There is some "exciting announcement" regarding Ninjago set for Sunday at Comic con.

Maybe this is next years wave

Or maybe it will be one D2C set.

Incidentally, has anyone shared this before? It looks pretty neat IMO. Not an essential for most of us AFOLs who by now probably have our own dedicated storage solutions, but I can see this becoming a very popular item for kids who are fans of the Ninjago theme.

Pretty Cool. . . I might prefer spending my money on actual LEGOs, but then a storage case might be useful. . .

Snake train PL0X.

Seriously though, I think it's some of next year's sets.

After watching a couple of episodes today, I believe that it is not a train but a bus with many carriages that is then taken by the snakes and they bite the bus and it changes into the snake bus multi carriage thing.

That would be a great set.

Well, I'm pretty certain just2good wasn't talking about the "moving fortress" from the TV show but rather set designer Mark Stafford's snake train model, which was based on the Emerald Knight. You can tell this one is meant to be a train due to the smokestack and the "coal car" (in quotes because it is filled with snakes rather than coal).

Welcome to Eurobricks!

Keep in mind this statement may just be describing the new season coming out later this month. We do know, after all, that a "sneak peek" of the upcoming season was promised as part of the Ninjago panel. Even if the Ninjago theme is continuing in 2013, there's no guarantee that 2013 content will be discussed in too much detail at Toy Fair. Still hoping we might catch a glimpse at some not-yet-revealed sets, though, but I for one think we Ninjago fans should count ourselves lucky that Ninjago is getting so much attention at an event that's otherwise dominated by licensed themes.

As for Ninjago being one of the most successful LEGO play themes ever, that's almost a given considering that its first year was their strongest new product introduction ever (if I'm interpreting their annual report for 2011 correctly). It's done a good job holding its place as their second-most-popular non-licensed theme (after LEGO City), and this is part of the reason I will be fine if it ends within the next couple years. Better to end it on a strong note and leave an indisputable legacy than to extend it until its sales start to plummet and leave people wondering if it really was all it was cracked up to be. Especially when TLG has shown that they can make even a brand-new product launch into an instant success.

Thanks! Always feel good to be welcomed.

That is a good point it wasn't really clear on that. Thanks for clearing that up.

I guess we'll find out on Sunday.

Well, good news from the CM forum: we can finally make Pythor's staff, by using the flat trans-purple stud from the "Female Alien". Plus, we can make the Pirate from the third season by using the new Pirate CM, with a different head.

Darn I was going to post this, but you get this round, I posted that on the CM thread.

Doesn't look like the stud less one to me. Also to the ones still worried about Ninjago ending keep in mind that if it is still popular (Which is likely) it'll continue.

Hmm. . . Maybe you should look a little closer. . . it really does seem studless.

It depends on the image. On the packaging image it kind of looks like a plate, whereas on the other images it looks more like a tile. It wouldn't be the first time set images have shown slight inconsistency.

To be fair, the tile also seems closer to transparent medium reddish violet (Bricklink's trans-dark pink) than to transparent bright bluish violet (Bricklink's trans-purple), but that's OK with me considering that this is what Pythor's staff jewel closer resembles in many scenes of the show (closer to his eye color than to his skin color).

Anyone have any guesses what the exclusive minifigure in the Ninjago Minifigure Encyclopedia will be? Blurbs for the book say it comes with a fully-armed minifigure, so it likely won't be a civilian character like Ed or Edna. I'm waiting for the official US release of the new season to watch it (no leaks for me), but there might easily be some characters in it who are suited to an exclusive figure like this.

Yeah, I'm not sure about it being trans-purple/violet color either. . . I do think it's studless though (although sometimes it seems like it has a stud). For it to have a stud would just make the alien queen too boring. :sceptic:

A fully armed minifig. . . I don't know - maybe a pirate? Maybe it could be a previously released minifig (Lord Garmadon 4-arms, for example)?
