Oky Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 And here it is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mo6NkxWKjvY&feature=plcp&context=C3385ba1UDOEgsToPDskKPA9atLbRZaEBhQcr4jlqc Looks like the four dragons join into one, and Nya Samurai X gets her own giant samurai mech. That tank looks also pretty cool, even though it looks more like something the Skeletons would drive. It sucks, though, that the green ninja only comes in the largest set. Quote
Chewk Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 Did anyone else notice that the green ninja seems to be called "Lloyd ZX" in the biggest set? Quote
Play With Fire Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 Did anyone else notice that the green ninja seems to be called "Lloyd ZX" in the biggest set? You beat me to it, I was just about to point that out. Quote
Delta 38 Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 Wow, dragons are getting bigger. I don't think that thing can fly. The Samurai Mech is nice. I hope that's not it though, surely the next wave can't just be three large sets? Quote
prateek Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 Holy crap. 9450 is just ridiculous. That's it. I'm done. Quote
SpiderSpaceman Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 I like the sai ammo belts. and I think I'll pass on the SamuraiX spinner in favor of the mech. Quote
Laura Beinbrech Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 Well, looks like LoTR and Ninjago are going to be eating up most of my LEGO budget next year... Hopefully I can have my next big ship project done before they come out.... Quote
Oky Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 Did anyone else notice that the green ninja seems to be called "Lloyd ZX" in the biggest set? Hey! No spoilers! Looks like Lloyd will indeed join the ninjas and get a growth spurt. The Samurai Mech is nice. I hope that's not it though, surely the next wave can't just be three large sets? Why not? Summer waves tend to be small for Action themes. Case in point: Atlantis. Quote

Jouster Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 (edited) 9450 is insane..Nuff said. EDIT: Don't despair, that person will reveal the other sets today. :) Edited December 20, 2011 by Jouster Quote
horizon Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 urgh, with my dislike for the current new batch waning. Kai's bike seems to have some appeal (and the boat remains cool). Lego now releases these daft (dare I see dumb-ish) designs. urgh urgh wirgh The dragon kills all the fun of the four elemental dragons. The mech is unfunny. The tank seems like a frackjaw mobile... which does have appeal to skeletons. Lego killed ninjago to me. :( Ah well, money can go to LotR instead. :) Quote
paanjang16 Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 (edited) *** looks at the 4 headed dragon *** My initial reaction was "WHAT THE BRICK!!!:@#@!#!@" As someone who has all 4 four Ninjago dragons, the four headed dragon looks ridiculous! Not to mention it is ugly and very unpleasing due to the color scheme. I was actually expecting the 5th Ninja to have his own unique dragon which comes to the rescue of the previous 4 Ninjas. Also expecting the next chapter in the Ninjago series there will be 5 separate Ninjas and 5 separate dragons. Kinda like the original 5 power rangers and the addition of the green ranger. To see the original 4 dragons get cannibalized like that is shocking. Looking at the original Lightning, Earth, Snow and Fire dragons in my cabinet, I do not think the Green Ninja's dragon can blend in with the original 4. Unless I buy it and modify it to only have 1 head and make it slightly smaller and more proportionate. Even then I will still need to modify the head to suit the white and green color scheme. By the way, I have seen before a post where there is a picture of a 4 (or maybe more, can't remember) headed dragon which is based on some European mythology. The post used to be in the Ninjago thread I think. Edited December 20, 2011 by paanjang16 Quote

My thoughts exactly. Seems, at least to me, that TLG is pumping all the awesome stuff into licensed themes and putting absolutely no creative effort into the non-licensed themes. That tank does look nice though. Quote
Zarkan Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 This may have already been said, but if so, it probably needs to be said again: that four headed dragon is the most ridiculous official lego creature EVER. Quote
Brickviller Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 For one of the first times I really begin to like this theme. My current favorite is the samurai mech thingy. The rest is a little meh..The four headed dragon doesn't look all that bad to me i wonder what the rest of the sets look like. I hope for some kind of big building like the Fire temple Quote
ghostmind Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 http://youtu.be/96a8K5Gg9gY All spinners this time, with some spoilers if you didn't get spoiled from the last reveals. Looks like there will be an "NRG" variant for the ninjas now. Quote
MakutaNocturn Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mo6NkxWKjvY Edit: Three... headed...Dragon Edit 2: SAMURAI - STATUE- MECH - THING Oh boy. 4 heads. Quote
Ceroknight Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 Only LEGO would spell 'energy' 'NRG' Quote
Housey98 Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 Only LEGO would spell 'energy' 'NRG' Actually, in one of my science lessons i had once, a group called themselves NRG This brings back memorys Quote
Oky Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 Yeah, that's actually a common abbreviation. For instance, one of Ben 10's many alter egos is named so, and there is a radio station in Germany that calls itself that. But yeah, it's that kind of corny name that fits perfectly into Ninjago. Zane NRG is blue? Why? I like the trans-clear spinner crown though. The uploader says there are still more pics of other sets to come, so it looks like this wave wont be so small after all. Let's see! Quote
VBBN Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 Wait Thats not a three headed dragon Thats FOUR headed HOLY- Well, that set looks fantastic, a truley monstrous dragon fighting a large snake, definatl a set I'll be grabbing when the chance arrives. The mech looks somewhat boring, a standard mech build. Awkward, clustered, but the chest piece looks neat. The sword was inevitible The..whatever vehicle also looks nice, but i'm not too interested in it, so a pass on that one for me And I'm not interested in the spinner sets, too pricey for me since All I care about is the figures and accessories Quote
refriedbeans Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 I knew the eyebrows on ***** matched the Green Ninja! For some reason I LOVE that dragon. Phythore looks awesome too! But I think its weird that the venomari seem absent from these sets (except 9449). Quote
Rocketbilly Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 I've found a review of Destiny's Bounty - I've read the thread back a few days an haven't seen anyone else post the link so here it goes: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kpAppSquByo&list=PL75BDD33A6DA91E5A&index=1&feature=plpp_video Quote

Seems, at least to me, that TLG is pumping all the awesome stuff into licensed themes and putting absolutely no creative effort into the non-licensed themes. Actually, I think making a dragon that is a fusion of the first four is much more creative than to release yet another dragon with the same design, just in another color again. Doesn't mean that the end result will look any better though. Quote
sok117 Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 The dragon reminds me of FGD from the old Yu-Gi-Oh series! Thats awesome! Quote
