On the other site Pteranodon Case was the cheapest. Anyway, it's good to see the names 'confirmed' on another site. EDIT: I've just remembered, the preliminary name for the Atlantis set 'Monster Crab Attack' was 'Encounters with the Monster Crab'. But it's probably nothing, this sound like a peaceful theme anyway. vexorian Posted September 7, 2011 Posted September 7, 2011 (edited) Not liking that non-brick built head... Though maybe it is complete CGI that has nothing to do with the theme. Edited September 7, 2011 by vexorian Quote
LandShark Posted September 7, 2011 Posted September 7, 2011 I know I just said this a few minutes ago, but: Interesting... So now we know that it is called Dino. Now it seems unlikely that it is a continuation of Pharaoh's Quest. I'm not sure what to think about the Logo itself, it seem a bit weird for a peaceful theme (claw marks, roaring dino'). Quote
vexorian Posted September 7, 2011 Posted September 7, 2011 (edited) It doesn't matter how peaceful the humans' intentions are. Dinosaurs are going to scratch things and roar. Edited September 7, 2011 by vexorian Quote
Brickviller Posted September 7, 2011 Posted September 7, 2011 Thanks for the first 'Official' picture. Hmm, we can't tell much about it, at least the Dino looks like it will be in the theme. My first tought was Megabl@%ks, but I've had that feeling with every theme Lego has released since 2007. Even if it is that kind of dino I now I can't resist the tempation of buying at least a set with a T-rex Quote
Algernon Posted September 7, 2011 Posted September 7, 2011 Interesting... so it's just called LEGO "Dino". Has kind of an odd ring to it, but hey, maybe it'll grow on me. I don't think the picture is any indication of what the dinosaurs will look like, except yes, there will be dinosaurs. Alien Conquest's logo is a cartoon picture of a UFO, yet that had no bearing on how the actual models looked. Regardless, I'm still curious about this theme. I just hope the Megabloks vibe ends with the logo. Quote

Good point with the Alien Conquest logo, but that was more of a silouette. This seems a lot more realistic and detailed to be just a logo. I could be wrong, we'll just have to wait and see. Now I really can't wait for pictures! Quote
---Vertea--- Posted September 7, 2011 Posted September 7, 2011 I think it actually has a classic logo vibe to it. Back when lego had fun logos like the old adventurers theme logos or the old LEGO star wars logo. Quote
That_Guy Posted September 7, 2011 Posted September 7, 2011 (edited) Don't know if anyone saw this but here is a description of the Dino research station from the website: The Dinosaur research station with helicopters and jeeps used to keep the mighty dinosaurs like Tyrannosaurus rex and Velociraptor safe to accommodate and develop further research. Hmmm seems as though were getting a dino island theme here, sounds peaceful too. As for the logo it reminds me of the logos from 2006, especially the exo-force one. Either way I'm still waiting for pictures, until then looks and sounds awesome. Edited September 7, 2011 by That_Guy Quote
Oky Posted September 7, 2011 Author Posted September 7, 2011 Not liking that non-brick built head... Though maybe it is complete CGI that has nothing to do with the theme. We already knew from the first rumors that the dinos wouldn't be brick-built, so I don't see why that would be a surprise to anyone. It looks CGI, but the lack of teeth makes me question if it's not one of the figures. So now we know that it is called Dino. Now it seems unlikely that it is a continuation of Pharaoh's Quest. Again, we knew that it was called that from the start. Did anyone bother to read the first post? Quote
---Vertea--- Posted September 7, 2011 Posted September 7, 2011 If the figures looked like that, I would be one happy panda. Quote

---Vertea--- Posted September 8, 2011 Posted September 8, 2011 Nice! It really sounds like dino island is making a comeback... makes me miss the old Johnny Thunder sets. Me too. Those dino figs were beautiful. Really only limited by their lack of pose-ability. Here's hoping these new ones will be awesome too! Especially the velociraptor. Quote

Because they were RUMORS with no supporting evidence at the time. It's kind of silly to expect everyone to treat an unsupported rumor the same as a proven fact. NOW we know what the theme is called, and it is no longer a rumor. Did anyone bother to read the first post? Why, is there going to be a test? Quote

Fair enough, although I wouldn't say the rumor was completely unsupported as a lot of the rumors that came from the same source were confirmed. Why, is there going to be a test? There already was, and you just failed it. I never said I was surprised. Doesn't change that I don't like it. And I never said you had to like it. By the way, I noticed a translation error. Pteranodon Case should actually be called Pteranodon Trap. Quote
---Vertea--- Posted September 8, 2011 Posted September 8, 2011 I think all arguments ought to stop soon enough... I was just over in the minifigs topic and we got catalog pics of the next wave and some Star Wars, so I would say we'll be seeing the other themes VERY soon. Quote
LandShark Posted September 8, 2011 Posted September 8, 2011 (edited) Again, we knew that it was called that from the start. Did anyone bother to read the first post? I didn't think it was 100% confirmed, that's why people were wondering if it could be a another 'Quest theme. And thanks to whoever got rid of that question mark. I think all arguments ought to stop soon enough... I was just over in the minifigs topic and we got catalog pics of the next wave and some Star Wars, so I would say we'll be seeing the other themes VERY soon. Algernon Posted September 8, 2011 Posted September 8, 2011 (edited) Clearly someone has the retailer catalog. Just gotta wait for that someone to grace us poor blighters with gloriously blurry photographs. Edited September 8, 2011 by Algernon Quote
Corydoras Posted September 12, 2011 Posted September 12, 2011 Just saw the preliminary pics... This theme looks exactly like the old one (Dino 2010) - dinosaurs vs armed vehicles. It seems to be a bit more influenced by Juassic Park movies, though. Sadly, the dinosaurs are one pieces, but have moving limbs and heads. It looks like their lower jaws can move, too. They are amazingly detailed and colorful, with lots of patterns like stripes and spots making them look realistic. The vehicles are mostly yellow with some red. New guns! The minifigs are mostly military-like guys we saw in Dino 2010. They look plain, nothing special if you ask me. 5882 - a buggy vs. a dk tan celophysis 5883 - a green (sand green?)/tan pterodactyle (or, to be more precise, a pteranodon), a lookout tower with a fish on an extended pole to lure said pteranodon and an Indiana Jones-like minifig (I may be wrong, but his face reminds me of Jake Raines!) 5884 - an ATV vs. a very vicious looking green (sand green?) raptor 5885 - a weird looking helicopter chasing a red T-rex 5886 - an odd truck-like vehicle hunting a triceratops 5888 - a really cool giant plane resembling the one from Adventurers Dino Island, a small boat and a pteranodon (the same as in 5883) There's also the biggest set, a giant high-security compound, but I couldn't get a good look at it. It has a massive gate and seems to feature a green T-rex and a brown raptor. Quote
badboytje88 Posted September 12, 2011 Posted September 12, 2011 I'm very curious to see where this is going. Can't wait to see some pics! Quote
lightningtiger Posted September 12, 2011 Posted September 12, 2011 Sounds interesting.....Dino 2010 reborn eh ? Jake Raines through a time warp.....PQ was in the past, Dino sounds now or in the future.....but again it could be a new character just using his head ? Quote
Rocketbilly Posted September 12, 2011 Posted September 12, 2011 New guns! The minifigs are mostly military-like guys ALl of this sounds great! regarding the new guns - are they by any chance like the long Star Wars blasters, but with a clip on top to attach something? If so I had a feeling this piece we saw on the Chinese eBay style site would be a sort of dart gun for this theme. Also, what are the figures like? what colours, etcetera? thanks for posting this information Quote
