CMP Posted May 24, 2013 Posted May 24, 2013 I PMed Sandy about this recently, actually; I believe healing is not affected by Encouraged or Weakened. (And it's also not affected by the enemy's being Fragile if you're healing Undead.) This should be in the FAQ, it's like the third time this has changed. Quote
Flipz Posted May 24, 2013 Posted May 24, 2013 I'd love to see a TvTropes page for Boomingham. I want to know what TVtropes people think he embodies. The page is really turning me onto tropes, but I don't feel I'm savvy enough to put them up yet. I do love reading them though!! On it. Sorrow needs one too. Speaking of Sorrow, I recently discovered "Epic Rap Battles of History". Until I discovered this, I was not a fan of rap. This series has changed my mind. We SO need to do a tag-team Epic Rap Battle between Sylph and Alex vs. Arthur and Sorrow. The best one, IMO, is Bill Gates vs. Steve Jobs, but in the spirit of Heroica here's the Gandalf vs. Dumbledore battle (strong language, NSFW): Quote

Palathadric Posted May 24, 2013 Posted May 24, 2013 I disagree. SP does not cover the "knightly" quality. I don't see how anyone could argue that, as any class has just as much access to SP than another. There's intimidation as well. What other knightly qualities do you want? I really don't think it would make sense for a black knight to defend his whole party. I do find it a bit odd that Black Knights would have a special that deals damage to all enemies, though, when neither rogues nor knights have that skill. Inflicting negative effects could be interesting, but may be a bit underpowered. I think it makes sense for them to gain gold, but I'd hate for clerics to be the only class who can't upgrade to a gold-earning advanced class. Quote
Brickdoctor Posted May 24, 2013 Posted May 24, 2013 Could go with the armor piercing, backstabbing Shield, then. Maybe also inflicting Bleeding at the same time. Quote
Flare Posted May 24, 2013 Posted May 24, 2013 @Quest 64 - why does Brickington have THREE weapons equipped n his equiptment? Quote
Zepher Posted May 24, 2013 Posted May 24, 2013 (edited) I finally went down the fox-hole, and have a few suggestions: Skrall: Working Class Hero MOR/The Regret (Second one more so): I Know What You Fear Ether/Spirit Pools: Power Source Baba/Poletad: Break-Out Character Wren: Through the Eyes of Madness Nyx (with Healing Staff): Healing Shiv Tarn/Thothwick: Token Good Teammate Guts/Atrmor/Althior (?)/MANY OTHERS (sound off!)/Maybe Boomers decently (is there a version for good at drinking, but still drinks too much?): Never Gets Drunk Quest 11/Quest 62/Quest 18: Hostile Weather Ella (different than her current one, but better in my opinion): Mystical Waif Russel/Pigley/Frog Paladins: Lions and Tigers and Humans Stirlance: Shakespeare in Fiction I don't know if they're all perfect/have better equivalents. Kintobor Posted May 24, 2013 Posted May 24, 2013 I like the first one better, but perhaps spell it "Raltyn"? The 'yl' looks kinda ugly. Then it's settled! Kayla Raltyn is the full name of Violetta the Cat Burglar, er, was the full name. Quote
Endgame Posted May 24, 2013 Posted May 24, 2013 I gave Sorrow's section a little expanding! Methinks that we should all stick to our brickbuilt avatars, though, and no tthe hero machine ones. Just to keep the theme of the game cohesive on our pages. Quote

But maybe you're right and they have enough qualities for knight. But I do agree to have them earn gold. Clerics don't really seem the type to get gold in the firstplace. Quote
Palathadric Posted May 24, 2013 Posted May 24, 2013 If anyone actually needs gold it's mages and clerics. Quote

Flare Posted May 24, 2013 Posted May 24, 2013 What are Overkill Gloves? If you kill an enemy with extra damage beyond what was necessary to kill it, you earn gold equal to "wasted" damage = overkill Quote

Tanma Posted May 24, 2013 Posted May 24, 2013 LDD is evil. How am I supposed to get past my procastinating and actually design a quest of a sort if it is so hard to manipulate? And tedious. I've got like one thing done, out of Mata-Nui knows how many. Quote

But yeah, I personally dislike LDD, which is why I use real Lego pieces even when I only have 2 useful sets! It helps that my computor is slow, which means LDD takes ages to load on top of everything. ~Insectoid Aristocrat Quote

(There is a reason I still use the awesome pic Flipz took instead of my latest) But you know what, I might actually be desperate to try to use my limited parts. Any tips for very limited building and horrible photography? Also, do the creators of Dastan mind if I use a remote village at the base of the mountains for the setting of a quest? It isn't set in stone yet, so change is possible. Also, for other reasons, are there different types of fairies? Quote
Flare Posted May 24, 2013 Posted May 24, 2013 Argh. Flare, why'd you have to do that? Its not like you were getting anything accomplished... I am tired of being the only one to do anything in this quest Everyones sitting around, and Benji is the only person to try anything recently. No one is giving input, almost no one has posted recently, so I found that it was necessary to start battle because we've already been stuck with these guys for some time now. Hey, at least I already eliminated one of the rocklings and another is already on our side. The battle isn't that tough. Consider it free XP and loot. Quote

It isn't set in stone yet, so change is possible. Also, for other reasons, are there different types of fairies? Iphones, to the best of my knowledge, take pretty great photos. Maybe not as high resolution as you could achieve with a good camera, but certainly better than other phone photos. As for limited building, the key is to reuse parts and to utilize photoshop or a combination of paint and powerpoint. Never build lasting sets, and take pics of the set without people so that if you need it later, you can photoshop people into it. (I made that mistake a few times in 62.) If you can, reuse sets but vary them a bit. move pieces of a wall around to make it a different wall/cover up parts with columns or 'wood.' This is particularly easy in 'urban' settings such as brendenton. If you don't have the pieces/minifigs you need, that's what Flickr and Photoshop are there for! you'll have more fun messing around in photoshop than messing around with LDD. I'm also interested in Fairies. I'm thinking of doing a Sylvania related Quest sometime in the distant future and wonder what fairy culture is like. Do they have some sort of Unseen Court?... If anyone has plans for this, I'd be interested in perhaps hosting a quest related to fairie culture/politics. ~Insectoid Aristocrat Quote

Hey, at least I already eliminated one of the rocklings and another is already on our side. The battle isn't that tough. Consider it free XP and loot. That is in no way true. Claiming that you've done everything this quest is not only false but also very rude. Have you heard of timezones? Well, they're a thing that means that everyone isn't online at the same time and therefore you ought to wait until people are and try talking to them. You never know, something might happen. I posted a suggestion, and while I was away you'd become bored and decided to start battle, without suggesting such a thing or even mentioning it beforehand. Perhaps if you'd waited until I was back and could read that the gold was unsuccessful, I would have tried something else. That's why I'm irritated, and rightly so. I find it difficult to play with someone who behaves like this. Quote
Tanma Posted May 24, 2013 Posted May 24, 2013 Oh, maybe it's my lighting then. The problem is a lot of my pieces went into this tiny fort (smaller than size of the body of an AT-AT and roughly the shape), at least the earthen pieces. And being as hoardy as I am, I just can't destroy it. Still, I will see what I can do. Yeah, I am thinking of involving the fairies with my second character, along with a hodge podge of other things. Basically it will be a chimera of ideas. Quote

Basically it will be a chimera of ideas. Yes. I forgot to mention, but having allot of light always makes bad photos better. almost without exception. (and I'm sure some of you serious photo-takers may disagree, but in my experience, Light makes Right!) If you want a dark photo, do that in the editting. My strategy is to have a white backdrop, and turn on any lights I can find and just drown the shot in light. That's understandable. In-fact, I had a creation with me at collegeland that I could have scrapped for parts, but similarly I couldn't bring myself to taking it apart. (that and I actually intended for it to be a permenent structure, unlike my other Lego.) If you really can't make the pieces, I'd suggest buying one of the expensivy LotR sets and using the pieces for the Quest. Interesting. I'm thinking that they'd have some sort of Unseen Court with Sylvania the Fairy as their Queen with four Lords or Princes (not necessarily male), one for each season, and then smaller subcourts or something. If anyone has put serious thought into this before, I'd be interested to share ideas. Edit: Someone needs to arrest Drake for hate crime. ~Insectoid Aristocrat Edited May 24, 2013 by Dannylonglegs Quote

But you have to acknowledge that no one has contributed anything serious to the quest since the 22nd. Time zones don't put us that far apart timewise If you had mentioned or indicated that you had other ideas I wouldn't had initiated a battle, but from your brief requests for my giving up my gold I didn't see that you wanted to do something else. And in any case, it doesn't really matter how we capture the rocklings And this is just a game, so lets put this argument behind us. I promise to follow entish law: "Don't be hasty". OK? Quote
