My brother just unboxed some Ninjago booster packs and got one for himself . I know what it come's with. It's awesome. He sent me pics of him unboxing the Destiny's bounty. I would post pics but I can't because my computer is being hacked and he can't because he is banned.

I'm the opposite here. I like the way the mech looks though think the lack of knees in the legs is a bit rubbish...I imagine this would shuffle somewhat; though on the whole the set looks very promising and could work out to be quite economical compared to other sets in the theme if you're buying only for parts and also seems to be the best of the sets so far for action figure related parts.

On the other had, the scythe looks very fragile to me, very liable to having the blade fall off...the way the blade is going to be offset is also a bit irritating. It frustrates me how Kai gets a unique golden weapon moulded for him, while the other ninjas just have these brick built golden weapons that seem a little hit or miss.

My opinion on that is, "If you mostly like the set but don't like one feature of it, it's time to customize the build. If you're unwilling to customize the build...then why are you playing with LEGO?!"

*note that I said "unwilling, if you're unable (due to no funds, limited parts supply, etc., then it's understandable.

I know... I would have loved a trans-blue chain for the Nunchucks of Lightning. At least the spinner add on blade scythe slightly resembles the Scythe of Quakes from the show.

True; it's a nice looking piece and a nice looking weapon overall - when viewed from the side! the way it's going to be offset thanks to its construction just annoys me though it's a great use of that new part so it is not all bad....and a trans blue chain would just be delightful. Zane really got the short straw with having those shuriken as his golden weapon...well, as far as set representations go

The scythe is actually why I gave the snake mech another look, and now that I have I'm totally getting it.

Even though I like lightning (as an element) a little better, Zane is quickly becoming my favorite ninja because he keeps coming in cheap sets that are nonetheless packed with awesome. Ice Dragon Attack. Venomari Shrine. 'Nuff said.

OMG I just noticed something in the green ninja video. Remember in Home when Zane follows that bird? Well, i compared the bird in that to the one that is sitting on the green ninja's arm and guess what? ITS THE SAME BIRD! This may indicate that the bird belongs to the green ninja. By the way when is episode 3 meant to air?

I thought the Brickmaster set was a "gift" you received as part of your subscription to Brickmaster. I didn't know it could be sold in a store, but apparently you guys are telling me it is possible to do that.

Wow, I really feel like an idiot.

Seems like he may have the DK Brickmaster books confused with the US Brickmaster magazine which you have to subscribe to and get sent a set in the post every so often. At least that's what I make of it.

I don't think exclusive Brickmaster sets have ever been sold in stores. Sure, some have popped up on eBay but not in proper shops on a retail scale.

EDIT: Let's see, if I get Kai's Blade Cycle (Kai ZX + Hypnobrai Staff) and the Rattlecopter (Constrictai Staff + Lloyd as a bonus), that'll add up to $45...if the spinner Starter Set (with Cole ZX) is out, it'll probably be enough to push it over $50 and get me the Kendo Jay pack. Then, later in the year, I'll get the Fangpyre Truck for Jay ZX and the Fangpyre staff, and the Snake Mech just for fun. Perfect!

Or, I could get the first two and then a few Collectible minis...hmm, tough choices!

Change in plans, I'll be getting the Jay ZX pack, Rattlecopter, and Kai's Blade Cycle. That should be $51 (give or take some change), so I'll get the bonus Kendo Jay pack. The Fangpyre truch is just too expensive, I'll have to get the Fangpyre staff in something cheaper (especially since I still want the Snake Mech... :hmm:

Nothing major, but thought I'd point this out:

On the UK S@H Themes page (and the other EU pages), the Ninjago link has been updated to match the 2012 wave.

Unfortunately, no new sets are available, but perhaps they will be sooner than previously thought(?)

(Ive been checking every day, that was updated on Thursday incidentally) I have hbeen pondering recently...two years ago the UK S&H updated with the new sets on Christmas Day, so I wonder if it is intentionally delayed to get maximum Christmas sales on old sets?

May I ask how you find the pictures? :classic:

Once you know the naming scheme, it's easy. For instance, the main image for that set is

http://cache.lego.com/r/dynamic/is/image/LEGO/9566?&wid=2400&hei=1800

To see alternate images (there can be nine or more for a single set sometimes!) you add "_alt1", "_alt2", etc. after the set number. So that image I linked before was

http://cache.lego.com/r/dynamic/is/image/LEGO/9566_alt4?&wid=2400&hei=1800

This only applies for set images for the new version of shop.LEGO.com. For many sets before the big change this year the format is much more variable and cumbersome, and there are fewer images available in high-resolution. But the good news is that set images often get added to cache.LEGO.com before the sets actually get added to shop.LEGO.com, so it's a convenient way to view the images without needing to use the shop page (especially because cache.LEGO.com is the same for all countries, unlike shop.LEGO.com which sometimes adds and removes sets at different times for different countries).

If you view any URL that does not exist on LEGO's cache, you get this amusing image.

For all the UK based forum users. Just been in Glasgow John Lewis to exchange a double gift.

They had almost all the new wave of ninjago. Original plan was to get a refund but I picked up Kai's blade cycle and The Venorami Shrine and refunded the rest(£12.95 and £5.95 respectively)

They also had the Rattlecopter,Jays jet,Coles car/tank thing and the Lloyd booster pack.

I'd say it was safe to assume they are in all John Lewis's nationwide.

Okay, I'm still not that smitten with the idea of the Ninja's having vehicles, but dang if the Snakemen aren't an awesome new faction. That wrecking crane is absolutely awesome, and the mech is quite charming as well.

Dang... that wrecking ball crane is hard to resist. What an original idea. I gotta give NinjaGo some credit, there's a lot of creativity in this theme.

That said, I have a feeling that the price of the crane will be a little to high for me. :sceptic: Looks like a $49.99 set.
