Dannylonglegs Posted May 21, 2013 Posted May 21, 2013 Who knows?! It's almost as if y'all got yourselves into a Zepher Quest! If I say a pun in the discussion thread, does that mean Althior can't use it? ~Insectoid Aristocrat Quote
Flipz Posted May 21, 2013 Posted May 21, 2013 Not sure if I've missed out on something here or not, so I figured I'd ask again; what was the final verdict about Mediq? (if there ever was one..) Will he be unlimited use, or usable only three times? I know that I supported unlimited use, since it carries a decent Ether cost. Quote
Flare Posted May 21, 2013 Posted May 21, 2013 You forgot to explain what "Afflicted" means. What DOES that mean, anyway, and how did Althior contract it? At the beginning of the quest he left the party, and did unknown things in the woods. So thats probably how. Quote
Zepher Posted May 21, 2013 Posted May 21, 2013 He got poison ivy while going to the bathroom. I didn't want to say it outright because it was embarrassing. Quote

Dannylonglegs Posted May 21, 2013 Posted May 21, 2013 Uh-huh My sentiments exactly. Let's all ignore the modifier now, shall we. ~Insectoid Aristocrat Quote
Vash the Stampede Posted May 21, 2013 Posted May 21, 2013 One thing is certain. Black Knights would never survive in an army. I don't know. Assuming an opposing army is made of humanoids (not far fetched) imagine rolling a shield. An AoE attack on the entire opposing army doing double damage sounds OP to me. A few attacks and the war is over. Quote

UsernameMDM Posted May 21, 2013 Posted May 21, 2013 (edited) If an enemy has dual types that weak to the same element, does that enemy take quadruple damage? For example, the rabbits in Unlimited are Icy/Beast and both types are weak to Fire. Edited May 21, 2013 by UsernameMDM Quote

UsernameMDM Posted May 21, 2013 Posted May 21, 2013 Yes. Pretty sure this was answered back in the first page or so of this thread. Well who'd want to look at that?! Quote
Quarryman Posted May 21, 2013 Posted May 21, 2013 Well who'd want to look at that?! It's actually in the FAQ in the first post: Q: If an enemy falls into more than one type, how are conflicting or aiding elements determined? For example, an enemy is both flying and mechanic, and is attacked by a wind element (sapphire). How is damage determined then? A: In your example, the two types cancel each other out, so a Flying Mechanic type enemy would take normal damage from wind spells. If the enemy was a Flying Vermin type, though, the wind spell would cause quadruple damage against that enemy, since both those types are weak to the element. Quote
Jebediahs Posted May 21, 2013 Posted May 21, 2013 Not sure if I've missed out on something here or not, so I figured I'd ask again; what was the final verdict about Mediq? (if there ever was one..) Will he be unlimited use, or usable only three times? It was ruled that all lamps will continue to function as is. The regular lamps will remain an uncommon drop that expire after a single usage while the named genie lamps (only one of each element type allowed in game) will become extremely rare drops with each genie displaying a different ability. Congrats on owning the first named genie! Quote
Zepher Posted May 21, 2013 Posted May 21, 2013 That's not exactly right - regular genie lamps are now THREE time uses. But yes, I believe (and support) Mediq sticking around indefinitely! Quote
Flipz Posted May 21, 2013 Posted May 21, 2013 Why would it not be just three times? Because Mediq is not free like the regular Genie lamps; he comes at an Ether cost (and a rather steep one at that). Plus he's named, and a really cool character at that, so it'd be a shame to destroy him after just a few uses. Quote
Brickdoctor Posted May 21, 2013 Posted May 21, 2013 From a story perspective, if you want genies/jinns in this game to be used only three times, you could make the infinite-use ones stay around forever, but each player only gets three uses before they have to give the lamp to another player. Quote

Pandora Posted May 21, 2013 Posted May 21, 2013 I also have plans with the cat suit. We'll see what happens. You do? Similarly, Nyx might also be interested in the catsuit, from a fashion point of view. Not sure if it would mess with her Magic Counter, though. Quote

Zepher Posted May 21, 2013 Posted May 21, 2013 You do? Well, it was actually going to be Boomingham demanding that the already too rich rogues give it to Nyx, and take her share of the loot from our battle in exchange, but if you're not as interested in it, then I guess they can go make bucketloads of money. I always prefer when (for the MOST PART) loot goes to people who were actually on the quest - its just better for story purposes in my opinion. Quote

I think you misunderstand Zeph; Nyx would love it (and I'd love it for her too), but my only concern was whether her Magic Counter would still work. I guess I could at least ask Sandy.... Sandy, would Nyx's Magic Counter still work with the Catsuit? Quote

Seconded. I also dislike it when people try to bid for an item that hasn't even been dropped yet. It could make a party leader pocket an item that is useless to them, but has already been sold out of character via pm. Quote
