Darth Nihilus Posted November 2, 2011 Posted November 2, 2011 Is it fair to assume that the green ninja (whoever he is) will get a personalized vehicle as well? If so, I wonder what it will be? Probably a cargo plane. But seriously, I'm hoping for a green dragon instead of a vehicle. A green dragon would be EPIC. Quote
squidman85 Posted November 3, 2011 Posted November 3, 2011 Maybe we will get other ninjas in other colors, not only green.Like orange-fire,yellow-light,etc. Quote
surrideo Posted November 3, 2011 Posted November 3, 2011 Maybe we will get other ninjas in other colors, not only green.Like orange-fire,yellow-light,etc. It would be interesting and an excellent market ploy to introduce ninjas from far off lands or whatever. The yellow one would be great for me on a personal level, remind me of the 1980s yellow spaceman, though there would be more print on these figures Quote
Darth Nihilus Posted November 3, 2011 Posted November 3, 2011 Maybe we will get other ninjas in other colors, not only green.Like orange-fire,yellow-light,etc. Red is fire already, and a yellow ninja would be implausable because it would look naked. Sorry to dash your hopes against the rocks of despair, but TLG is making the green ninja be one of the existing ninjas, not a completely new one. If they make other colors, it would probably bore the kiddies because they'd already have seen a ninja transform before. I would think that the ninjas will constantly adapt to the times in each wave, and that new enemies will pop up over time. I'm thinking that a Ninjago 2013 wave, if there is one that is, will have some new threat for the ninjas to fight. (Probably pig-people or something. ) Quote

(Probably pig-people or something. ) I agree that there probably wouldnt be an orange one. The yellow one could be almost camouflaged though lol The yellow spaceman never looked naked...did he? I think younger kids would appreciate different colour ninjas, you only have to look at any kids cartoon series He-man, Thundercats through power rangers, pokemon. Its all about selling merchandise and this whole theme is cynically or not geared towards the younger kids: spinning tops, collectable cards, bright coloured heroes, mutant esque bad guys, cartoons, video game. Ninjago does have a "collect em all" feel to it, it appeals to the actual kids and the inner kid in us all. Plus the fact all four ninjas have had quite an image change for the coming year, so I wouldn't be surprised to see different colours arriving. As for pig monsters, Teenage mutant ninja turtles and angry birds did that already, havent they? lol Quote
Darth Nihilus Posted November 3, 2011 Posted November 3, 2011 The yellow spaceman never looked naked...did he? He didn't, but then again, look at some of the 'pantsless' minifigs around the Web. I can't think of anywhere else those got yellow legs and 'crotch' pieces from. Maybe 2013 will have bird people? That might work. I sincerely hope that they don't do pig people If they did I would scream. Quote

My opinion is that if it would look badass as a tattoo, it'd work as a Ninjago villain. Quote

Lordofdragonss Posted November 3, 2011 Posted November 3, 2011 I want Aliens vs Ninjas! That would be awesome..... I prefer to see Aliens vs Cavemans theme. :P Birdpeople... They could use wings from Pharaohs quest! Sadly I think this is the last year for Ninjago... Or maybe it will end like Bionicle (yay 10 years of ninjas!)? Quote
Darth Nihilus Posted November 3, 2011 Posted November 3, 2011 Or maybe it will end like Bionicle (yay 10 years of ninjas!)? PLEASE LEGO PLEASE PLEASE MAKE IT LIKE BIONICLE. I WANT TEN YEARS OF NINJAS AND DRAGONS! Quote

You probably didn't visit Lego World in Zwolle because the Lego Ninjago promotion department was just insane. Everyone likes Ninjago. There's no good reason to believe Ninjago is going to end next year. Edited November 3, 2011 by Prominence Quote
Lordofdragonss Posted November 3, 2011 Posted November 3, 2011 Yes it seems to be VERY popular, but Lego is known to finish some great selling themes after 2-3 years (Fantasy era says hello). Quote
Lyichir Posted November 3, 2011 Posted November 3, 2011 Yes it seems to be VERY popular, but Lego is known to finish some great selling themes after 2-3 years (Fantasy era says hello). But Fantasy Castle wasn't much better selling than any other Castle theme, as far as I know, so I think LEGO felt the need to start fresh after a good three-year run. It also wasn't a story-intensive theme. Mind you, many story-intensive themes end early too, but that usually is genuinely when sales drop off--see Exo-Force, for example. Ninjago, if anything, seems to be becoming more successful as time passes, with a wide range of new parts and concepts as well as a full TV series on the way! And I figure if LEGO's willing to make the TV gamble after Galidor, they know they have a keeper. Quote
surrideo Posted November 4, 2011 Posted November 4, 2011 Never knew what Galidor was till I looked it up.... I have a friend in Boston going to have a look for me at the weekend but has anyone stateside seen the new ninjago in Toys'R'Us? Quote

Haven't been to Toys'R'Us lately, but I doubt that mine has anything yet. I had to wait until February to get the January sets last year. Quote
akunthita Posted November 4, 2011 Posted November 4, 2011 I have posted high resolution (legal) images of all the 1012 LEGO NINJAGO Spinners & Boosters packs. Interesting tidbit; the booster packs are in the same kinds of packaging as the Collectible Minifigures. You guys are welcome to use the images here as well! Here they are: 2012 LEGO NINJAGO Spinners & Booster Packs Pictures I really like the new kendo helmets and the new sai. And I'm in love with the misterious red samurai! Quote
Suspsy Posted November 4, 2011 Posted November 4, 2011 Are there any females among the snake people? Quote
Mikeosaurus Posted November 5, 2011 Posted November 5, 2011 (edited) Its too hard to tell. Being reptiles, female snakes don't have any er, outwardly 'distinguishing characteristics.' The only way to find out a snake's gender is to check internally. So really, any one of those snake figs could be female. But then again that's only from a scientific standpoint... phanstasm Posted November 5, 2011 Posted November 5, 2011 (edited) 2012 sets available at TRU: Linky Link Thanks, Jouster, You made the day for a number of people. Can't wait, and hopefully I'll get the smallest set, the Venom Shrine, for X-mas. It'll be great for Harry Potter Chamber of Secrets MODs, or even a Batman Ras Al Ghul Lazaruz pit mod. Housey98 Posted November 6, 2011 Posted November 6, 2011 Well, it seems the first and second episodes of season 2 will be airing on 21st and 22nd of November respectively! So (presumably) everyone needs to tune in to Cartoon Network Quote
chump Posted November 6, 2011 Posted November 6, 2011 Samurai is a girl! It's that Nya?! And she's got a bucket handle on her helmet? Quote
Delta 38 Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 Edit: I'm very happy to be corrected and tell you that, unlike this year's spinners, the 2012 ones won't be made in China, and will feature normal high-quality parts and minifigs. Woo! Okay, collective sigh of relief. Unfortunately, I still will be getting the sets because they're nice. Also, Brickset has some nice new images of the packaging. Pretty. Quote

Rubbish, the current spinners are high quality and the chinese minifigs have a better head fitting headgear fitting then the non-chinese ninjago minifigs from regular sets. Quote
Aanchir Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 (edited) Rubbish, the current spinners are high quality and the chinese minifigs have a better head fitting headgear fitting then the non-chinese ninjago minifigs from regular sets. I quite agree, but at the same time maybe switching the Ninjago spinners to another production facility means that production elsewhere is improving? After all, I believe one of the European production facilities was recently expanded. Since I'm pretty sure one reason for producing these parts in China in the first place was because it could handle that volume of production, it's possible expansions to production elsewhere will allow global production to start matching the complexity of some Chinese-made parts. Not trying to defend those allegations; just wondering at possible reasons for the switch to non-Chinese production for these sets. Edited November 7, 2011 by Aanchir Quote
surrideo Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 No idea what the early quality was like in terms of the chinese produced parts but the DX figures and spinners were the real stars of the Ninjago line up this year Quote
