Sandy Posted May 24, 2013 Author Posted May 24, 2013 Quick question: does the damage lost count for the total amount lost in battle, or the amount of ones remaining health? Do you honestly expect any QM to be able to keep count of all the health the BK has ever lost? Of course it means the difference between the maximum and current healths. Oh, actually, another question. In cases where the loot is supposed to provide some sort of effect to the monster: IE: Catsuit to Kayla, would the stats change with the loss of said item? That would be up to the QM to decide. Quote
Dannylonglegs Posted May 24, 2013 Posted May 24, 2013 I like it. Maybe the stealing should be limited to "Steals the first item listed in the drops or n Gold (if Gold is listed in the drops)", though, so that a Black Knight isn't discouraged from targeting an enemy later in a battle after having rolled Arrogant Prick? The new Shield ignores SP, though. You ninja'd me. I just included that. Still, unless there's 15 SP... ~Insectoid Aristocrat Quote

Why shouldn't the BK be discouraged from targeting the same enemy? He's supposed to be thinking his own best interest over anyone elses! Quote
Dannylonglegs Posted May 24, 2013 Posted May 24, 2013 (edited) Also, Brickdoctor, I kind of like that it discourages the BK from retrgetting. They serve themselves. Whether they retarget or go after other plunder is on them. ~Insectoid Aristocrat Edited May 24, 2013 by Dannylonglegs Quote
Sandy Posted May 24, 2013 Author Posted May 24, 2013 You ninja'd me. I just included that. Still, unless there's 15 SP... Yes, the SHIELD-skill is less powerful in total, but it's also more useful in all situations. You give some, you get some... It's a done deal, then! I'll notify all Black Knights personally that their job class has been changed. Quote

Professor Flitwick Posted May 24, 2013 Posted May 24, 2013 I like the change. And I certainly don't mind the name; Thothwick wasn't a typical Rogue, he won't be a typical Black Knight! Quote

Overall utility has indeed improved... Especially considering that Demons and undeads are also pretty common after Humanoids. ~Insectoid Aristocrat Quote
CMP Posted May 24, 2013 Posted May 24, 2013 (edited) I like the Black Knight change. And for the record... Please tell me, who has changed it? The description of encouraged clearly says that "the target inflicts double damage". Healing is not causing damage, it's the total opposite. If other QMs have somehow misunderstood this, it's not my fault.. To me it's as clear as day. I'll add it to the FAQ, though. The only unclear case would be fragile on undead, since then healing does cause damage. I'm willing to let it affect the amount of healing done. It will ignore distance as well. Encouraged doesn't affect healing, and the Blood Ritual isn't an actual attack. The simplest solution is that the encouraged-effect affects healing the same way it affects attacks and spells. There's no need to make an exception with it. The wording of the effect might suggest otherwise, but since the power of healing is equal to the attack power, I'd go with this solution. Maybe I exaggerated, but as long as it's clarified now. Edited May 24, 2013 by CallMePie Quote

Sandy Posted May 24, 2013 Author Posted May 24, 2013 Maybe I exaggerated, but as long as it's clarified now. I owe you an apology. Apparently I can't keep my head straight with what I've said about the rules anymore. But now the final ruling has been listed on the FAQ, so we'll go with that from now on. ... I have to say that it's an odd feeling to read something you've written in the past and completely disagree with it. Can you engineer a Chef Yasmar vs. Nagure duel? Giant ogre/goblin with Tourette's versus the Yeti As you see from the picture I posted to the quest, even Nagure unfortunately can't compare to the massiveness of Yasmar. I've been pondering what to call his subrace. Hobogre? Ogroblin? Oglin? Any other suggestions? Quote
Rumble Strike Posted May 24, 2013 Posted May 24, 2013 The pic is what made me post about the duel! How about Gogre? Quote

(Must say, though, I like that it's no longer affected by Lucky, it just feels better. ) Pathologically obese? Also, you might have missed it before, but while we're talking pictures and picture requests: is there any chance we could get a picture of all three of Baba's knights in one shot, possibly with Baba standing with them? Dannylonglegs Posted May 24, 2013 Posted May 24, 2013 (edited) Hobbogre? This is a winner for me! I'd love to see Yesmar fight the 'overgrown newts' with the Heroes! ~Insectoid Aristocrat Edited May 24, 2013 by Dannylonglegs Quote
Brickdoctor Posted May 24, 2013 Posted May 24, 2013 Considering that we already have seen the cave troll in Heroica and he's kind of similar, Yasmar could just be a type of troll. Quote

I think trolls are supposed to be bluish/greenish though. It makes more sense to have him be at least part goblin due to coloring and grubby appearance. Maybe a goblin/troll hybrid? Groll? Quote
Endgame Posted May 24, 2013 Posted May 24, 2013 On the subject of LDD: it isn't that bad, guys. As long as you learn how to use the group move/copy/delete functions, it is rather versatile. Quote

No, Yasmar is half goblin, half ogre. I've already made that clear in the quest topic. He has the skin color and big ears of a goblin, and the big size and horns of an ogre. I dare you to imagine what his begetting was like... Quote
