Scorpiox Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 I thought drugs in Heroica was odd at first, but then I remembered Smelling Salts and the weird drug dealer with the two face head in that one quest so long ago. Smelling salts are not a drug, they're exactly that; smelling salts. They are rather common used throughout history to revive people from faints and light-headedness. Quote
Kintobor Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 I did not expect my party to have a Wolfgang member tag along with them. It seems this quest is turning into another great edition of "Improv Night at Heroica Hall!" We really need to have a "Who's Line is it Anyways?" event. The Copper Fox hosts, and the points don't matter, unless you're Docken, in which case they mean everything! Quote
Shoker86 Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 I'm waiting to see Karie's reaction on Boomingham's wink . Party's having a little cooling off before second Endgame fight Quote
The Legonater Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 I've always used Smelling Salts as Scorpiox suggested. Quote
Brickdoctor Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 Actually, while Docken cares about rewards, these 'points' wouldn't affect his actual stats for Heroica. So unless they somehow grant loot, XP, or in some other way increase his actual stats, he wouldn't care. If he cared about a stat which didn't matter, that would in fact be non-essential roleplaying. Endgame Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 I'm waiting to see Karie's reaction on Boomingham's wink . Party's having a little cooling off before second Endgame fight Oh, no, puzzle first, then fight number 2. Quote
Brickdoctor Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 Something I just realized: Elgar (Jedi master brick), William (Volcanic), and I have all expressed our disapproval of the Wolfgang's stealing from the Houses. All the Forestman* heroes oppose the Wolfgang's mission, even though that's the faction that TLG originally used to fill the "Steal from the rich, give to the poor" role. *Although Elgar and William use the CMF S1 Forestman. IMPOSTERS! Quote
Shoker86 Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 Oh, no, puzzle first, then fight number 2. Puzzle, Fight number 2, and then maybe some cold beer for Arnulf, coctail for a lady. Flying Gumbals for Boomingham ? Quote
Brickdoctor Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 If I could make a conditional action to change back to the Hide of the Suffering right before the fight starts, that would be cool, though I don't expect it. You could let Palathadric talk to them instead, since he's a Paladin and already has Diplomacy. (Or are you trying to avoid letting Pretzel say something? ) Quote

Palathadric Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 We've been seeing how powerful the gold-gaining classes are though. They take over the Barbarians' jobs of being the heavy hitters, they can buy all the consumables they want, more or less, so they take over the Clerics job, entirely as well. Mages have their gems, but rogues can now easily buy gems and scrolls alike and create massive multipliers and a massive number of immunities as well. They can purchase Mulled Wine easily too, which is basically the same as fighting in the back row with full strength, hence the ranger's strength goes as well. They can't tank, but with the powerful SP-offering artifacts available, that hardly becomes a worry. I would hardly also say it comes down to great min/maxing, although I can't really say I know what that means anyway. But it's pointless to argue as I do think it would be very unfair for Flipz to take away Arthur's gloves now or Fugazi's either, so I guess all's well that ends well...or whatever Quote
Endgame Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 Don't worry, Palathadric, I'm going to make Arthur work for his overkill. It'll still be there for you to reap, you'll just need more strategy. Quote
Palathadric Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 I don't really know how to get sarge's stats better. I mean I already have the Dualstrike/hastened combo. That's 2x2. What I need is a hell of alot of meads that's 2x2x2. But I save alot on Smelling salts! You need to buy Nostrums. With Nostrums, the permanently hastened and the dualstrike scissors (throw in a mead too) you'd be one devilish rogue. As far as advanced classes are concerned, I think Sarge seems more like a raider than anything else, but that could just be me. Don't worry, Palathadric, I'm going to make Arthur work for his overkill. It'll still be there for you to reap, you'll just need more strategy. Well, that's another thing I'm worried about. I don't want battles thought out over an pair of gloves. Quote
Endgame Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 (edited) Well, that's another thing I'm worried about. I don't want battles thought out over an pair of gloves. Nothing major, just adjusting my effect immunities a bit. Edited June 7, 2013 by Endgame Quote
Palathadric Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 (edited) I'm no longer Inspired, Not inspired out of character? That can't be good. Nothing major, just adjusting my effect immunities a bit. No worries. Don't alter your quest because of one moaner. Edited June 7, 2013 by Palathadric Quote
Endgame Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 Eh, with two heroes with Amethyst imbued weapins, I have to step up my game anyway. Quote
Palathadric Posted June 8, 2013 Posted June 8, 2013 Kintobor, you gave Johon too much gold again. By the way, Chromeknight has helped me give Pretzel his new Paladin look. Thanks once again, CK! Looking at this Pretzel, I am surprised how many of these pieces I don't own. Quote
Flipz Posted June 8, 2013 Posted June 8, 2013 QM Note: I was under the impression Counter-Strike only worked with attacks where Heroes actually did damage? That was my impression as well, especially considering that Heroes can't Counterstrike if they've been protected by Sentinel or guardian Angel. Quote

New Pretzel looks cool. Quote
Brickdoctor Posted June 8, 2013 Posted June 8, 2013 I liked it better when gems dropped, went to mages, and weren't readily sold by a vendor. I kind of agree - when the game first started they were sort of the thing everyone wanted to collect all of, and we all thought K-nut would be incredibly powerful when he had all nine. New modifiers have been added but the gems still remain just as powerful with the potential to be the most powerful of the Damage multipliers. Meanwhile meads were increased in price but gems were made easier to get.And I should add that I don't think gems should be nerfed or that other classes shouldn't be able to stack multipliers like they do, just that they shouldn't be as common and shouldn't all be easily buyable from NPCs like Elphaba. Quote
Flipz Posted June 8, 2013 Posted June 8, 2013 (edited) I sort-of agree. I don't think any of my gems came from Elphaba, but rather from Quests (aside from the Opal I started with) and the Garnet from Grogmas. There's something special about that. Not only is it better for balance, but I feel like I earned those gems. I think that the gems (such as they are) ought not to ALL be available when Elphaba comes, but just a portion (preferably chosen randomly). EDIT: Actually, was my Diamond bought from Elphaba? I don't remember. I don't think so, but I can't recall when I DID get it, so I could be wrong. There you go, Scuba, a reference to the one unassailably badass Mage in fiction history: Mad-Eye Moody. UsernameMDM Posted June 8, 2013 Posted June 8, 2013 Elphaba only comes twice a year, so it's not like gems are being passed out like candy. Quote
Brickdoctor Posted June 8, 2013 Posted June 8, 2013 They're not exactly being passed out, but they almost are when they're readily available to all heroes for a somewhat low price (compared to how much Gold heroes can make and how much they spend on consumables) for two months a year and everyone knows when they will be available. It's not that hard to integrate magic shops every now and then into quests instead. Quote
