December 7, 201113 yr What I'd like to know is why LEGO's ambulances have the same colour scheme as the hospitals. Where I live, the ambulances are either part of te fire department or owned by a private company. Well, in a lot of localities (even here in the U.S.) ambulance services are indeed separate from fire departments without being privately-owned. I can't quite remember if the ambulances where I'm from are like that, but I can definitely assure you that ambulances with these colors aren't exotic or foreign in states like Virginia. There's more information here. There's also the fact that TLG likes to color-code things. It's the reason why most LEGO police stations have the same color windows as their cars' windscreens, why most LEGO fire stations are the same vivid red as the fire engines, etc. The article on the 2010 Fire Station set in this PDF discusses various ways in which kids' perceptions might not necessarily match reality 100% of the time, and so the sets should be built to match these perceptions. This means that in many cases it makes sense to have one color scheme in any given year for firefighting-related sets, one for medical-care-related sets, and one for "work vehicles" and sets associated with them like in the 2009 Garage, Tow Truck, and Helicopter Transporter. And from the old times in Denmark and Norway. The police cars were black, the ambulances were white and the firetrucks red. Now a days the ambulances mostly comes in yellow, firetrucks in mostly yellow and red and the police cars white with blue/black decor. But when we see the history of the three emergency units in TLG, we can see that they had the same colors as the cars had in real. Edited December 7, 201113 yr by eiker86
December 8, 201113 yr Certainly! 4432 Garbage truck, yes looks like a garbage truck, but with recycle stickers (I guess it's more fun to play green) I have not seen the recycling truck yet, but my growing city needs one desperately ;)
December 8, 201113 yr 4432 Garbage truck, yes looks like a garbage truck, but with recycle stickers (I guess it's more fun to play green) I have not seen the recycling truck yet, but my growing city needs one desperately ;) Here in Wisconsin most garbage trucks and recycling trucks are identical except for some logo denoting a recycling truck. In my municipality, both garbage and recycling trucks are blue, the only difference is the recycling truck has a small logo on the side with the triangles circle and a message saying something like "Whitefishbay recycles". Also these trucks have the most accurate front for the ones I see most operated by mnicipalties around here. I bought 2, one for garbage (no stickers) and the other for recycling (with stickers), and modiffied the back to operate more like a real truck. Otherwise they are spot on for either garbage or recycling. Sal WFB, WI
December 13, 201113 yr So I noticed today on the legoshop.com that they added a bunch more 2012 sets and they were in in stock. I decided to take a ride to my local TRU and they also had them in stock. I picked up the dirt bike hauler, the 4x4 fire truck, and the fire atv. They also had the new fire plane in stock. I have to say so far I really love every new set.

December 14, 201113 yr 4205 looks like its a Unimog. Yes, The set would make an excellent THW Unimog!
December 14, 201113 yr Awesome, Grogall! Any word on price? This set REALLY rounds out the Forest Police nicely.... definitely interested!
December 14, 201113 yr Wow that set is really awesome, I love it. I cant believe Im already up 10 new 2012 sets and I love every one of them. The designs are amazing. Edited December 14, 201113 yr by sneff
December 14, 201113 yr That set is awesome, but 400+ pieces and a boat hull? I'm afraid this is going to cost as much as the Bank and Money Transfer set. Hopefully it clocks in closer to $35-$40... but the Marina is 100 less pieces and has an MSRP of $50 (although it did come with two extra minifigs), so I'm thinking $50 on this set.
December 14, 201113 yr Fantastic set....that police Unimog is just AWESOME, pity the Lego City fire service doesn't have these eh ? Plus the best police/rescue boat possible ever. I look forward to see one in the shops next year, though I have a feeling this set will be a store exclusive either TRU or Target. Edit - the only weird thing.....the crook and copper are smiling plus they are in the mountains....hey, Pulp Fiction ! Edited December 14, 201113 yr by lightningtiger
December 14, 201113 yr Yes, The set would make an excellent THW Unimog! My thoughts exactly when I first saw the pictures (thanks for those ).
December 14, 201113 yr Just built the 4433 DIRT BIKE TRANSPORTER and I must say, I was blown away by how many new pieces are in that set. All kinds of things that I've never really encountered in a City set before... it was like getting a Lego set from the future. Otherwise easy build, a bit lackluster when it's finished, but otherwise solid. It reminds one very much of the 4x4 in the 7635 4WD with Horse Trailer set.
December 14, 201113 yr I think Lego really hit the nail on the head with these $20 vehicle sets. I'm not really a huge fan of vehicles from any theme, especially the Fire/Police City ones, but these are perfect. They are a great middle-ground between being easy to build and for kids, but also very appealing build and piece-wise for AFOL's. I have the Camper and Ambulance and they are great...It's rare lately to buy a $20 set and feel you are getting your money's worth, but these definitely feel like they are at the perfect price point. I look forward to getting the Garbage Truck for Christmas and the Tipper Truck, Recycling Truck, and Dirt Bike Transporter in the future. -Derek PS- Does anyone know how much the 4206 Recycling Truck will cost? It definitely seems like it has more than the other $20 sets in this wave, so I have a feeling it will be $25-30 USD.
December 14, 201113 yr Yes. Five mining sets will be released in May/June. 4200 Test Drilling 4201 Mini Excavator 4202 Dump Truck 4203 Excavator Transport 4204 The Mine Should be TRU-exclusive in the U.S. To be released in NZ in August
December 14, 201113 yr To be released in NZ in August Ah, you see those in NZ are lucky in one way....no TRU stores, general release I think sold though places like The Warehouse. Though such a collection of sets would be in my opinion the second wave for city in 2012 as on Brickset the count stands at 17 sets...doesn't leave much room for more ? Either 4200 or 4201 will be the small 8 buck AU set by judging the other three would be much larger. Sadly a real confirmation/images wont be until say March or April next year.
