It would be great if the dinos are the same size as the Adventures theme with Johnny Thunder.

The focus should be on the dino, trees & foliage instead of the unique human vehicles to each set.

That would be cool but vehicles sell kids want them and its what sell the set.

What are our usual sources for leaks? I've checked BS and Flickr, but nothing's cropped up there yet. Perhaps other forums?

I think usually someone takes pictures of the Retailer Catalog, then posts them on Flickr. Can't say for sure though.

I agree, and I think that may be the reason Ninjago is returning to vehicle-based sets. Especially if it is a continuation of 'Quest. And like many other people, I would love to see a 'Helicopter VS Pteranodon' type thing.

I hope that there will be some marine dinosaurs like

ichthyosaurus,plesiosaurus and liopleurodon.

If the theme is successful, a second water-based wave would be great!

Imagine, Liopleurodon VS Submarine. :cry_happy:

It looks like we'll get another Dino attack :hmpf_bad:

What? Many of these set names sound more like Dino 2010 or even Adventurers Dino Island than Dino Attack. In particular, Dino Attack never had any "Dino Research Station" or anything similar-- any research or whatnot obviously took place behind the scenes.

The only thing that implies a similarity to Dino Attack is the presence of vehicles, which has been the case with pretty much all dinosaur themes (besides the 2001 theme, which contained dinosaurs and nothing else).

Holy unfounded presumptions Batman! These set names remind me much more of Johnny Thunder's variation of the Dinosaur theme than anything else. And frankly, I find these set names promising. I hope we get some prelims soon.

Finally! :cry_happy:

'Dino Research Station' defiantly gives me the impression it will be more like the Dino Island sets, as does the fact that there's 'T-Rex Helicopter Transport' instead of 'Battle Helicopter VS Massive god-damned DINOSAUR BATTLE!'.

Judging by the prices, the Research Station will be the biggest set, while 'Pteranodon Case' will be the smallest.

Overall, it sound very promising, but now I'm even more exited about preliminary pictures! :excited:

This just sounds like a peaceful endeavour into a dino jungle to me. I'm not expecting any huge weapons or anything. We'll just have to wait for the prelims to see the premise of the line.

The T-rex transport sounds pretty cool.

I wounder if the research lab will be fixed or mobil I imagine a bunker like lab with a fenced in area, crane and transport or jeep.

Sounds very Dino-Island! But, I am going to repeat my hypothesis: the molded dinosaurs will be base on the scale and style of modern molded LEGO dragons and monsters. It's the best comparison considering the way LEGO is heading at this time. Yes, we have Ninjago which brought the return brick-built dragons, but considering current conformations, it's unlikely they will be brick built.

Now for my less solid theory: that this is a continuation of Pharaoh's Quest. Yes , the main antagonists in that series where brick built, but considering it only lasted a year, it either failed to sell or they wanted the sets to be gone in time for this "sequel". Plus, it would follow the "Adventurers'" pattern, and wouldn't require new prints. Let's not forget a contimuation could create repeat customers.

Oh, and my last surprise "element". The reason we have not heard of a solid defining name beyond "Dino" for this 2012 theme is because "Dino Quest" is the name of a collection of plastic dinosaur toys. Wild speculation, but maybe Lego is still trying to secure the name, and that's why the product currently lacks a title?

Do I sound desperate for more Jake Raines adventures? Because I am  !

The names sound indeed very like the dino adventures line. I tought I could give up buying from a different theme but for now it seems unlikely. Can't wait to see pics of the sets :cry_happy:

Sounds great to me, I'll wait for pics to make a final verdict, but, I would like to get a Triceratops in the same style of the Dino Attack theme. I loved that theme and wish it would have lasted longer.

If this one goes another year or 2, maybe a Plesiosaur VS. Sub, thanks to landshark for the idea! Tank VS. Stegosaurus.

Can't wait for pics, Jamie

What if this is a continuation of Pharaohs Quest? Just like Adventurers went and captured Dinos.

Helicopters weren't around when PQ is set so I might suggest it could be a modern day theme to replace Atlantis.

Unfortunately this is a very good point. :sceptic: Looks like Jake Raines and his crew are a one-year ordeal. Really a shame.
