Flipz Posted June 10, 2013 Posted June 10, 2013 I think maybe it has a 50/50 chance, right? Nope. Blinded enemies (and Heroes) don't Counterstrike. Quote
-obelix- Posted June 10, 2013 Posted June 10, 2013 (edited) I dont think so I think so too, since counterstrike would deal physical damage to attacker - which can't be dealt by a blind target. Nope. Blinded enemies (and Heroes) don't Counterstrike. Thanks for confirming, I thought so too. Edited June 10, 2013 by -obelix- Quote
Shoker86 Posted June 10, 2013 Posted June 10, 2013 Kintobor leave Captain Patricia alone. Arnulf plans taking her on dinner . She seems like a woman of his life Quote
Kintobor Posted June 10, 2013 Posted June 10, 2013 Don't tell me that! Now I know where she's going to be! Quote
Bricksandparts Posted June 10, 2013 Posted June 10, 2013 What happens if two quests have the same core NPC in them and the parties meet or the NPC dies? For example, Patricia. Quote
Capt.JohnPaul Posted June 10, 2013 Posted June 10, 2013 Argh! Blinded. I somehow got that mixed up with confused, where you have a 50/50 chance to hit a friend. Quote

Flare Posted June 10, 2013 Posted June 10, 2013 What happens if two quests have the same core NPC in them and the parties meet or the NPC dies? For example, Patricia. Then obviously the quests happen at different times. Quote
Bricksandparts Posted June 10, 2013 Posted June 10, 2013 Then obviously the quests happen at different times. That could lead to pretty strange paradoxes, but no real in-game time doesn't make sense either. Quote
Capt.JohnPaul Posted June 10, 2013 Posted June 10, 2013 Quest #67- Fixed now, I didn't realize I quoted the wrong round. Quote
Flare Posted June 10, 2013 Posted June 10, 2013 That could lead to pretty strange paradoxes, but no real in-game time doesn't make sense either. If one quest the heroes are with Patricia and in another one she... Lets say... Is murdered, then obviously the latter one happened afterwards. No paradox. Quote
Bricksandparts Posted June 10, 2013 Posted June 10, 2013 I'm talking about actions the NPC did. Say they left Eubric, or someone else affiliated with them died, then was alive in the other quest when meant to be dead. Quote
Scubacarrot Posted June 10, 2013 Posted June 10, 2013 Patricia is not going to die unless I say so and is not going to be in a quest unless I say so, so it doesn't matter. Quote
Dannylonglegs Posted June 10, 2013 Posted June 10, 2013 That could lead to pretty strange paradoxes, but no real in-game time doesn't make sense either. I'm pretty sure real-time is non-existent. On an average, Quests last one day, and RP between quests seems like a day's discussion (usually) so if you're trying to affix a time system to Heroica, it'll end up that what we've been doing for about 2 years has all taken place over the course of a few months, instead of the debatable 2 in-game years. ~Insectoid Aristocrat Quote
Bricksandparts Posted June 10, 2013 Posted June 10, 2013 Unless you start talking about quests like 48. 6 months for 1 night. My point is that NPC story lines could get pretty messy with them being in multiple quests. Patricia is not going to die unless I say so and is not going to be in a quest unless I say so, so it doesn't matter. What? Quote
Scubacarrot Posted June 10, 2013 Posted June 10, 2013 What? You're speculating over what would happen, but it would never happen. If an NPC can/will die in a quest, I'm sure the people responsible make sure they are not in other quests at that moment. Quote
Flipz Posted June 10, 2013 Posted June 10, 2013 What? Generally, it's considered rather rude to use someone else's NPC without permission, and killing off someone else's NPC without permission is even worse. A LOT worse. Quote

My point is that NPC story lines could get pretty messy with them being in multiple quests. What? I think that happened with Althior and Umbra recently, and it was decided that the non-Sandy-related events occurred before 66. No problem. Not that anyone died, of course. Patricia is Scubba's NPC, therefore, he makes the call. I wouldn't want someone killing off the Po Brothers or Fleur without my permission. ~Insectoid Aristocrat Quote
Bricksandparts Posted June 10, 2013 Posted June 10, 2013 I'm just wondering, because Patricia is a core NPC, who has been in multiple quests. What quests are she in currently? Karie could try and kill Patricia later in quest 70. Quote
Flipz Posted June 10, 2013 Posted June 10, 2013 Although now this discussion has made me consider potential ways to deliberately kill off the same character in multiple Quests as either a Mind Screw or else a running gag (a la "They Killed Kenny"). I'm just wondering, because Patricia is a core NPC, who has been in multiple quests. What quests are she in currently? Karie could try and kill Patricia later in quest 70. She is still Scuba's NPC, so... Quote

If Sandy wanted to kill her off, and I think he'd be the only one making that decision , he would contact me first, I hope. Quote
Bricksandparts Posted June 10, 2013 Posted June 10, 2013 But Karie might bring her into the quest. She has vowed revenge for her sister. So I'm just wondering what will be decided. Quote
Scorpiox Posted June 10, 2013 Posted June 10, 2013 Flare, I appreciate what you're trying to roleplay at the moment; however, I'd rather do that when the quest's failure isn't at stake. Yes the chance of killing the foes is small, but 1/12 chance of failing the quest is far worse than no chance at alI. I would ask you to please withdraw Benji's attack this round. But Karie might bring her into the quest. She has vowed revenge for her sister. So I'm just wondering what will be decided. I'm not really sure what your point is... Quote
