Posted July 30, 201113 yr Sorry if this isn't the right place to post this, but the new Argos catalogue came out today in the UK and Pirates Of The Carribean Lego has been taken out, so nearly all of the sets are discounted in a clearance sale. Try Argos on-line and search for "Lego Pirate" - they aren't listed in the new catalogue, but still show up in a search. I missed out on a big £28.00 saving on Queen Anne's Revenge as they have sold out now , so if you are thinking of getting any of the other sets, this might be a good opportunity...
August 1, 201113 yr Does this mean no more POTC? Probably making room for new POTC sets coming out soon.
August 1, 201113 yr Probably making room for new POTC sets coming out soon. Actually this is not a positive sign. The Pirates sets didn't make it into the last catalogue because of their release date so they should have been in this one. Coupled with the discounted sets which incidentally have been discounted for many, many weeks already then this is a bad sign for the sales of these sets in Argos. Remember Argos are a huge retailer of toys. If these sets are doing badly through them it is likely it is the same elsewhere too. I think this range is struggling. With the Batman license returning and the other superheros stuff, there will be at least one license being bumped. This is a strong candidate.

All the sets are really expensive for the amount of bricks included (compare with Harry Potter's for example). Queen Anne's revenge is the nicest in my opinion whereas all the other non-ship sets have a good design but are very essential. I Like White Cap Bay but it should have included at least a baseplate with some rocks and some water, so that the lighthouse would have been at an upper level with respect to the sea. August 4, 201113 yr Sad as it's a really good license. I would've liked to see a flying dutchman but I'm not too hopeful.
