Endgame Posted June 18, 2013 Posted June 18, 2013 If you wanted to do a boss Endgame style, you don't duplicate enemies. Weird compulsion: I like all of my battles to have varied enemy parties, with all of the battles in 70 only duplicating 1 enemy between battles. Quote
Kintobor Posted June 18, 2013 Posted June 18, 2013 I'm fond of variation among fights. The fight against a group of grunts may have five guards holding swords and spears. The second fight introduces archers. Come the third fight, the archers are replaced by a mage, and the fourth and final fight combines all those together with a tank-type enemy to bash through defenses. At least, that's what I'm fond of. Quote

The next mandatory battle is about equivalent to your ordinary six hero party...very happy with how it turned out. Quote
Palathadric Posted June 18, 2013 Posted June 18, 2013 Oh, hey, that means that if you ate nothing but applesauce and sausages for every meal, you'd get +9 HP every day. Life is wonderful, ain't it? Docken shows Heroica the benefits of eating healthy. Thanks, CMP. These enemies are built to be my bane, aren't they? Well, Pretzel could use a rest. Maybe I should stuff my healthy pretzel into Erik's mouth. Quote

Palathadric Posted June 18, 2013 Posted June 18, 2013 Immune to fire, wind, fragile. Two primary weapons this quest out the window. Can I say that Docken is insanely awesome in Quest #72! Being the greatest scientist currently alive, it's no wonder that King Guts enlisted him on his team. Next thing, Docken will be making Guts a Super Bomb in exchange for Raw Meat. RETHINK YOR BATTLE STRATEGY! Somehow this statement loses its strength when it's misspelled. It's nice seeing Romulus fighting against the Wolfgang. Quote
Endgame Posted June 18, 2013 Posted June 18, 2013 (edited) And to open the Thousand Year Door which contains wonderful treasures (but maybe a cataclysm or two) you need to collect the seven Crystal Doohickeys, right? Edited June 18, 2013 by Endgame Quote
Palathadric Posted June 18, 2013 Posted June 18, 2013 I'm reminded of when Endgame refused to let me take Combrys and refused to let me cut off the Death Progg's tail. Foul play, I cry! Quote
Kintobor Posted June 18, 2013 Posted June 18, 2013 Oh hush! The next quest begins the search for the Macguffins of Harmony or something, so you can complain later! This quest is meant to start the story and begin the mystery. I know all of you want to find out what's in there! Quote
Endgame Posted June 18, 2013 Posted June 18, 2013 (edited) You think the Monk had enough strength to rip a sword firmly stuck in an obsidian hard shell/skull anyway? Not even king Arthur managed that one. Edited June 18, 2013 by Endgame Quote
Kintobor Posted June 18, 2013 Posted June 18, 2013 You guys really want to know what's behind the vault door? ANOTHER DOOR! Quote
Palathadric Posted June 18, 2013 Posted June 18, 2013 You think the Monk had enough strength to rip a sword firmly stuck in an obsidian hard shell/skull anyway? Not even king Arthur managed that one. Go to the devil. Agreed. I hope the battles of 69 are coming across as reasonably well-varied. I wish I could actually get my hands on some of the loot though. Quote
CMP Posted June 18, 2013 Posted June 18, 2013 I have enjoyed the battles thus far. I wish I could actually get my hands on some of the loot though. You are the party leader... Quote
Kintobor Posted June 18, 2013 Posted June 18, 2013 I actually put the Aggressive Troll's passive special just so the rest of the party could get some of the loot I was handing out! Quote
Shoker86 Posted June 18, 2013 Posted June 18, 2013 Hooded figures in Endgame quests reminds me of this scene Quote
Endgame Posted June 18, 2013 Posted June 18, 2013 Go to the devil. Go to the devil, Palathadric? I made him. Yeah, Black Knight etiquette really should be to distribute stolen stuff. Quote
CMP Posted June 18, 2013 Posted June 18, 2013 Yeah, but Dreyrugr gets all the loot. So he gets to keep all of it? You could ask nicely for him to share. Go to the devil, Palathadric? I made him. Necromantic ancient crustaceans aren't devils. Quote
Endgame Posted June 19, 2013 Posted June 19, 2013 (edited) His true body is currently presiding over the innermost circle of hell. If the soul mutilation progress didn't halt his metamorphic cycle, Uland would probably be screwed. Imagine the Perfect Regret's power magnified by a body the size of the Mythrogg's. Brickdoctor Posted June 19, 2013 Posted June 19, 2013 "Heh. My area of expertise approaches!" "Do try to keep the bloodshed to a minimum, Red..." Aw. Missed opportunity to say, "But I want them alive. No disintegrations." Quote
Endgame Posted June 19, 2013 Posted June 19, 2013 But they don't disintegrate people... And I've never watched a Star Wars movie in its entirety... Quote
Brickdoctor Posted June 19, 2013 Posted June 19, 2013 Hope you guys are ready for action, 72. I never get to use all the stuff I bring on Guffington Quests. And JimB doesn't get to be Hastened, either, because he has to de-equip the Blessed Amulet and won't be protected from the negative effect of the Golden Armor, and he didn't bring any Smelling Salts with him. Quote
Zepher Posted June 19, 2013 Posted June 19, 2013 They're not designed against you guys, other than the obvious thing that I was trying to get rid of ONE of your artifacts! I figured it would make most sense for it to be an accessory, I didn't do that specifically to mess with you. At least you get a nice buff this time! Quote
Brickdoctor Posted June 19, 2013 Posted June 19, 2013 Oh, do we actually get to use them? I assumed that they were there as an existing artifact that fit what we were going to have to use them for in the plot. In that case, if JimB and I used ours first, would we get to de-equip them and put our old artifacts back. (Or can you not tell us that?) Quote
