Great idea and a really nice build! I love the modern look of the store and the guitar sign is just really classy. I also like the technique for building the album racks. That was pretty tricky. The interior is really nice and captures the look of your "neighborhood record store" quite well. The crowning glory for this would be to use waterslide decals to make actual albums from real bands. My lovely wife, Stacy did this for her LEGO record store. Pictures below.

That is one fiiiine modular. I have a couple recommendations, though. The body of the guitar-sign is kind of hard to distiguish with the heavy use of black elsewhere on the front. I almost didn't notice this neat feature! Perhaps another, but no-less-bold, color could be used for the guitar. Maybe if it were white or red it would be more visible? Additionally, the store feels modern on the front, but the rear and interior look a little shabbier. If the interior featured more whites and less brown shades, the overall look of the store would be more cohesive. Don't get me wrong; I like both sections. They just don't seem like belong on the same building.

Of course you can use this idea. If you got any questions please let me know and maybe you can improve it a bit more!

I was just thinking this would work well for a comic rack! I might have to change one of my planned buildings to put the comic store back in as I took it out when my own plan proved to be too bulky a solution!

I really like the modern look to this moduler. The clever magazine rack is pure win! I'd have to agree 1x1 tiles are about to scale for CDs in the mini-fig world. I like the CD racks too! Excellent job!

Sorry for my late reply, but I've been out of town for nearly a week (I went to a music festival), so I wasn't albe to reply.

Again thanks for all the comments and replies! I really appreciate it.

Thanks for the pictures, they are very neat. I might do a little research on this :classic:

Yeah, 'sonicstarlight' also mentioned this. You are quite right on this. I'll order the bricks in (dark) red with my next BL order.

Thanks for this one. You talk just like my architecture tutor (and that's not a bad thing), that a building should be one coherent piece and shouldn't be contradictory.

If I'll do a remake, I'll keep this in mind for sure.

Cheers!

Fantastic MOC, love the building techniques and the modern design to the store. The only slight criticism I would give is that to make the wonderful guitar on the front of the store stand out more, I would remove those grey grill pieces behind it.
