Perry the Platypus Posted July 20, 2012 Posted July 20, 2012 Just got the Fangdam spinner. Really glad to get another Fangpyre tribe member, as the only one I had before was Fang Suei from the Rattlecoptor. Great cards and translucent red spinner and crown. 10/10 for minifigure and parts. Quote
DraikNova Posted July 21, 2012 Posted July 21, 2012 (edited) In my opinion, the best spinner and figure in Ninjago (and probably the best minifigure ever) is NRG Jay. I mean, metallic cobalt printing! Who doesn't like that? EDIT: After seeing the latest episode, I really hope they make the Grundle into an actual set. I was disappointed though that Lloyd is now older. Edited July 21, 2012 by DraikNova Quote

I actully don't think the Grundle is so cool. . . an the fact that is has already been destroyed makes me think it won't be a set. Personally, I was guessing that Lloyd woud become taller. . . he had to sometime, and if I recall correctly, this will air in hte US just in time for his spinner. Quote
DraikNova Posted July 21, 2012 Posted July 21, 2012 Well, the bite cycle only appears for one episode, and isn´t even the main plot point. So here´s a list of possible sets to tie in with season 3: Grundle (With mini-ninja, Lloyd and either Lord Garmadon or the comic writer) Black Bounty (with pirates, serpentine and Lord Garmadon) Mojo Dojo (With Dareth, Lloyd and the ninja) Quote

But oh well. I do think the Dojo and the Black Bounty have potential though. And you're right about the Bite Cycle. . . but that does have several other ways it could tie into the story - besides wasn't it also in the Fangpyre army? Quote
Tobias_Jay Posted July 22, 2012 Posted July 22, 2012 I can't trust Brickipedia anymore . They said the Epic Dragon Battle would be $200.00 but I found it yesterday at Kmart for $149.99! Quote
DraikNova Posted July 22, 2012 Posted July 22, 2012 (edited) That's canadian dollars right? Edited July 22, 2012 by DraikNova Quote

DraikNova Posted July 22, 2012 Posted July 22, 2012 Oh. Anyway, I've made modifications on my USR, so that it can fit three ninja in the front and two in the flying part of it. So now all of the ninja can fit in the USR, I'm going to add an extra pair of exhausts. I'm going to try and make it more like the show version. Quote

It's most significant in The Rise of the Great Devourer, where it is present in the main chase scene, but there are several Bite Cycles in Snakebit as the Serpentine are fleeing the junkyard. Back when Snakebit hadn't yet aired and the Bite Cycle hadn't been revealed at all, people (including myself) were speculating about the vehicles in one of the trailers which looked like Fangpyre Trucks but didn't have the distinctive four wheels. DraikNova Posted July 22, 2012 Posted July 22, 2012 I know, I was there but didn't have an account at the time. Anyway, I think the best vehicle I've seen in Ninjago is definitely the USR. It's just so awesome. Quote
Ash Posted July 23, 2012 Posted July 23, 2012 Son and I built and played with the Samurai Mech over the weekend. I feel in love with the set while building it and fell out of love with it while playing it. The build was just really cool and interesting. Lots and lots of really cool pieces (especially SNOT hinges) and the torso and legs are really solid. There's just some really clever and interesting build techniques and some older pieces put to really original uses. But for play.... it's a bit too delicate. Despite the huge feet it doesn't balance really well and I found several bit were prone to falling off when you looked at them wrong: specifically the shoulder armour and head. Kid was very diappointed and frustrated and didn't actually play with it that long. It's still and interesting and original set though. Quote
DraikNova Posted July 23, 2012 Posted July 23, 2012 I'm planning to mod it into the show version. I'm even going to add a removable seat with robotic control arms for Sensei Wu. The way the mech opens is another thing I'm going to change. Quote
Kalhiki Posted July 23, 2012 Posted July 23, 2012 Aside from balancing, I have no problems with the Mech. Probably on of my favorite sets, as a matter of fact. But that's just my opinion. Kalhiki Quote

I don't ahve it, (alhtough I'm hoping to get it), but I can't see how yu could do that! I'm planning to mod it into the show version. I changed the water gun for a cannon though. Quote

I just added a 2x6 plate to the top and the bottom, put the curve forward a little and covered the gap with one of the 2x6's. I also replaced the slope at the back with two 1x2 bricks stacked on top of each other. Hmmm. . . I don't think a robotic seat would be that easy. I changed the water gun for a cannon though. I believe that "water cannon" supposed to be a laser, and I'm planning to change that too. And I've already come up with a list of neccesary parts. Quote
TheRedGuy Posted July 24, 2012 Posted July 24, 2012 I think the mech is not only bad on balance, but also appearance. I can guarantee no one can convince me to like that.... Thing. It's a good parts pack tough. Quote

It's a good parts pack tough. Actually, it looks a LOT better in real life than in the pictures. . . LEGO always seems to pick the worst stances for their robots! Anyway, it certainly has som great peices! BTW, Brickipedia listed (for a very short time) Dareth's Mojo Dojo as a 2013 Ninjago set. Personally I don't really beleive it (they said that it would include only Captain Soto, No-eyed Pete, and Dareth - no ninja?), although I would like a more acurate Dojo than the 2011 one. . . Quote
PenPlays Posted July 24, 2012 Posted July 24, 2012 (edited) I just got the USR. Favorite Ninja Vehicle by far! When it comes to moding it I just removed the brown slopes from the cockpits. The ninja at the frontmost seat wears shoulder armor, the rest are armorless (I used the snake jail to store the extra parts). Two Ninja each cockpit. And regarding the Samurai mech: I attached its laser to its arm and replace the laser's original position with a cannon. Edited July 24, 2012 by Penkid11 Quote

I'm part of the admin team there and I don't recall this being posted... There was a surge in Ninjago 2013 pages when the first episode of the new series came out, but most of the unsourced stuff is deleted on sight within a few minutes, and where it might be legit it's discussed heavily before coming to a decision. ...Of course, it would make a nice set if true. Well, somebody took a screenshot of it and I saw that. Went to brikpedia and it was no where to be found, so I googled it and found that it had been deleated. Screen Shot here Quote
