Jargo Posted August 23, 2011 Posted August 23, 2011 Thanks for the feedback lifeinplastic. I haven't worked on many of the designs for a while due to having a very demanding puppy who wants to play 24/7 and a really annoying back problem. However I have been doodling some more ideas. I really need to colourise and finalise the ones I've already shown first though. And recolour the generic shop assistant as the pink/purple theme looks revolting to me now. Incidentally, the most viewed of my designs is the inline skater. I don't know if that's significant but it has double the views of most of the other designs. Quote
mo123567 Posted August 25, 2011 Posted August 25, 2011 Wonder if the Jungle boy might look a little like one of my designs. Lord of the Jungle I love your designs. I hope Lego won't be afraid to make their designs too close to yours in fear of having to pay royalties... As far as the possible hints, I have requested a flemenco dancer previously so that would be one I can look forward to. The jungle boy could be interesting especially if it is like Brickenhead-town-dweller's design. On another note, I never quite get why there are always people wanting the CM series to end. Usually it is someone who enjoys them saying that they do not want to buy any more or they fear the ideas are running out. I for one want to see these continue for a long time. There are plenty of good ideas left and I also welcome varients on existing themes. I would love to see more dwarves, elves, alternate sports costumes, etc... Plus all the new elements are greatly adding to the ability to create our own minifigures. Quote
Jargo Posted August 25, 2011 Posted August 25, 2011 I love your designs. I hope Lego won't be afraid to make their designs too close to yours in fear of having to pay royalties... Thank you and, well, I'm not terribly interested in financial gain. My designs are free for LEGO to use. And they're also just suggestions and interpretation. They start out as actual 1:1 size doodles done last thing at night before I turn the light out and go to sleep. So they aren't anything special. I'm an ideas kind of guy rather than an artist. I was going to ask someone from the decal wish-list thread if they fancied having a crack at making decals from some of my designs so people can use them to customise minifigs. As in redrawing them as vector images with nice clean lines and the correct colour pallet. And if anyone has ideas for how to improve any of my unfinished designs feel free to say so in a profile comment. Anyhow, back to series 6 speculation and discussion. A Flamenco dancer could be difficult to make if it's a female. The multi-layered skirt might be too difficult to miniaturise in fabric. It would look fantastic if done right, but I have a hunch that technical difficulties would get in the way of it being excellent. Similarly Can Can dancers and Ballerinas skirts would suffer the same problems. Unless they were moulded pieces. but that limits articulation further than we already have with minifigs. We'll just have to wait and see what accurate spy reports give us in the run up to 2012. Quote
Stiel Posted September 4, 2011 Posted September 4, 2011 (edited) According to multiple people who saw it in some top secret catalogue, there is: - a Roman soldier/centurion/phalanx (whatever you want to call it), with the usual long spear and new tower shield, and - a celtic warrior, which should be the same as the highlander already seen. So, anyway, there you go, Roman soldier. Yet another minifig for historic army builders. Edit: I'm talking about series 6, of course. Edited September 4, 2011 by Stiel Quote

I'm pretty sure I'd buy everyone I'd find, even if they make 2,50€ per figure. Although I'd rather have seen them with the gladiator's gladius instead of a pilum. Well, they had carried both, so I guess I'll have to be content with spears as well. Quote

Stiel Posted September 4, 2011 Posted September 4, 2011 Info is second-hand, I personally didn't see anything. But, as noted, one other known minifigure was seen which we already had a picture of. Quote
vexorian Posted September 4, 2011 Posted September 4, 2011 Sorry, I missed your text about the Celtic warrior. Quote
Edmond Dantes Posted September 4, 2011 Posted September 4, 2011 Excellent - the Roman soldier will instantly become the most popular historic figure (right along with the Spartan). I'll buy as many as I can find! Quote
The Blue Brick Posted September 4, 2011 Posted September 4, 2011 I love the little irish guy. The alien torso is just . Quote
Bounty Hunter Supreme Posted September 4, 2011 Posted September 4, 2011 Most of these already look absolutely spectacular, and a Roman Soldier, Legionnaire or not, would single-handedly make this the best series of Collectable Minifigures ever! Fingers crossed that that rumour is true. Quote
Sirens-of-Titan Posted September 4, 2011 Posted September 4, 2011 If indeed the rumors are true then Lego would have struck at the heart of the AFOL nerve; a Roman soldier will warrant incredible sales and along with the rest of the already great series, should skyrocket series 6 to the top of the chart. LEGOMAN132 Posted September 5, 2011 Posted September 5, 2011 (edited) With the Roman soldier I can make a legion hazah. Edited September 5, 2011 by LEGOMAN132 Quote
Niku Posted September 5, 2011 Posted September 5, 2011 A Roman Legionaire would be along with the Spartan and perhaps the Elf one of the most popular Historic Minifigs. A huge success. Quote
Ardelon Posted September 5, 2011 Posted September 5, 2011 Are we sure there will be 16 minifigs? Is there a precedent of not revealing or leaking all the figs in one go? Quote
lightningtiger Posted September 5, 2011 Posted September 5, 2011 Are we sure there will be 16 minifigs? Is there a precedent of not revealing or leaking all the figs in one go? Normally is there 16, we can assume there will be 16 in total......but series 6 is not due until January....so more images should only be a month or so away....fingers crossed. Quote
captainsamus Posted September 5, 2011 Posted September 5, 2011 Anyone read the shop at home description for Series 5? With 16 all-new, special minifigures in Series 5, you can grow your LEGO® minifigure collection instantly! Which one will you get when you open the mystery bag? Each minifigure comes in a sealed mystery bag, so you never know which minifigure you might get. Each character has its own special accessories, display plate and collector’s leaflet. Inspired by movies, sports, history and just everyday life, this collection includes: Fitness Instructor, Flamenco Dancer, Lizard Man, Lumberjack Gladiator, Small Clown, Egyptian Queen, Evil Dwarf, Boxer, Ice Fisherman, Jungle Boy, Graduate, Royal Guard, Cave Woman, Detective, and Gangster! Collect all 16 Maybe a hint at 2 of series 6 figures? Falmenco Dancer, and jungle boy Pretty odd. I remember seeing some sites mentioning Series 1 including a Knight, so maybe those two were planned and scrapped? Quote
tafkatb Posted September 5, 2011 Posted September 5, 2011 Are we sure there will be 16 minifigs? Is there a precedent of not revealing or leaking all the figs in one go? As I recall only nine of the Series 5 figs were known at first, so there is certainly precedent for it, and I can't see any reason they'd reduce the number since they've done so well with 16 up to this point. Quote
UsernameMDM Posted September 5, 2011 Posted September 5, 2011 A roman soldier would be great. Would be awesome if it came with separate lorica segmentata armor! Quote
mo123567 Posted September 6, 2011 Posted September 6, 2011 Are we sure there will be 16 minifigs? Is there a precedent of not revealing or leaking all the figs in one go? Leaks are not planned. They are leaked randomly by random people. There is no precedent. I would put my money on there being 16. Quote
SilentMode Posted September 6, 2011 Posted September 6, 2011 I guess we now know what the new Spartan (i.e. the new hoarding figure) is - just hope there's something for me! Based on the list so far the only one I'd collect multiples of are the female astronaut, and perhaps the alien. Quote
Stiel Posted September 6, 2011 Posted September 6, 2011 I asked them for other figs seen; here is the reply for you: statue of liberty, green cobold, genie, some lady with hand fan... alien with classic ufo head, celtic warrior, roman legionnaireso far 7... all I can recall at the moment... Lady with hand fan... little vague, I know, but this should be new as well. Female figure no. 4 in the series as well, which is cool. Quote
Mr. Elijah Timms Posted September 6, 2011 Posted September 6, 2011 So when you say 'Green cobold,' I'm assuming we're looking at a Goblin of some sort. Wonder if it'll be interchangeable with fantasy-era goblin warriors, or something new?? As for the Roman warrior... this could very well cement Series6 as the best EVAH. Quote
UsernameMDM Posted September 6, 2011 Posted September 6, 2011 So when you say 'Green cobold,' I'm assuming we're looking at a Goblin of some sort. Or the leprechaun. I thought the same thing as you. Quote
