Sir_Basil_Ashton Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 The dot codes are not randomized (or that would defeat the purpose of having them coded), but rather they dot patterns change with each batch, or every few batches. The batch numbers are found along the same area as the dots. Unless you know what the dot pattern is for the specific batch that you are looking at, the dot codes are unreliable. Thanks for the info. That makes perfect sense and goes a long way to explain what I've encountered. The 2 Target stores probably had a different batch than the one's I've been finding at TRU. I can also test this out when Series 6 starts showing up at the local Walmarts in my area. Quote
AngryChair Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 (edited) off topic to another series: I have felt my way through 26 royal guards! Sorry, had to requote as that made me laugh out loud.! Back to topic though, I thought the dots were gotten rid of ages ago. Is there a sheet or .pdf with these on for series 6..? I could use some soldiers and a couple of other figures Edited February 21, 2012 by AngryChair Quote
meyerc13 Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 A friend and I have been using a combination of the feel method and the dots. We've been pretty successful using the feel method (just got most of the ones we wanted last week), but for some reason, we're still down a surgeon The surgeons are easy to identify if you can find a box that hasn't been picked through. Just feel for the 2x2 x-ray tile. It's the only minifig in S6 with a 2x2 tile like this. The problem is that the surgeon is short-packed, with only 3 in the initial case assortment. I've found three, which was the number I was looking for (need enough to staff my surgical suite in my hospital MOC), but it took some looking around (multiple trips to multiple stores) to find those three. JackJonespaw Posted February 22, 2012 Posted February 22, 2012 Does anyone (mainly WhiteFang) have any idea when the S6 Contest will be? Quote

Target seems to have a different system. I have yet to see Series 6 at Walmart so I can't confirm or deny the results. If you're looking for Roman Soldiers, the spear (length and bendable tip give it away), helmet and shield are pretty easy to identify with the feel method. Series 6 Codes CLICK HERE The 3 TRUs that I've been to have Lot 145B1. Happy Hunting! Edited February 22, 2012 by Sir_Basil_Ashton Quote

Otum Posted February 23, 2012 Posted February 23, 2012 Even after reveiving a free 60 box of this figures in our magazine, I only can say that I don't like this 6th release. Bad Quality, and only 3 o 4 original designs. Quote
WhiteFang Posted February 24, 2012 Posted February 24, 2012 Does anyone (mainly WhiteFang) have any idea when the S6 Contest will be? Not so soon, but I really hope it will be soon though. Right now, we are preparing for another upcoming surprise which will be a highlight in the Special LEGO Themes forum. Quote

Bad Quality, and only 3 o 4 original designs. I'd agree with you on a few of the figures. The minataur is very good and I also like the western gunslinger and the Genie. Not a fan of many of the other figures though. Quote
just2good Posted February 24, 2012 Posted February 24, 2012 Picked up the Leprechaun figure at Walmart today. I love the pot of gold piece. I'm going to use it as a bucket in my owlery MOC. Quote
TheDarkness Posted February 25, 2012 Posted February 25, 2012 Well the dot patterns certainly didn't match up with the box I got from Amazon.fr. A couple of them did and others were greatly different. Quote
Sir_Basil_Ashton Posted February 25, 2012 Posted February 25, 2012 Different lots have different dot patterns. I've already seen two completely dot codes for the Flamenco Dancer and Roman Soldier. Quote
Stiel Posted February 26, 2012 Posted February 26, 2012 How tall is the genie's leg? Like a regular leg, or taller...? Quote
Etzel Posted February 26, 2012 Posted February 26, 2012 How tall is the genie's leg? Like a regular leg, or taller...? 1 plate taller, so the same hight as the 2x2x2 slope that is used as a dress piece. Quote

just2good Posted March 4, 2012 Posted March 4, 2012 I picked up the Roman Soldier figure from Target today, and I now know why it's all the talk! The leg and torso printing is great, and the helmet and shield are beauties. Quote

DaleDVM Posted March 10, 2012 Posted March 10, 2012 I have used the dot patterns to great effect. Yes it is true that different lots have different dot patterns. However, since I am only collecting multiples of a couple of figures it was not too hard to figure out. The new dot patterns only appeared after the stores ran out of minifigs and a second wave of them restocked the stores. On day 1 (January 9th) I got all 16 figs and marked the packages with a sharpee on the dots. I also picked up multiples of the army building figures that day. Now after 3 months and tons of driving I am at 27 highlanders (done), 53 minotaurs (need 1 more), and 79 romans(need 4 more). I have only made one mistake in all of the figures I have obtained. @CM4S I think the shield is a little small but not overly so. Moreso the width of the minifigs is exagerated. Quote
just2good Posted March 11, 2012 Posted March 11, 2012 (edited) I picked up the Bandit figure from Target yesterday, and it's better than I expected. I love his gloves, the black western guns, and the dark red bandana. His faces is also very menacing. Edited March 11, 2012 by just2good Quote
Lucanik-san Posted March 12, 2012 Posted March 12, 2012 I managed to collect exactly half of this series, for now. I have clockwork robot, sleepyhead, skater girl, mechanic, butcher, genie, alien and highlander. Can't wait to put my hands on that amazing Roman soldier! Quote
ACWWgal2011 Posted March 13, 2012 Posted March 13, 2012 I managed to find a roman solider at the lego store. Really cool figure. Quote
Lucanik-san Posted March 13, 2012 Posted March 13, 2012 Ten packs today, with three additions: bandit and, mostly, Lady Liberty + Roman Soldier. Too bad I still can't find the space girl and the Minotaur. Quote
Niku Posted March 13, 2012 Posted March 13, 2012 They have finally arrived to Guatemala, and picked 4 packages, the roman, the minotaur, the sleepy head and the geenie. Very happy with this purchase, just wondering now what would be better if a roman army or a minotaur? What you think about it? Ps. The roman is an excellent minifig the only thing that I really dont like is the absence of printing on their back legs, is annoying. Quote

Minifigs can't have printing on the backs of their legs; it would rub off every time they sat down. At least, that's what I think makes the most sense. Quote

I dont think it will rub off so easily, I guess is to save money, as Ive heard that printing is expensive, nonetheless TLG could print the back of the roman as the back of the ZooKeeper and even in that way, it will improve a lot than what we recently have. Dont get me wrong I love the roman, but watching him from behind it feels incomplete. Quote
