Haltiamieli Posted November 29, 2011 Posted November 29, 2011 According to the Brickset: "European community coordinator Jan Beyer has posted on Facebook that the Series 6 Minifigs will start hitting store shelves on or around 9th Jan 2012." Quote
ACWWgal2011 Posted November 29, 2011 Posted November 29, 2011 NICE! I'm looking foward to that. Quote
RubeusHagrid Posted December 1, 2011 Posted December 1, 2011 Its official, the bags are white Is there any proof? Quote
Oky Posted December 1, 2011 Posted December 1, 2011 Series 6 bios have been added to Lego.com and Brickset has added the pics to their library. I like how they have related Lady Liberty with the freedom of creativity rather than the US. Is there any proof? Quote
SilentMode Posted December 1, 2011 Posted December 1, 2011 That's more like it for an update. I'm starting to get goosebumps! Quote
Mr. Elijah Timms Posted December 1, 2011 Posted December 1, 2011 Bring on the Highlanders!!!!!!!!!!!!! Quote

Wardancer Posted December 2, 2011 Posted December 2, 2011 3 men in skirts , a lady made from stone, a mechanical man and a guy living in a lamp, looks like a good start for 2012. Quote
ruboand Posted December 2, 2011 Posted December 2, 2011 For this series I need a box! Best series till now! Quote
Lordofdragonss Posted December 2, 2011 Posted December 2, 2011 Ahh I love tho read bios they are full of suprises: SPOILERS! Sleepyhead: He was just having a totally awesome dream about adventuring in a magical world full of colorful knights with swords that shoot lightning…or was it the one about the time machine powered by historical hats? Alien: “The truth is around here somewhere!” This one makes me smile as I am big fan of X-Files Surgeon: She works with a level head and a steady hand despite any rock monster rumblings, dinosaur attacks or invasions by brain-sucking aliens that may be going on around her. Space Girl: Girl has single-handedly saved solar systems from black holes, rescued civilizations from cosmic conquerors and captured entire fleets of Blacktron battle cruisers. Aren't they awesome? surrideo Posted December 2, 2011 Posted December 2, 2011 With all of the collectable minifigures a lot of them are obviously based on intellectual properties but never referred to by name detective(Sherlock Holmes) The monster(Frankenstein) etc. Just doing a google search, is Lady Liberty in anyway trademarked, retained image rights that lego will have to have obtained to produce this minifig? Nope. That'd be like a company having trademarks on depictions of the Eiffel Tower, really. Plus, LEGO already released a Statue of Liberty set many years ago without any sort of trademark negotiations. As for characters like the monster and detective, I believe the characters they are based on have long been in the public domain. So there's no trademark issue there LEGO is trying to skirt. Quote
surrideo Posted December 2, 2011 Posted December 2, 2011 Cheers for that. You're probably right about Holmes and Frankenstein as book copyright dies after 100 years in the UK, and its open season for people to write "sequels". Disney would have to take over liberty and disneyize her Pooh bear or Peter pan stylee for money to be made, god forbid. In saying that the genie couldn't be much closer to a Disney Alladin genie if it tried. Wonder if they'll ever do a "I dream of Jeannie" minifig Quote

Actually, I remember a story about how the producers of the PC game Command & Conquer: Red Alert 2 had to change the look and name of their "Eiffel Tower" model (they called it the "Paris Tower" IIRC) because of some legal issues about using the real thing in the game. I remember similar with the first Resistance game on PS3 with Manchester Cathedral. Could be likeness copyright..... Wondering if any of the current or coming Minifigures are an indication of coming themes like the S3 Alien minifig was. Quote
Zeya Posted December 2, 2011 Posted December 2, 2011 I read an unsubstantiated rumor somewhere on EB (maybe this thread) that they're jacking up the price of CMF6 by another 50¢. Anyone know if that's true? I guess TRU will have preorders open soon enough... I'm still creeped out by the Alien. This might be just me. I wouldn't have minded a fun/happy face on that guy, something more stylized. Maybe it's just all those "unsolved mysteries" TV shows I watched as a kid in the early 90s with the artist sketches of scary aliens. He doesn't quite fit with the other "monsters" either. Despite his humorous back-story blurb, if you compare with frankenstein, wolf man, witch, vampire, mummy, those all have a cartoony and friendly feel going on. But not this guy. I like the Bandit the best. I also like the celtic guy, now that I can see his printings better. The flamenco dancer is more appealing to me now too, for the same reason. I can't get into the Roman centurion though - he really could have used an armor accessory. (I'm still waiting and hoping for a sweet CMF Knight! But I can be patient.) Quote
Lord Of The Fries Posted December 2, 2011 Posted December 2, 2011 Can't wait to get my hands on this lot Anyone notice that under the 'Minifigures' logo (on Lego.com) it says "Series 6 in stores January 2012"? Quote
Phyre Posted December 2, 2011 Posted December 2, 2011 After reading the description of the "Sleepyhead," and wondering once again why it has adult legs, I think I figured it out. Sleepyhead may be LEGO's version of the Sandman. It's the only way I can think of that the long legs make sense. Anyway, the whole series is really fantastic, especially the Minotaur and Alien. Can't wait for them to come out, although I still have to get some extras of Series 4 and 5. Quote
Rocketbilly Posted December 3, 2011 Posted December 3, 2011 I remember similar with the first Resistance game on PS3 with Manchester Cathedral. Could be likeness copyright..... Wondering if any of the current or coming Minifigures are an indication of coming themes like the S3 Alien minifig was. I think that was more to do with morality issues than trademarks. People often get upset when religious monuments and the like are used in fiction in a way that they seeto be offensive. I think the change was because the violence happening inside offended the group who made the complaints. My favourite figures in this wave have to be the alien and space woman because of their Sci-Fi appeal, alongside the bandit and Celtic warrior (these ones mainly for the accessories) and finally the Minotaur and the Mechanic...because greek mythology and Rockabilly hair are awesome. After skipping all of series 5, looks like I've got a fair amount of bag groping ahead of me....because I'm weird in that if I'm buying a figure just for the parts, I have to buy another of the figure to keep whole "for the collection".
