All this stuff is incredible. I'm so glad they have a display that shows off all the sets' functions-- it's so much cooler to see them in action, even in the case of the Destiny's Bounty which has been out for a while! The functions of all the new sets are amazing.

Also, some of the NRG ninja have lightsaber handles in Warm Gold (Bricklink's Pearl Gold). I know a lot of people have been wanting those.

The Pythor figure looks epic.

More pics:

Full display

Minifigure-go-round

Samurai X

Lloyd Garmadon

The Ultra Dragon (9450)

Samurai Mech (9448) and Great Devourer (9450)

Destiny's Bounty (9446)

Ultra Sonic Raider (9449)

Woah woah woah, wait a minute. I imagine they'd keep figures from sets with the sets they belong to on the display, right? Well, if that's the case then it would seem 9450 comes with all the Serpentine Generals. Which would be awesome because I wanted to get them all in some way or another.

So, definitely want the Dragon, Samurai Mech, and maybe that Snake Motorcycle thingie.

EDIT: 9450 (Epic Dragon Battle is it?) is getting my hopes up for an awesome fight between the Dragon and the Great Devourer in the TV show.

9450 Epic Dragon Battle is a DEFINITE must-have. I must say, though, I'm not as impressed with the Ultrasonic Raider as I thought I would be. What minifigs come in it again? If there aren't enough generals for the price, I may skip it and just get Kai's Blade Cycle for Kai ZX.

It comes with all four ZX ninjas, Pythor and Spitta (Venomari Soldier)

Aww...does Pythor come in anything else? Because, really, Spitta isn't enough to justify it for me, since I already have the ZX ninja other than Kai anyway... :sceptic:

I'm pretty sure he doesn't...disappointing since I'm not a fan of non-snake vehicles and thus won't be getting the set. Definitely getting Epic Dragon Battle and a couple of Lasha's Bite Cycles though.

Alright then, what set has the Green Ninja?

Somehow I want to get all the key characters. May get the Ultra Sonic Raider if just for Pythor (of course, it doesn't look too bad. So if I get it I doubt I'll be dissapointed). But if Pythor comes in any other set I want or a cheaper set, I may not get it.

Curse you Lego. Putting the cool figures in the expensive sets...

Good marketing strategy, though.

Speaking of which, these sets all seem to be pretty big. I wonder what their prices are going to be.

Green Ninja comes in the Epic Dragon Battle and a spinner.

Prices? I'm guessing $70-80 for USR, $120-140 for EDB, $40-50 for the Samurai Mech, and $20-30 for the Lasha Bite Cycle.

Other than the Epic Dragon Battle, the Green Ninja has his own spinner set.

As for Pythor, he only comes with the Ultra Sonic Raider.

The Green Ninja comes in the Epic Dragon Battle. He's also available in a spinner set.

Overall, I've found that to get all the figures in as few spinner sets as possible, with as few duplicates as possible, you'd want to get all four summer playsets. You have to get at least the Epic Dragon Battle and Ultra Sonic Raider if you want to get all the generals, unless they also come in exclusive sets we don't know about.

Unfortunately, even if you do get all four summer playsets, there's two snakes-- Mezmo and Lizaru-- who only seem to appear in booster packs. The NRG Ninja are also only in booster packs and spinner sets.

But overall, if you buy Mezmo, Lizaru, Lloyd Garmadon, and the four sets containing the NRG Ninja, plus all four Summer playsets, the Destiny's Bounty, the Fangpyre Mech, the Fangpyre Truck Ambush, Kai's Blade Cycle, and Jay's Storm Fighter, that plan gets you every fig, with no more than two of any one fig except Jay ZX-- you'd get four of him, but since one comes without shoulder armor at least some of those duplicates will be worthwhile. I made this buying plan in advance so that when Brickfair comes around and there are staggered discounts at the LEGO store (or if there's another major discount this year), I'll be able to know which sets are highest priority for me to get at those discounted prices.

Unlike a lot of people, I'm actually more impressed with the Ultra Sonic Raider after seeing the video. It's definitely every bit as stylish as any vehicles from Exo-Force, but it somehow feels more suited to Ninjago than those with its heavily streamlined design. And its function is mighty impressive, just like most of the summer sets' functions seem to be.

I'd like it a LOT better if the treads didn't stick out so much. Part of it might also be they picked an absolutely horrible angle to film it from, from the side it looks excellent. Eh, if it's the only set with Pythor, then it looks like I'll get it anyway.

Hey, where was that buying guide eariler this year when I was looking for it?!?!

Wow. Impressive. Well, I don't plan on getting all the figures. Probably just the five Ninjas, Lloyd, and the Generals. And Samurai X because I can't resist that giant Mech. Any other figures will just be welcome additions.

And I don't mind repeats too much. I buy sets for the models, but plan that on how cool it looks, price, and minifigs. That way, I can get some of the best sets along with my favorite minifigs. As long as I have at least one of each of the figures I want, I'm good.

I'm still a little wary about the big dragon, but since we're collectors, we'll end up getting every set and spinner and booster. So I'll get to decide for myself whether I like it after I buy it. I just plan on buying as many of these as i can on sale. They seem a little pricey, well the sets anyway. I'm glad they started doing booster packs without the spinners so I can get the characters since I don't play the game.

I am, and have been since the prelims, very, very impressed by the Ultra Sonic Raider. The sheer amount of creativity put into it, not to mention the near-studlessness, is exactly what I think of when I think of Ninjago. The colorscheme may be a bit bland, yes, having no bright colors to offset the white, but that makes it able to fit with any Ninjas you could want to put in the driver seat. That was the only set I knew I had to pick up from the moment I saw it, and it remains so.

On another note, I'm significantly less impressed by the Ultimate Destroyer than I thought I would be. The use of the BURP as a bottom jaw is creative, even though it makes the head disproportianate to the body.

You mean the Great Devourer? Yes, it does look pretty generic, although it's exceeded the expectations I got from the prelim. pics.

On another note, I think we'll get at least one limited edition set this summer. Probably just another fairly large ninja/snake vehicle.

Understandable. I don't usually feel too pressured to get all the figs for a theme, and I'm not all that pressured to get all the figs for this year's Ninjago. But I have realized that if I don't have a buying plan in place then I tend to just buy sets haphazardly (i.e. whenever I get a LEGO craving), and not wait for major discounts, and so I end up spending a lot more on sets that might give me more duplicates than I need and leave major gaps in my collection.

Hmm, the Bite Cycle looks nice. The Samurai Mech looks bulkier now, I think it was better before.

The Ultra Sonic Raider is growing on me though, remove the treads and it becomes some kind of aerial transport. It looks like it belongs in a space theme or something.

And wow, the Snake Generals are amazing. We finally have all five of those snake tail pieces we saw ages back from that Chinese website.

Edit: Hey, the Ultra Sonic Raider actually does detach.

The new NRG Cole scythe looks awesome.

The dragon is not cool at all. A mesh of bricks, no style. :/

The ultrasonic thing has wings. That's it. Quite large. The colours are pretty skeleton though. Aside of the wings. Chopov could've build it.

My fav shop in the city of Lublin, Poland - "Krzys". The promotional packet is given to anyone who buys Ninjago sets for 14,31USD or more.

The packet itself looks like that (on the right):

Hey,

I know what's in it. My son received it at the local webshop when he bought Kai's cycle.

Content:

Golden Card: Hypnobari Rattle

(some sort) of foam to create a round arena. Red snakes on a light green colour. Low edges, I guess the spinners fly out.

A green ninjago bandana

the spinning rules

and an ID card to fill in adress

I'm not impressed by the ultimate dragon battle. Sonic Raider is much much better. And also that mecha is better than I expected. I guess I'll buy these two and lasha's cycle(maybe).

TransGreen wedgey plates? Alriiiight! wish I was in a lugbulking lug.

Also, love the use of the pirate guns.

Bionicle style long double ball joint up in the neck, right? Does it look fixed? Can't tell, myself.

... I mean... frell ... what are all the rice hats doing there?

The back leg is one of those things what I consider an ugly mesh of bricks.

Sidenote: only two heads shoot a ball.
