Try for the helmet. The pole of the spear could be anything, and the bases might feel like the shield.

Tip 1: Dig your fingernail (gently) into the piece to get the shape. I found my S5 Gangster by feeling the indentation on the top of the hat.

Tip 2: Call the store and ask them when they usually get shipments, so you can have the first shot at them.

I hope this helps.

Thank you. I'm going to try again tomorrow. I hope I can snag at least one of 'em

OK, it's not a secret, but here's my finding on Minifigure series 6.

This may be controversial for some, but here's how to get the series 6 figures you

want and get them fast. Much faster than the feel method. I went through NINE full boxes

in less than 30 minutes.

Use a Digital Pocket Scale, and weight them. Yes, I know this is NOT NEW.

Tape the list on your scale (see image)

Here the weights in grams.

9.8 Robot

10.3 Alien

10.4 Bandit

10.6 Lep

10.9 Sleepy

10.9 Doctor

11.0 Dancer

11.1 Battler

11.1 Genie

11.2 (could be Genie or Roman)

11.3 Roman

11.4 Mechanic (Some Mechanics are 11.3)

11.5 Minotaur

11.6 Statue of Lib

12.2 Skater girl

12.3 Galactic girl

Be real careful with the 11.3, if could be a Roman or it could be the Mechanic.

You will have to feel the 11.3 packets.

*huh* I never would have thought of this. Did you bring the scale to the store or did you just buy a bunch?

Yep, I took it right into the store.

I went early in the morning, wasn't many people there and in that 30 minutes

only two group of people even went down the Lego row where I was.

Eh, for the price of the scale I could buy several more minifigures. I never understood why many people refuse to use the tried and true feel method.

Already owned the scale (zero dollars) and I went through Nine Full boxes in 30 minutes!!!

That would take me ALL DAY with the feel methods.

Interesting idea. Might have to try it.

Personally I have trouble feeling the bags, and when I can feel, it usually takes several minutes to determine what's in each bag (and even then I'm only right about 80% of the time). So I think it would make things much easier.

Got all my lmfs6 by touch and feel. I went roman hunting and I would say the codes worked. Yesterday, I got all the 3 romans in a box within 5 minutes. The roman codes were unique and there are only three of those, so if you find too many of the same codes then you need to touch and feel to confirm.

TRU in St. Catharines Ontario is well stocked. The display itself has the bags scattered all around that shelf but there's many to be had. Got the Celtic/Highland Warrior I was missing to complete a full set.

This is a good technique, but I found my Romans by finding the spear. The spear has a flexible tip, the laser blasts from the Alien and Space Girl, and the axe handle from the Minotaur lack this piece. The rest of the figs have no accessories that feel anywhere close. Funny story about Series 6. I stopped in my local TRU to feel a bag or two, but I was in a hurry. I felt the blaster pistol, but forgot that the Grey Alien has the same one. I was happy because I thought I had the Space Girl I was looking for. I was a bit disappointed to find the Alien. I have since rectified this mistake.

I love that Skater Girl, especially the hair. Now, if only that hair came in brown...

It does, actually, but without the highlights. The S1 nurse and the S5 zookeeper both have it and brown and reddish brown respectively.

Keep in mind...the spear is FAR longer than any of the bars that come in those packs you mentioned. If you think you've found one, just check the length...if it's a wee short little thing, it's not the Roman. If it's almost as long as the pack is wide, you've got yourself a Roman.

Today I found two highlanders and four minotaurs by touch and feel. The minotaurs were easy, and surprisingly enough, the highlanders I found due to the hair, arther than the sword or shield.

If you find by the hair, you risk getting intergalactic girl. Both have the same hair piece shape. Safest best is still shield or sword. For me I feel for the sword everytime.

I got all 16. (I thought.) But when I opened them, instead of a Lady Liberty, I got another Flamenco Dancer! (Why do I always get copies of the worthless ones?) Beware! The fan and the flame feel the same, as to the sloped bricks!

Those hairs are really easy to feel the difference of, the girl's hair has all of those ridges on it, while the highlander has an all smooth hair (and not as broad as the girl's).

I find that searching for only one special piece often takes too long. Better to learn all of the pieces and therefore be able to recognize the minifig faster.

That's why you always have to check for the rubber crown if you find a slope.

The last few times I checked our WalMart, they had no CMF's, nor do our Targets. Only Learning Express (3.99USD each....ugh) which has 4 and 5 in Raleigh, TRU which has 5 and a few 4's, and the Lego store, which has 6. If they have a lot of 4 and 5, many stores wait to put 6 out instead of reducing the prices of the earlier one.

I finally got the ones I was looking for from these three series....found a few of them on ebay under 4.00, which was great. Have you noticed that your preferences may change over time, and if you look at an earlier series, there may be more of the figures that you now want?

I now ask the people who also are feeling the bags if they want to trade the ones they got but don't want after we pay for them, and this has worked well in the Lego store and Learning Express. Wish they would just tell us what is in the darn bags!!!
