Scubacarrot Posted June 10, 2013 Posted June 10, 2013 She won't be doing any of that. It doesn't work like: "Oh, I want this person to appear." Quote
Dannylonglegs Posted June 10, 2013 Posted June 10, 2013 I'm just wondering, because Patricia is a core NPC, who has been in multiple quests. What quests are she in currently? Karie could try and kill Patricia later in quest 70. I think that the Town Watch woman in 70 is a lookalike NPC, though I might be wrong. I find NPCs' lives outside of Quests/across quests interesting too, which is why I've been trying to keep up on Fleur's activities... She has a buildong now (courtesy of Kinto) and an arcane products manager... Although now this discussion has made me consider potential ways to deliberately kill off the same character in multiple Quests as either a Mind Screw or else a running gag (a la "They Killed Kenny"). I'll be honest, I thought of this too... Phoenix Essences! A wizard did it! ~Insectoid Aristocrat Quote
Bricksandparts Posted June 10, 2013 Posted June 10, 2013 They are working for town watch, it wouldn't be that difficult for Karie to confront Patricia at the end of the quest. Quote
Scubacarrot Posted June 10, 2013 Posted June 10, 2013 It will, since she won't be making an appearance in Quest 70. Quote
Bricksandparts Posted June 10, 2013 Posted June 10, 2013 Ok, I'm just wondering what will happen when Karie meets Patricia. Quote

Scubacarrot Posted June 10, 2013 Posted June 10, 2013 Okay, let's assume Karie will make a move, like try to kill Patricia, Patricia would sidestep, hit her over the head, throw her out of the building and have her fail the quest. Quote
Scorpiox Posted June 10, 2013 Posted June 10, 2013 Ok, I'm just wondering what will happen when Karie meets Patricia. We'll have to see, I'm sure that Kintobor has something more elegant that just Karie attacks Patricia planned. Quote
Dannylonglegs Posted June 10, 2013 Posted June 10, 2013 (edited) Ok, I'm just wondering what will happen when Karie meets Patricia. Well, this is a world where death's cheap when it needs to be. I don't see why Karie meeting Patricia ultimately results in her death. Patricia may be lvl 50 with HP up the wazoo, she may have the other PCs in the area restrain her, she may just say, "I don't have time for this' and walk away. Okay, let's assume Karie will make a move, like try to kill Patricia, Patricia would sidestep, hit her over the head, throw her out of the building and have her fail the quest. Exactly. ~Insectoid Aristocrat Edited June 10, 2013 by Dannylonglegs Quote
Kintobor Posted June 10, 2013 Posted June 10, 2013 (edited) Well, yes Karie wants Patricia dead, but it won't be at the end of 70. Not in the place heavily guarded by the Town Watch. Karie would wait for the opportune moment when no one's looking and no one can hear Patricia's screams. I can see a confrontation go down though, a revealation on Patricia's part that Karie wants Patricia dead for the murder of Kayla. Edited June 10, 2013 by Kintobor Quote
Shoker86 Posted June 10, 2013 Posted June 10, 2013 (edited) I would try to kill Karie, but Particia won't need my help, she's too competant. Edited June 10, 2013 by Shoker86 Quote
UsernameMDM Posted June 10, 2013 Posted June 10, 2013 I would try to kill Karie, but Particia won't need my help, she's too competant. I would enjoy watching a NPC kill a PC. Aaaaaaand Hoke Dragoon 2.0: Quote
Flipz Posted June 10, 2013 Posted June 10, 2013 Just a formatting tip for submitting solutions to the puzzle in 65 (for your and WBD's convenience): If you set the font to Courier, all characters will be the same width, which makes it a LOT easier to keep the letters and slashes lined up for easy reading. A B C D E F G (etc) Becomes: A B C D E F G (etc) ...aaand it appears putting the answer in a code block does the exact same thing. Quote
Scorpiox Posted June 10, 2013 Posted June 10, 2013 I'm sorry, but I felt that this was the only way I could express my thoughts about the situation in Quest #67, especially Benji's stage direction: "Morons and fools like him had no place in Heroica" Quote

If I absolutely had to have Karie and Patricia fight in a 1v1? "What. Are. You. Doing?" Patricia, Level 50 Humanoid HP: 2000/2000 SP: 10 Immune to everything but Poison! Specials: Rapier Reprimandation: Slashes at the "hero" who rolled Special Damage for 100 damage. Passive Specials: Acid Tongue: Even in battle Patricia doesn't lose a lick of her biting wit. Any "hero" who targets her has a 1/3 chance of becoming Badly Poisoned and Enraged. Harsh Glare: Patricia glares harshly at the hero. All positive effects belonging to the "hero" attacking her have a/12 chance of becoming ineffective for that round. Of course, Patricia shall be the unseen for this quest. Also, I apologize for the similarities between Lilith and Patricia. LDD needs more pessimistic female faces. Quote

Palathadric Posted June 10, 2013 Posted June 10, 2013 Patricia is Scubba's NPC, therefore, he makes the call. I wouldn't want someone killing off the Po Brothers or Fleur without my permission. Hey, DLL, it seems like you're a "Self-Contained Underwater Breathing Bumbling Appartus" too. Quote
Brickdoctor Posted June 10, 2013 Posted June 10, 2013 [Oh, so you've witnessed a hero fight for a few battles? I bet you know everything about their Heroica career.] Docken does. Dannylonglegs Posted June 10, 2013 Posted June 10, 2013 Hey, DLL, it seems like you're a "Self-Contained Underwater Breathing Bumbling Appartus" too. Oh, that's how you got the title. I'm afraid my spelling is quite atrocious when I'm away from my spell check. I come off as significantly less bombastic as a result when I'm bereft of that holy device. ~Insectoid Aristocrat Quote
Brickdoctor Posted June 10, 2013 Posted June 10, 2013 I look for any piece that would split the group of three into individual groups. I'm pretty sure WBD said that the light was already in the three separate colors - all three colors being emitted to the left by the diamond, and you split the colors off individually using the other two gems. Flipz Posted June 10, 2013 Posted June 10, 2013 I just realized that De'kra and I would be killer if we Quested together again--he can cast Jinxed through his spells if I lend him the Unlucky Horseshoe, AND he's immune to Confused, meaning I can use my Healing Staff on him without penalty. Quote
Palathadric Posted June 10, 2013 Posted June 10, 2013 If you had all the elemental gems available to you. How would you divide them between your weapons? Personally, I think I would put: amethyst, ruby, sapphire, opal, and topaz in one and diamond, aquamarine, emerald, and garnet. But does that make the most sense? Quote
