Matn Posted September 7, 2011 Posted September 7, 2011 The Forest Police Station and the Crooks Hide-out sound really interesting. Again a lot of police and fire stuff, bit it looks like the designers have thought of new, refreshing things to do with the subject. Quote
Aanchir Posted September 7, 2011 Posted September 7, 2011 Doesn't look like we're getting any non-emergency buildings in 2012, except for perhaps the Bandit's Hideout, although there is every possibility this will include flick-fire missiles or something. Anyone know what the 'Friends' buildings are going to look like? Any chance that they'll fit into my City? Flick-fires in City-- a theme that as of yet has been pretty much devoid of even conventional firearms? I mean, sure, it's possible, but I wouldn't really consider it likely. I'm curious about the Friends theme as well. I hope the buildings are more substantial than many Belville buildings, even though I'm obviously not expecting anything as fleshed-out as the Creator houses. Even if "<insert that tiresome argument>" parts are used I'll be happy so long as the buildings have solid-looking walls rather than random lattices. Quote
Klaus-Dieter Posted September 7, 2011 Author Posted September 7, 2011 I had an was not impressed. 2H is better with dark blue pickup an giant tipper truc 8could also be 1H, IU dont remember well. What bothers me is incostency: car with trailer is 4 wide an pickup truck is 6 wide. Also, last mobile home was 6 wide, so it wont look good with this years camper. Thank you very much for this information, Cwetqo! To avoid misunderstandings: Will only the car or even the camper be only four studs wide? If the camper was indeed only four studs wide, this would really be very disappointing since this would mean that there for sure won't be a decenet interior included (apart from that it would really look strange in addition to Lego's current City vehicles of which the bigger ones are always six studs wide). If all of the vehicles are the same price point, then it makes sense that a single vehicle is going to be wider than a vehicle and a trailer in the same set. I don't mind so much if the car and caravan set is going to be more like the original Vacation Camper, one of my favourite old sets. I think it would make sense for the car to be 6-wide if it were a 4WD like the one that came with the horse trailer, but the set description so far is a 'car' with trailer, and car's are generally only 4-wide. Klaus-Dieter Posted September 8, 2011 Author Posted September 8, 2011 Thank you very much for this information, mirandir! That the camper itself will be six studs wide and the car four studs wide sounds to me very promising. I'm really hoping for a decent and fitting interior in the camper (and not that a disappointing one like in the 2009 Camper). Klaus-Dieter Quote

Klaus-Dieter Thanks for the further info, so this is going to be a trailer camper whitest the 2009 one was more of an RV. It had a decent interior IMO, table, chairs, clever sleeping area and the TV I have that set and I really like it. Hope we see pics soon. So there is going to be a Recycle and Garbage Truck? or are they both same set with different names? Quote
ryanfitton Posted September 8, 2011 Posted September 8, 2011 Hopefully it will be something like this: So glad I own this set I really want that set, hope the new one will be as good, the prices for that set above are really high on ebay :( Quote

lightningtiger Posted September 9, 2011 Posted September 9, 2011 A LEGO Meth Kitchen!? Finally my town layout can be complete! Only if you MOC build it ! I must say, a quad bike would be better than a three wheeler in that Crooks hideout set. Keep on waiting for those pictures ! Quote

lightningtiger Posted September 10, 2011 Posted September 10, 2011 (edited) The vehicles sound great, the forest police station sounds to be a miss for me at the moment until pictures pop up. I wonder if the Ambulance has a similar front end as the last tow truck ? Quick edit to thank 'Cwetqo' for this information. Edited September 10, 2011 by lightningtiger Quote

lightningtiger Posted September 10, 2011 Posted September 10, 2011 You didn't see a wheelbarrow? What did you say.....wheelbarrow ? OMG, I've been almost dying to get wheelbarrows for my town ! Please be true ! Quote
Cwetqo Posted September 10, 2011 Posted September 10, 2011 Yes, its true, i've seen it, but forgot abou it. its single mold, if i remember correctly. Have you seen new 2x1 brick with small bricks on it (i know it sounds strange, but it just that: brick with small bricks relief). Unfortunately just in ninjago theme, but it should come handy in city also. Quote
Aanchir Posted September 10, 2011 Posted September 10, 2011 (edited) I wonder if there will be any great new police minifigure face designs. I'm still hoping to get a head I can use for an Axe Cop minifigure. Unfortunately, there don't at this time exist any faces that include both sunglasses and a mustache. David Thomsen Posted September 11, 2011 Posted September 11, 2011 (edited) A wheelbarrow would be perfect for a return to the construction theme... and considering that when they create a new mould they usually have long-term plans for it already, and also we haven't seen construction in a long time, I wouldn't be surprised if this was a precursor to a return of the theme. If we have fire, police and construction all in the same year... that makes it a very uninteresting year for me. But it's to be expected when they separate the 'civilian' buildings into the 'Friends' theme, all that will be left in the City theme is this kind of thing. Alywin Posted September 11, 2011 Posted September 11, 2011 A bear out from its hideout to eat honey, with some kind of forest police station around to guard against... But it's to be expected when they separate the 'civilian' buildings into the 'Friends' theme, all that will be left in the City theme is this kind of thing. To assume they're going to do that is to assume that the female audience is the only reason they kept those "civilian" buildings around at all, which frankly makes no sense. Paradisa and Belville didn't stop there from being "civilian" sets during those themes' lifespans. And furthermore, I don't think "Friends" will have any impact on City at all. The only reason people make a connection between them is because early info (before we had a name or even the faintest idea of what the sets would be like) suggested that when the foretold girls' theme did occur, it would be an offshoot of City. No information since then has even hinted at this. There are some City sets that girls are somewhat more likely to enjoy, like the 4WD and Horse Trailer. But boys are still the main audience for those sets. Girls also like the Harry Potter theme a lot, and nobody's suggesting that it will end because of "Friends". Quote

Jargo Posted September 12, 2011 Posted September 12, 2011 WHEELBARROW! Tan seems an odd colour. I would have thought one of the greys or black or dark blue. Still it's about time we got a barrow. Such a useful item. I'm dying to see it. Quote
Rocketbilly Posted September 12, 2011 Posted September 12, 2011 sorry for the double post. my mouse buttons are playing up. please delete this post. I think the tan element he's talking about is the new 1X2 Brick with moulded brick wall details that is apparently appearing in the new Ninjago sets, not the new wheelbarrow. Then again, we've had a red crowbar, and while you do get red crowbars in real life, it's certainly not the most common crowbar hue... But yeah, I'm pretty sure the tan element he's referring to in not the wheelbarrow. Quote
---Vertea--- Posted September 12, 2011 Posted September 12, 2011 I'm stoked for the beehive. If it's a new piece, then cool, if it's brick-built then I'm eager to see what clever mechanic is employed to convey it. Do we get bees, I wonder? The bear sound promising, too. I'm guessing we'll get a smoothed-out brown or black version of the polar bear mold with perhaps eyes pr markings printed- like what we got with the new dog mold. A wheelbarrow would be fantastic. And please, oh PLEASE give us a new type of criminal! Quote
