LEGOMAN132 Posted September 7, 2011 Posted September 7, 2011 I like the new Robot a nd bandit and that Roman soldier. This looks Like a great series. Quote
Rocketbilly Posted September 7, 2011 Posted September 7, 2011 The bandit looks great, even though he's not especially unique and I'm not sure how I feel about his guns not matching. Guns not matching? do you mean the colour in that they don't match the traditional dark stone colour that the revolver is usually in, or because they are a different mold and not a matched pair? as far as I can see (which, admittedly is hard due to the confidential stamp) they're the standard, classic revolver mould but in black. I hope they stay that way - I've wanted this piece in black ever since I got my first Western sets back in the 90's. Quote
SilentMode Posted September 7, 2011 Posted September 7, 2011 Definitely some heads will have to be swapped around, but there are quite a few figures I'll be adding to my collection from this set. Even the Roman (which no doubt will be r... hoarded) looks sweet. Sadly the flamenco dancer is very disappointing, and a candidate for this series' "least successful". Since I was a fan of the S1 Nurse I'm going after the surgeon, but my main draws are the alien, female astronaut and the skateboarder. May also go with the thing with the teddy bear, because although the head looks messed up it really is intriguing. Hopefully the actual figures, once they're photographed, will be more appealing. The robot's "key" looks like it could be an attachment to the neck bracket, would be a very useful part if it's separate and probably a staple of steampunk MOCs. Quote

I hope they stay that way - I've wanted this piece in black ever since I got my first Western sets back in the 90's. To me, it looked like one revolver and one flintlock, although now I see that what looked to be the muzzle of the flintlock was actually just the hand holding the revolver. So I guess it is just two revolvers. That should be awesome, then. Quote
mo123567 Posted September 7, 2011 Posted September 7, 2011 Seeing the Roman soldier made me excited and stressed at the same time. These are going to be hard to get. I'm sure, knowing lego, they will be 3 per box. If they have a heart, they will put 5 in a box. Don't worry, I will buy them all even if I have to sell my house. I better start saving up for all of these and all the gas money money I will need for all the trips to the stores. Looks like these will be in white packaging. Um, any info on series 7?... Quote
Creator Posted September 7, 2011 Posted September 7, 2011 Wow! This series again amazes me and even surpass the previous series IMHO. There's not a single minifigure that I don't want in my collection. Hope that these preliminary images represent the actual ones! /dreaming ON And to dream on even further, perhaps one of these figures serve as a clue for the next Exclusive landmark set. Because we now have the Lady Liberty (to go with the Statue of Liberty - 3450), but also have the typical French mime (series 2, to go with the Eiffel Tower - 10181) and the English Guard (series 5, to go with the Tower Bridge - 10214). Perhaps the Roman legionnaire serves as a hint for a Colosseum? /dreaming OFF Quote
lightningtiger Posted September 7, 2011 Posted September 7, 2011 I might stand corrected five females, I forgot about the statue ! Our bank robber friend on closer inspection appears late 19th century wild west.....black revolvers - NICE ! Pity the surgeon didn't come with a scalpel, clamp or retractor.....my wife loves real life medical shows....I'll have to get her one to go with her punk rocker ! Quote
Zeya Posted September 7, 2011 Posted September 7, 2011 Oh, I forgot about the teddy bear......it is cute and is that a nerdy kid (Radar from M.A.S.H.) holding on to his bear.....normal legs so it is not a young child. It's an AFOL. Grown up still playing with toys. Quote
lifeinplastic Posted September 7, 2011 Posted September 7, 2011 Woohoo! Pictures! I must say I am disappointed with the majority of the faces in these series as I really dislike all the ridiculous-looking open mouths showing teeth. Sadly, the genie, skater, highlander, flamenco dancer, leprechaun, bedtime boy, butcher and mechanic all have faces like this. :-( I don't understand why people want so many Roman soldiers - what do they do with them all? I hope these are not hard to find as a result of people hoarding them. It is a great looking figure though and I will buy one for the great face. The pyjamas boy is good but this would have been a great opportunity for a sleeping minifig with eyes shut. The bandit is good, and it is nice to see wild west fans being catered for. The flamenco dancer doesn't quite look right but I like the fact there is one as I like the figs representing nationalities/cultres. The surgeon looks as it should. I agree that Series 7 will probably contain the jungle boy and I hope to see a female face with glasses and closed mouth as well as a guy in a Panama Hat plus some musicians as these are lacking here. For me, Series 6 doesn't have enough city figures but I suppose it's good to have a mix to suit everyone - that's the great thing about the Colelctible Minifigs series. Favourite headgear - Space girl's hair Favourite head - Roman Favourite body - Pyjamas Favourite accessory - tool box or magic lamp Favourite 'concept' - Leprechaun Quote
TheLegoDr Posted September 7, 2011 Posted September 7, 2011 It is good to finally see pictures. That is a lot of females, which is surprising but that is what the people want. I will agree that the Roman will be hard to find due to people hoarding him, which is great since I only want one anyway. I'm going to stick with minotaurs and highlanders personally. That is the beauty of the CMF, everyone wants something different. But the statue of liberty looks great. Quote
robotimms Posted September 7, 2011 Posted September 7, 2011 Wow! Series 6 is flipping amazing. I love the Robot of course. I don't think that there is a single fig to gripe about, they're all great! This is also going to be a costly series, between army builders and cool accessories, there will be a multiples buying frenzy. Quote
Piranha Posted September 7, 2011 Posted September 7, 2011 (edited) Thanks for the pictures I think I will getting quite a few of these. hooray for more Western to supplement the Cowboy, Indian, Chief and Mexican!! My favorites are: Roman, Bandit, Highlander, surgeon, mechanic, butcher and the lady in the dress (?). Edited September 7, 2011 by Macoco Quote
lightningtiger Posted September 7, 2011 Posted September 7, 2011 It's an AFOL. Grown up still playing with toys. What do you still have a teddy bear ? Only kidding 'Zeya'. Pity the robot head didn't have red eyes and was golden......the robot head guy from Party Rock Anthem ! Quote
David Thomsen Posted September 7, 2011 Posted September 7, 2011 (edited) Why is there another robot? I prefer the original robot... And still no pirate-era minifigs! No pirates or admirals or soldiers or anything... after six series. Oh well, could be worse... I could be a Roman army-builder instead. Only thing I really need here is the bandit, although the skater girl is rather tempting as well. Edited September 7, 2011 by David Thomsen Quote
fred67 Posted September 7, 2011 Posted September 7, 2011 (edited) Wow! This series again amazes me and even surpass the previous series IMHO. There's not a single minifigure that I don't want in my collection. Really? Not even the lady with the fan? Just kidding... while I'm not a fan of the lady with the fan, pretty much all the other ones are at least average or better. Pity the surgeon didn't come with a scalpel, clamp or retractor.....my wife loves real life medical shows....I'll have to get her one to go with her punk rocker ! It seems more like just before surgery rather than in it; examining the x-ray one last time... my opinion? Good enough. It's an AFOL. Grown up still playing with toys. I'm actually reminded of Pat, the sexually ambiguous character from Saturday Night live. I'm not convinced it's a guy. EDIT 2: Now that I look at the surgeon, how do we know it's a woman? EDIT 3: And how do we know the alien's not a woman (or at least female)? EDIT: Why is there another robot? I prefer the original robot... Because it's a toy robot, not a robot-robot. Zeya Posted September 8, 2011 Posted September 8, 2011 Alien: Still think he's shaping up to be the scariest minifig of all time. :/ Genie: Very unique. He's got a tail similar to the mermaids from POTC. And a pearl gold lamp! Roman: That shield will be super easy to identify in the bag. His helmet is curious. Does he have the same spear as the indian chief? I wish we would get some armor chest accessories with guys like him. Statue of Liberty: Nice, simple, and works well. Bararella: Lol. I like her a lot. The pink twist classic space logo is awesome (the ship/swoosh is pink there). Skater: This is the third one, right? Somehow I don't mind so much. She is pretty cool looking. Cowboy: He might be my favorite here. His torso printing looks awesome with that bandolier. I'm not sure if that kerchief is dark red or shinier than usual. It might be a CG rendering thing. Robot: Actually this guy might be my favorite. I'm wondering if that head is a helmet or a new shape of head. He does seem to have a key. I wonder if his red hands are placeholders. Highlander: That's a new sword mold. But somehow he isn't so exciting to me, and I tend to like the historical ones the most. I'd rather have a helmet accessory here, even if it's just a hood or something. Surgeon: He's great. That x-ray printing on the tile is to die for - it's showing the skeleton torso! That's funny. Dancer: Not the best fig, but she'll be easy to identify. You have to tell her apart from lady liberty though, but that won't be hard. Minotaur: He's cool. I was hoping for some more coloring on the head. Will the horns detach? Leprachaun: That hat printing is great. He's really cute. Teddy bear guy: He can be a patient for the surgeon and the nurse from series 1 (or 2? I forget). Everyone's gonna love that teddy bear. Butcher: An all-around great fig. So many uses for his accessories. Mechanic: I like the oil on the face, that's a nice touch. That hair piece is welcome. Quote
K-Nut Posted September 8, 2011 Posted September 8, 2011 (edited) Alright, I was excited by the Minotaur and the Celtic guy, but a Roman?! :wub_drool: These are all needs for me, except for the teddy bear kid. This is a fantasy/historical lovers dream! But is this series white then? That's kind of boring. Thanks so much for the pics. Edited September 8, 2011 by K-nut Quote
vexorian Posted September 8, 2011 Posted September 8, 2011 (edited) Minotaur: He's cool. I was hoping for some more coloring on the head. Will the horns detach? During the time of the leaked pictures from that Chinese site. Some pictures of the minotaur disassembled appeared. I am pretty sure the horns won't detach. Edit: Found the pictures: http://i.imgur.com/Vl2Cv.jpg Now I am not very sure what to make of it. I had recollections of not seeing the horns detached from the head, but on closer inspection, there appears to be a smaller cylinder in one of the horns which could hint that it is another piece. Tamamono Posted September 8, 2011 Posted September 8, 2011 Wow, thanks for the pics, Bane! This series looks fantastic! All of these figures are absolutely gorgeous, but if I had to pick a favorite, it would probably be either the Alien, the Butcher, or the Roman Centurion. The only 'fig that I'm not too keen on would have to be the Bandit, but I think he has the revolvers in black, so that's a plus. Here are my thoughts on each of the individual figures: Alien: His new torso works so much better than the robot's torso (obviously, because it wouldn't be his torso if it didn't look good!), but the head is really the highlight of this 'fig. Genie: You've got to love the new molds on this guy. The lamp, the wisp of smoke, the jewel for the headdress... Not much of a fantasy fan, but I'll definitely have to pick this guy up. Roman Centurion: The shield and the helmet are absolutely gorgeous, and his face, torso, and leg printing are amazing as well! I'd say this one's even better than the Gladiator! Statue of Liberty: A very nice figure, but I personally have no use for her. Spacewoman: Finally, the S2 Pop Star's hair in blonde! The rest of her is pretty nice too (especially the face print!), but the hair is definitely the best part of the 'fig. Skater Girl: I can't help but feel that the concept and hair are too overdone (although it's nice that we get some pink stripes in it this time), but it's fairly well done. Bandit: Like I said above, the figure seems a bit bland to me, but the torso print and the black revolvers are pretty nice. Robot: So this is the 'fig that that great torso was from! This is another really nice 'fig, but it seems to me that LEGO is overusing a few of their CM concepts. He seems to have some sort of neck accessory; what do you all think it is? It looks a bit like airtanks to me. Celtic Warrior: I'm not too fond of this figure, but the new broadsword and the Dumbledore hair in brown are great! Might have to pick this one up as well. Surgeon: I can't really see it clearly, but this was one of the 'figs I was hoping for. The hair net (not sure if that's the word) and the torso print are going to be very useful for Hospital MOCs. Flamenco Dancer: A wonderful figure! I'm so happy that they'll be using the S4 Ice Skater's hair in more colors, and while some people hate minifigs with teeth, I love the face. Minotaur: Another wonderful figure, and it will pair up great with the Roman! The minotaur headpiece is fantastic, but it's a shame the horns don't come off (as far as we know). Leprechaun: I have to admit, the pot of gold looks much better with the fold actually in it. Apart from that, it's always nice to get more suits, and the prints are lovely! Pajama Kid: Not the best concept, but it's packed full of great parts. The hair, the teddy bear, and the pajama torso (finally!) all make this 'fig worth it! I wonder if that bear will be used in the Friends theme... Butcher: So many useful parts! The meat and the cleaver are amazing, and the torso and leg prints would be perfect for a soda jerk! Not to mention all the military MOCs that will be made possible with his hat painted dark green. Mechanic: I'm so happy that we're finally getting a proper mechanic torso and toolbox, and the hair and the pearl silver wrench make it all the sweeter! All in all a fantastic series! My poor wallet's going to end up taking a beating this year. Quote
lightningtiger Posted September 8, 2011 Posted September 8, 2011 (edited) [quote name='fred67' date='08 September 2011 - 10:16 AM' timestamp='1315439205' post='1067305' It seems more like just before surgery rather than in it; examining the x-ray one last time... my opinion? Good enough. Ah, but the mask is on the surgeon's face....so it might be at the beginning of the operation ? EDIT 2: Now that I look at the surgeon, how do we know it's a woman? Again...Ah, look at the eye's....eye lashes - that indicates a female and my son's burns surgeon is a woman, so was the doctor he saw a few days ago....Lego might be trying to balance out the sexes. Archer Posted September 8, 2011 Posted September 8, 2011 Anyone else notice that the x-ray in the surgeon's hand is on a translucent tile. Love that little detail. Quote
CorneliusMurdock Posted September 8, 2011 Posted September 8, 2011 Wow, the Flemenco dancer is the only one that I'm not overly fond of and even that one I'd probably keep if I got it randomly. Absolutely love the new robot! If that is a wind up key... Can't wait to get a better look at the surgeon too. I want an army of Teddy Bears! For some reason I feel like watching the Ewok movies again. Quote
jonwil Posted September 8, 2011 Posted September 8, 2011 WOW. Put me down for an alien, a genie, a statue of liberty, a female astronaut, a female skateboarder, a bandit, at least 3 of the doctor/surgeon (my doctor sister will like that one too especially if its female), a leprechaun plus multiples of the mechanic (who for some reason makes me think of "Happy Days") and butcher. Maybe also the flamenco dancer and the one with the teddy bear. The doctor/surgeon is the best of the theme for me with the butcher and mechanic close behind. I recon Series 6 is the best yet. Lets hope the price doesn't go up AGAIN for S6 :( Quote
Inspecter Posted September 8, 2011 Posted September 8, 2011 This series is good but it could've been better if they had added a lederhosen clad minifig or made the highlander into a bagpiper. Quote
1980-Something-Space-Guy Posted September 8, 2011 Posted September 8, 2011 This series is pretty good! So glad it's not ending at 5 Will probably be getting all again... I have to find a better solution though. This looks like one of the best series so far. And cool, now CMF has 96 minifigures! Quote
