Brickdoctor Posted June 9, 2013 Posted June 9, 2013 Its not real arguing though Its RP (sorry Docken buddy! ) "Something... Worse? WHERE IS IT? BRING IT ON." Actually I believe that because it's roleplaying, it is real arguing, in-universe, and John Paul responded using an NPC, also in-universe. I know, it's just fun to torment PC's with a bigger threat! I'm not sure that it's something that should be done, though. You never told them before that they needed to be quiet, and they're not doing anything to negatively affect the quest, and they already defeated the enemy you're threatening them with. It's fine to be the evil QM, but threatening them to make them stop doing something that does no harm and that you never told them they couldn't do is kind of getting carried away. Wait, BD is caring for Roleplaying? This is apparently another incorrect assumption some players have about me. I've only ever said anything about other players decision to roleplay when that roleplaying interferes with a statistical or mechanical advantage; I have nothing against their roleplaying itself when it doesn't negatively affect the stats. Zepher Posted June 9, 2013 Posted June 9, 2013 (edited) I am back! Waiting on Nyx, but I assume she must nearly be back too, which means we launch tomorrow! Sorry 68, update in like 7 hours. You're almost done. Edited June 9, 2013 by Zepher Quote
Capt.JohnPaul Posted June 9, 2013 Posted June 9, 2013 Hahaha, no no no. I'm not actually going to have them attack something bigger than an Allanoid. It's something I read in a D&D DM's guide. When the players rest for the night, narrate strange noises and stuff to keep them worried all night. Nothing bad is actually going to happen, it just makes for fun. Quote
CMP Posted June 9, 2013 Posted June 9, 2013 Sorry 68, update in like 7 hours. You're almost done. With the battle, the Quest, or both? I was hoping to kill at least one rat... Quote

I know you probably won't actually make them attack something. It's okay to keep them worried. But you did it right in the middle of their roleplaying, and you said in this thread that you were stopping the (purely roleplaying) argument, and that's not something I think should be done. Quote

I don't mind the QM breaking up our mid-fight argument that most of Haldor's responses were attempting to avoid. Quote
Capt.JohnPaul Posted June 9, 2013 Posted June 9, 2013 I see what your saying, but I used an NPC to warn them. I think that was RPing too, and realistic for someone to speak up. Quote
Pandora Posted June 9, 2013 Posted June 9, 2013 I am back! Waiting on Nyx, but I assume she must nearly be back too, which means we launch tomorrow! I'm back too, but exhausted. I'll need to update my inventory from after the last quest, and I might even do a smattering of shopping in the Marketplace (maybe), but after that I'll be ready to go. Quote
Palathadric Posted June 9, 2013 Posted June 9, 2013 Sorrow coursed through Dak once again You don't know how spooky this sounds with the capital "S". I may be missing something as I didn't follow the quest very closely, but why are the heroes in 67 healing the weaker lizard. I thought they wanted to keep one of the lizards and the chicken alive at all costs. Shouldn't they be trying to kill that lizard and heal the chicken? Quote
Kintobor Posted June 9, 2013 Posted June 9, 2013 Welp, Arthur, Sorrow, and Nagure, you better run. Cause Karie's coming. Quote
Endgame Posted June 9, 2013 Posted June 9, 2013 "Good god man, RUN FOR IT!" Arthur, could you drop the second bomb? I could do with some life insurance. Quote
Shoker86 Posted June 9, 2013 Posted June 9, 2013 Welp, Arthur, Sorrow, and Nagure, you better run. Cause Karie's coming. All hell's breakin' loose Quote
Palathadric Posted June 9, 2013 Posted June 9, 2013 Why doesn't Haldor heal them? Afraid that he will start going for the bloody, ritualistic way out? You know what I think this whole thing of Karie thinking she's the sister of a Wolfgang member was just planted in her by the Stealer. He's obviously playing with Arthur too. Quote
Endgame Posted June 9, 2013 Posted June 9, 2013 Because he fabricated the past of two strong individuals, without fully recruitng either of them. Just because he was bored? Quote
TheBoyWonder Posted June 9, 2013 Posted June 9, 2013 Come on Endgame, reply to me in the hall already. Time to kick start phase 2 of my roleplaying. Quote
Kintobor Posted June 9, 2013 Posted June 9, 2013 "Hmm. Boring Monday afternoon, what to do.... I know! I'll implant fake memories into Karie and Arthur and watch them bicker about it! That and I can totally get Karie in a catsuit in the process!" Quote
Shoker86 Posted June 9, 2013 Posted June 9, 2013 What about Violetta calling out Karie on point of dying. Stealer's game too? Quote
Kintobor Posted June 9, 2013 Posted June 9, 2013 Totally! It's a four way mind screw- Karie, Arthur, Kayla, and Sorrow (for giving Karie the catsuit!) Quote
TheBoyWonder Posted June 9, 2013 Posted June 9, 2013 Romulus may go absolutely psycho, so I apologise for any damage to the hall in advance. Quote
Endgame Posted June 9, 2013 Posted June 9, 2013 Sorry, TBW, 70 has kept me occupied. Also, The Stealer is a workaholic. Your catsuit distracted him for about 3 seconds (la petit mort has a very different second meaning ). Although, Karie going down the same path as Violetta (one night in Ulric/Stealer's bed and they're convinced to be their Harley Quinn.) Quote
Palathadric Posted June 9, 2013 Posted June 9, 2013 (edited) Romulus may go absolutely psycho, so I apologise for any damage to the hall in advance. Don't worry. Just pet him and say "Nice Doggie." ...I nominate Alexis. Edited June 9, 2013 by Palathadric Quote
