Eskallon Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 Looks interesting and when I first looked into EB it was my dream to participate in a Baritones Game, However I am away from the 16th to the 23rd this month and I will not have internet. Is it a possibility I can still take part?
iamded Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 1. Your past Mafia experience (You must be a graduate of Mafia School or have played before)2. Your availability to post frequently for the next 6-8 weeks 3. Applied knowledge of the board software's use of the term "portal" 4. Your most embarrassing moment (yes, there's a reason. If you don't want to share, make one up ) Right. 1) Uuh, okay. Let's just summarise shall we? I've played in at least 12 Mafia/Mystery games here on EB, not limited to but including The Forest, Bloodbrick's Asylum, Eurodina, Hogwarts Mafia, and the most recent Belville Mafia. I um... died in all those examples. But I don't die all the time, contrary to what my name might imply. Games and results are listed on my About Me page, although I'm missing... Draggy's castle one, and that cancelled Roman one... maybe another, I'm not sure. Oh yes, and need I mention this is a Baritones game? 12 games and not a single Baritones! I need to be a part of this! 2) Yeah, I can be available. That is something I can do. I'll be checking up at least once a day, I can't think why I wouldn't. So, er, yes. I will be available to post frequently in the next 6-8 weeks. 3) The 'portal' is the homepage, the gateway into Eurobricks. 4) Hmm. This is difficult. I seem to not have any embarrassing moments, or I've placed a mental block on all of them. I do recall one time when I was about 10, I was visiting my grandfather with family. After having wandered around outside for a while I returned indoors, had a good look around, got bored and went to go find everyone. I went upstairs to be greeted by a hysterical lady, yelling and shrieking at me for no apparent reason. After being herded outside I realised I had wandered into the wrong house. It's not my fault the two neighbouring houses are completely identical...
RileyC Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 I'd love to play! 1) I've played in quite a few mafia games here on EB. I made it all the way to Imperial Soldier Mafia, went far in Dystopia Mafia, played a long with Lord Arjay in Hogwarts Mafia, helped win Eurodina Mafia for the noodles Family, though I f'd up in Dr. Bloodbrick's Asylum that sucked hard, I technically won with the Dark Ones in but I was converted on the last night. So I've been pretty happy with my mafia games at EB. 2) I'm not going away at all and I will have great availability and connectivity to play. 3) That's the front page right? Or the banner at the top of each page? Cause when you press it it says in the link app=portal. 4)Hmm that's a toughie. I once said the word breast in front of 500 people. It's only comical cause it's the word breast not boob or tit. Or once I fell out of the top bunk bed and dislocated my shoulder and didn't wake up. That's pretty funny right?
Fugazi Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 (edited) Ooh, I'd love to join! 1. Your past Mafia experience I have played in Eurodina, Werewolf, The Forest and Belleville. 2. Your availability to post frequently for the next 6-8 weeks I will be travelling a bit in late-August early-September, but I don't expect to be away from the Internet for extended periods. 3. Applied knowledge of the board software's use of the term "portal" I don't know what you're talking about. 4. Your most embarrassing moment Um, so many to choose from! Let's see... How about the time when I shat my pants in public because I couldn't make it to the toilet in time? Granted those shrimp were probably not so fresh, granted the toilet was a bit too far away... Anyway I'll spare you the details, but I had to ditch my underwear and went commando for the rest of the day -- like a true Scotsman which I'm not. Now you know. Um yeah, more travel has cropped up and I don't feel I will be able to focus on the game as much as I'd like to. I guess I'll resign myself to watch this one from the stands. Bob Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 (edited) I'd like to play: 1. Your past Mafia experience (You must be a graduate of Mafia School or have played before) -Baritones I -Witch Hunt Mafia -Baritones II -Infection Mafia -Noir Mafia -Mystical Castle -Galactic Paranoia -Imperial Soldiers Mafia -Dystopia Mafia -Eurodina -Dr. Bloodbrick's Asylum -Werewolf Mafia -The Forest -The Coming Darkness (This shouldn't count, as I had a terrible performance). 2. Your availability to post frequently for the next 6-8 weeks -Yes. 3. Applied knowledge of the board software's use of the term "portal" -Yes. 4. Your most embarrassing moment Oh god, where do I begin? a) My terrible performance in Def's latest game, The Coming Darkness. b) Killed off for promoting Fish Tacos in Witch Hunt Mafia c) Was bamboozled by Darth_Legois in Noir Mafia until I killed him. d) I've made it to the conclusion of 5 games, yet I've never won a game. Oh, wait, you didn't mean in Mafia Games. Oh well, these are pretty embarrassing too. I guess my most embarrassing moment is when I had to sing "Row Row Row your Boat" in front of my entire day camp when I was 7. I also hosted one Mafia Game and one Mystery Game. Rumble Strike Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 I am away on holiday at the end of this month or I would love to be in another Hinckley Mafia game. Good luck to all those who enter and I shall be watching with interest as time allows.
Big Cam Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 In like flint. 1. Up to six , 5 of which were pure mafia games. I consider myself a veteran. They are in my profile page. 2. Yes available 3. This can't be anything other than a time travel device for cheaters. 4. I was out bowling with my coworkers about 4 years ago and I had, lets call it a stomach bug, and I went into the bathroom to work out that bug, and it did not smell good. Well one of my coworkers saw me go in there and came in a few minutes after me, and knew it was me, so when I came out, a bunch of my coworkers were clapping for me because it smelt so bad. It was actually quite hurtful. But I later got a promotion and left those jerks in the dust. So you can call me the stinky bowler.
KartoffelViking Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 Ho-hum, I'd love to play, but may have some time commitment issues... 1. Your past Mafia experience Sandy's Mafia School: Escape From Isla Paradisa and def's mafystery The Coming Darkness. 2. Your availability to post frequently for the next 6-8 weeks I'm going on holidays from 13 August to 29 August and will have sporadic internet access during that time. That will probably be a problem. 3. Applied knowledge of the board software's use of the term "portal" I wasn't even aware of the term until "Tammo-gate" But I now understand it's our beloved Frontpage, and I have applied my newfound knowledge by creating a number of "hyperlinks" to it and navigating to it many times. 4. Your most embarrassing moment Short story: I pooped my pants when I was 25. Longer story: I had a piece of cake at a friend's place and got gastro overnight. (I suspect their dog had licked said cake piece, which may or may not have had anything to do with my gastro.) The next day I felt very sick and was lying on the sofa, resting my head in my girlfriend's lap. She said something funny which made me laugh, and I just couldn't keep it in and I pooped my pants on the spot. When I later recounted the story to my doctor, he said 'oh dear' three times.
Hinckley Posted August 2, 2011 Author Posted August 2, 2011 Some of these stories are awesome. When I ask for Mafia experience, I don't want to hear anything about Mystery, Mafystery or bloodbaths. Mafia or Mafia School experience only please.
WhiteFang Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 I have been staring at this sign up thread for a very long time and I know if I attempt to sign up for one, our dear Draggy will burn me down. But still, why should I even miss the chance of signing up! I can leave the burning later, so here goes nothing! 1) Your Past Mafia Experience? I have played countless Mafia Games and many of mine winnings are sheer luck! In addition to that, I was the suave Agent Sky in Baritones I and the ranting Willie in Baritones II. So, I am looking forward to this. For other experiences, click here. 2)Your availability to post frequently for the next 6-8 weeks? I should be around and at most disappearing for one of the weekends. 3) Applied knowledge of the board software's use of the term "portal" Are we talking about a game here? 4) Your most embarrassing moment? Tons! I can briefly mention one of those moments when I was dancing "Get Down" by Backstreet Boys when I was actually 13 years old in front of mine new classmates! Till this date, none of mine classmates forget it! Yes, I am getting down and up, down and up!
Quarryman Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 Hmm.. I really should take a break from mafia now, promised myself that I'd do that once Belville was over, but still, this is Baritones, can't skip it. 1. Your past Mafia experience My character from Baritones 1 is in the banner. 2. Your availability to post frequently for the next 6-8 weeks Let's see.. going to Finland this weekend, but back Sunday evening and with signups lasting a week that shouldn't be a problem. Apart from that my next offline period will be LEGO Fan Weekend in Skærbæk the 23rd to 25th of September, which I believe is far enough in the future for it not to be a problem. 3. Applied knowledge of the board software's use of the term "portal" I can make you a portal site with EB, the Belville mafia scumboard, and IRC in it? 4. Your most embarrassing moment (yes, there's a reason. If you don't want to share, make one up ) Oh damn.. there's been so many. I guess I'll have to go with the time when I was in the Army, and we were going to be transferred back to the Air Force (which we officially belonged to, but they sent us to the Army for training). So, seeing as we'd worked our megablocks off for about two weeks and was finally done we figured we'd go out and have some beers. And some other alcoholic stuff. So I blacked out at the pub, woke up in the toilet in the basement of the barracks about 2.5 hours later when we were supposed to leave for the airport. Then, as I was leaving the toilet I met our platoon leader who asked if I was okay, to which I replied "yeah, I'm fine". 30 seconds later I puked out the window, which was facing the square where the rest of the platoon and the company officers were waiting.
Sisco Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 Oh, so let me amend my experience... -Eurodina. Not nearly as impressive now, is it?
Stash2Sixx Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 I'm out for this, no time at the moment... Just want to say good luck to all that get in!
Hinckley Posted August 2, 2011 Author Posted August 2, 2011 I'm out for this, no time at the moment... Just want to say good luck to all that get in! Oh. The original arsonist won't be joining us...
Eskallon Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 Some of these stories are awesome. Read my earlier post you buffoon awsome host of whom I adore and aspire to be like.
Hinckley Posted August 2, 2011 Author Posted August 2, 2011 Looks interesting and when I first looked into EB it was my dream to participate in a Baritones Game, However I am away from the 16th to the 23rd this month and I will not have internet. Is it a possibility I can still take part? No, sorry. That wouldn't be fair to the rest of the players. You'd be gone for almost 2 game days...
Eskallon Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 No, sorry. That wouldn't be fair to the rest of the players. You'd be gone for almost 2 game days... Ok, well I will be watching from the sidelines. Thanks anyway.
Sirius Black Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 (edited) To play, or not to play, that is the question... I'll give it a shot. What could possibly go wrong? (goes and sees who is hosting) On second thought.... Nah, Ill give this a shot. I've been away from EB for too long. 1. Past Mafia experience: Lost in Eurodina. Went suicidal in Fabuland Houswives. 2. Your availability to post for the next six to eight weeks Nothing going on, at least nothing going on in areas without internet. 3. Applied Knowledge of the board software's use of the term "portal" Wha? . Can you give me this in english please? I'm assuming by portal you mean the frontpage. So how does one apply knowledge of that? 4. Most embarrasing moment Siriusly? You've got to be kidding me... I'm gonna go with forgetting to post in Fabuland Houswives. . That was not a good day... And there was the time when I intentionally purchased Mega****ks. That wasn't the best day either... Edited August 2, 2011 by Sirius Black
Hinckley Posted August 2, 2011 Author Posted August 2, 2011 3. Applied Knowledge of the board software's use of the term "portal" Wha? . Can you give me this in english please? I'm assuming by portal you mean the frontpage. So how does one apply knowledge of that? Yes, a very easy assumption. Most people would know that. However, read Day 5 and the Conclusion of Belville Mafia.
Pandora Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 I would love a chance to play, please. 1. Your past Mafia experience (You must be a graduate of Mafia School or have played before) Not Mystery, Mafystery or Shadows bloodbaths Escape From Isla Paradisa and Fabuland Housewives, both Mafia School games. 2. Your availability to post frequently for the next 6-8 weeks Aside from an outside chance that I may be whisked away somewhere sumptuous for my birthday (somewhere that will likely still have wifi), there is nothing foreseeable that would prevent me from posting at the required frequency, for the allotted time. 3. Applied knowledge of the board software's use of the term "portal" As has already been mentioned, the portal refers to EB's frontpage, where the latest LEGO news is announced for all to see. It can be reached by clicking on the Frontpage tab, by opening a new window (if your "portal" to EB is the frontpage and not a bookmarked subforum) and by clicking on the delightful banner at the top of the page. 4. Your most embarrassing moment (yes, there's a reason. If you don't want to share, make one up ) Well, there was that time I went camping, and took part in an aerobics class one morning - and after a few exertions my bikini top pinged off and hit the intructor in the face. Hilarity ensued. Or maybe that's the plot of bawdy "comedy" Carry on Camping from 1969... I think I have Post Traumatic Stress Disorder as, really, nothing is springing to mind. Either that, or I'm completely shameless... Will that do?
Scouty Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 Tempted to sign up, but don't think I'll have much time once school starts one again. Good luck all
Masked Builder Posted August 3, 2011 Posted August 3, 2011 1. Your past Mafia experience. I played, and thoroughly enjoyed, Fabuland Housewives. 2. Your availability to post frequently for the next 6-8 weeks. I will be around 24/7! (Okay not 24/7 but I'm not going anywhere, that and it's summer) 3. Applied knowledge of the board software's use of the term "portal." The "Portal" is the front page. 4. Your most embarrassing moment (yes, there's a reason. If you don't want to share, make one up ) Uh...This one's a bit hard..... I guess when I was told I had been staring at a girl.
iamded Posted August 3, 2011 Posted August 3, 2011 I guess when I was told I had been staring at a girl. Oh, you've gone and reminded me of something. Although instead of "I was told I had been staring at a girl", it was more like, "I was told I am a girl"... I was with Draggy visiting his grand-folks at a retirement home place, and damn near everyone I was introduced to thought I was a girl. "And is this your daughter?", they'd say to Dragonator Sr., to which he'd reply, "No, this is my son's friend, his name is-" I spent the rest of the time there standing as far away from anyone as possible. And I've never let my hair grow that long since...

iamded Posted August 3, 2011 Posted August 3, 2011 Well, that's a good reason not to wear your hair in pigtails too But it looks so good in pigtails!
