JimBee Posted May 21, 2013 Posted May 21, 2013 Hope you don't mind my filler/role play bumps JimB! Not at all, I much prefer them to OOC. I appreciate your patience over the last few days as well. Sometimes updates will come in less than 24 hours, sometimes more. This week has been leaning towards more, so sorry for that. It all depends on when actions are in and when I get the time to run rounds. Quote
Brickdoctor Posted May 21, 2013 Posted May 21, 2013 That's my next character! I will bribe the GMs into dropping plenty of them for me, and then I'll unleash the storm! He's gunna be so fun! I have to get rid of Sylph somehow though. There's no way I can get him to level 50 before I want to stop playing him. If you could bribe the QMs into constantly dropping them for you, I would just do it with your current character. I cannot think of a character that would be more in-demand than a permanently Lucky Druid. (Ironically, the Druid with the perma-Lucky artifact isn't active. ) Quote
Zepher Posted May 21, 2013 Posted May 21, 2013 I also have plans with the cat suit. We'll see what happens. Since there is no party leader, its up to you to go down the hole yourselves, 68ers! Hope you haven't been too bored with the sort of slow open, but it will be lots of hacking and slashing from here on in! Quote
Brickdoctor Posted May 21, 2013 Posted May 21, 2013 Since there is no party leader, its up to you to go down the hole yourselves, 68ers! Interesting. So does everyone decide what they want to do, and are you just going to run actions in a battle in the order they're posted? Quote
Zepher Posted May 21, 2013 Posted May 21, 2013 Party leader will be explained when the first battle begins, and will be told to them each time after that. There will be a reason for doing it this way, promise. Quote

Supports/Heals are where it's at! but A. That'd be somewhat OoC for Sylph, and B. I'm planning on ditching him eventually in favour of my next character. Dannylonglegs Posted May 21, 2013 Posted May 21, 2013 No, stats over roleplaying, stats over roleplaying! Sylph agrees with you there, but since he's a character instead of a walking void-of-a-forth-wall, he doesn't recognize that I'm choosing RP over stats! ~Insectoid Aristocrat Quote
CMP Posted May 21, 2013 Posted May 21, 2013 Sylph agrees with you there, but since he's a character instead of a walking void-of-a-forth-wall, he doesn't recognize that I'm choosing RP over stats! So you choose RP over stats because Sylph would choose stats over RP, which is bad RP, which you choose over stats, but Sylph boosts his own stats so well that, whether you choose RP or stats is irrelevant because you're ultimately RPing someone who chooses stats over RP, so regardless of your preference, you're RPing as a minmaxer. That's funny, it's like the other way around for me. Quote
Brickdoctor Posted May 21, 2013 Posted May 21, 2013 walking void-of-a-forth-wall I like that description of Docken. Quote

That's funny, it's like the other way around for me. Ah! Yes, that about sums it up. Sylph is power hungry and an expert strategist! I RP a minmaxer! Which is not to say he'd break character to become a punomancer. I'm saving that for my next character, who I may make a minstrel or harlot. And Sylph would never be a Harlot, dispite its powers. I like that description of Docken. Well, at least it mentions walls... and you certainly have three... or at least one heavily fortified one. ~Insectoid Aristocrat Edited May 21, 2013 by Dannylonglegs Quote

Sandy Posted May 21, 2013 Author Posted May 21, 2013 By the way, the conversation in the Hall has reminded me to ask: when the Cat Suit's description says "dodge", does it work like the Special Dodge, causing another hero to take the Damage instead, or does it just mean that the enemy's attack is ineffective? It's just a miss. The attack won't hit anyone. The description would've said so if it did. Quote
Brickdoctor Posted May 21, 2013 Posted May 21, 2013 It's just a miss. The attack won't hit anyone. The description would've said so if it did. Ah, okay. Good, Docken doesn't have to dislike the person who gets it because of the mechanical consequences, then. Quote

Also: Thank you, O Random Number Goddess. I grovel at thy feet, and humbly ask that thou continue to layset thy blessing upon me. Incidentally, Sandy, if I'm ever holding up the Quest in battle, just mention it and Endgame can come up with a battle action for me. I'd hate to cause unnecessary problems, and I worry my diminished activity the past few days might do just that. Quote

The cuter they look, the more they are shook, and the better their pedigree, the more favour she'll grant to thee! And that's how I got those 6s 3... Yes, I do have a goatee... Brickdoctor Posted May 21, 2013 Posted May 21, 2013 Then why is he friends with Atramor? He recognizes that Special Mirror is typically a good thing, and that the reason it harmed the party was because of the enemy's Special. Therefore Atramor and Special Mirror are not evil; the Chaos Beast (I think it was.) was evil in that case. (Both mechanically and because it was the enemy.) I don't think Docken would have been that surprised in that case actually. The player had a special ability; the enemy had a Special that took advantage of it. Docken's kind of used to enemies that for some reason seem built to Knock him Out. And he knows all this because he's the "walking void-of-a-fourth-wall". Quote
Zepher Posted May 21, 2013 Posted May 21, 2013 First battle post in two months (think that's the longest I've gone since the start of Heroica without posting a battle). I feel strongly like I'm forgetting something. Aw well, here we go. Quote
Flipz Posted May 21, 2013 Posted May 21, 2013 (edited) You forgot to explain what "Afflicted" means. What DOES that mean, anyway, and how did Althior contract it? Edited May 21, 2013 by Flipz Quote

Quarryman Posted May 21, 2013 Posted May 21, 2013 Not sure if I've missed out on something here or not, so I figured I'd ask again; what was the final verdict about Mediq? (if there ever was one..) Will he be unlimited use, or usable only three times? Quote
