A couple days ago I begun my CB MOC. Originally I was going to creat one of my favorite scenes from the movie, the TIE fighter/Mellenium Falcon battle after escaping the Death Star. But after fallenangel revealed to me just how big a Falcon at that scale would have to be, I quickly changed scenes default_blush.gif

So, here are the pics of the incoming MOC:

Someone's shooting through the forward windscreen! :oh3:

If you want to try and fix the problem that Brickdoctor pointed out, you might want to attach a pair of binoculars to the underside of the central bubble. Then put in the green laser beams. Just an idea, great TIE though

I'd do that, if it weren't for the fact that the laser beam was the only thing holding the windscreen in default_blush.gif

Cut flex tubing will do the trick. Or maybe a screwdriver could work, I don't know.

Flex tubing? Where could I get that? I've never used it in a MOC before, but I've seen plenty of people who have.

I think it looks fine as is - adding the binocular pieces would throw off the spherical shape you've achieved with the 2x2 inverted dishes.

EDIT: Though you may want to make the wings a tad bigger. :classic:

You could try Bricklink.com, always gerat for those rare hard to get parts or if you just want to build up elements.

BTW nice little Tie. Its always hard to build at this scale but your are getting there.

Actually, it's this and the handle is cleverly hidden behind the window.

So I was right...

You can see the handle poking out of the side, but it looks pretty good  Though flex tubing might have been a bit cleaner.

Probably, but I don't have any on hand at the moment, and I'm not about to pay shipping for one piece. If I run across any, then I'll probably change it.

Nice I don't think I've seen many mini TIEs with a steering wheel as the cockpit window.

I agree. It's a good choice Legonater for the TIE cockpit.

Updated!

I'm not 100% on the wings, fallenangel could clear that up though.

Erm I don't like the nose on the X-wing, but the TIE's looking great.

Yeah, the nose looks better in person.

Updated with fixed wings, and a picture of the X-Wing in flight(?) mode.

I'm usually not this picky with MINI models, but since you asked, I think using 2x4 wedge plates for the wings would be closer to the right size in relation to your 13-stud-long fuselage.

I see the wings assembled backwards a lot, even in pictures of official sets built by other people. Is there some kind of discrepancy in instruction manuals between regions?
