Endgame Posted June 21, 2013 Posted June 21, 2013 (edited) Wait, did I mess up Arnulf/Arthur at any point during the quest, Flipz? Also, Zoot forbid I make a challenging mini boss. Edited June 21, 2013 by Endgame Quote
Brickdoctor Posted June 21, 2013 Posted June 21, 2013 I think you'll find that docken has a scroll of rocks imbued into his shield.... Unfortunately, you can't imbue Scrolls in shields. But that's okay, because I am immune to Instant KO. We have assigned tables now? I must have missed the memo. That really kills the whole rogue-ish feel to the place. They're not assigned; they've been claimed over time. (And perhaps even personalized with carvings in the wood or something like that.) I like it. It shows the Hall evolving with the heroes that are in it. Heroes form groups. Like the Cronk-Althior-Jess-Docken table that formed when the game first started. "We could have Alexandre the Fair. Brickington the Brave, Sarge the not-so-brave-as Sir Brickington, and if no one else s with us, we can make up a Sir Not Appearing In This Quest." You could also hire Jess to go Black Knight and resume her role as Slightly Less Dearly Beloved Party Secretary.MegaBlokin' MegaBloks, look at Althior's army! Quote
Flipz Posted June 21, 2013 Posted June 21, 2013 (edited) Eh, if he forgets to down an Ether Core before he has any of them attack, they all go away immediately. So if he just repeats his Battle order, he's toast. ...whoops. Edited June 21, 2013 by Flipz Quote
Capt.JohnPaul Posted June 21, 2013 Posted June 21, 2013 It just hit me. Ever since Docken's Horse Riding Amulet thing wasn't actually a horse, the entire time the heroes have been galloping with coconuts. Quote
Dannylonglegs Posted June 21, 2013 Posted June 21, 2013 Mwahaha! Flipz, we can rule together with our colour-coded battle-orders! None can stop us! ~Insectoid Aristocrat Quote
Endgame Posted June 21, 2013 Posted June 21, 2013 Also, just for clarifiaction: I don't suffer a conniption whenever I see a color-coded order. Hopefully everyone is liking these bite-sized battles more! I tried to take the deviousness of 48 and crunch it down. For scheduling purposes: Battle 1: 6-8 rounds (Check.) Battle 2: 6-8 rounds. (Check.) Battle 3: 8-10 rounds (On its way to being in that range.) Battle 4: 9-11 rounds (Hoping it won't be too much longer.) Boss Battle: 18-22 rounds total (Endgame? Skimp on bosses? Never!) Palathadric Posted June 21, 2013 Posted June 21, 2013 It's all fine and dandy to hate Sylph (even I do on occasion), but I had no Idea that the item's SP would decrease. This gives me a good idea for the future though. We let Dreyrugr steal all of our enemies' items before fighting the greatly weakened itemless foes. And Lootwise, I don't really mind that none of the items fit me... I really like this robe... (I'll buy it off you when all's said and done if you haven't found a good replacement.) ~Insectoid Aristocrat I kid, I kid, but yeah, I really should sell you the robe or you should get one for yourself. I wanted to play paladin as I normally played Cleric, so basically a cleric with a hefty shield, but having a much better healer in the group made me pretty useless in the healing department, so I guess I'll have to accept the fact that a cleric is a knight and fight it out. Maybe in other quests I won't have a dedicated healer though, and I will have to step into the roll. Warden is only better than Hunter if you have good defense. Don't be the Warden with no SP, because you're going to get steamrolled. (I think it was Volcanic that did that?) Being a hunter is being a buffed up ranger, the same with assassin. Being a warden, really, is worse than being a ranger if you don't have a decent amount of SP. So if you want to go Warden, you have to have a decent amount of money to buy a shield and upgrade it, if you don't have the money then going hunter is a better option because you don't need to invest in anything really. If you want to be a dedicated healer, Druid is easily the best pure healing class in the game right now. Paladin is the true upgrade of Knight, not of Cleric. Right. Problem is, like I said, neither class with access to Warden is a Gold-gaining class. If you really want to be a good Warden, then you have to have been saving up around ~500 Gold by the time you get to Level 15, and continue dedicating all your funds to that shield. Quote

Paladin is the true upgrade of Knight, not of Cleric. Exactly, but Sylvania's already got one non-good, Knight-Templar follower! (in my opinion, Pretzel's a solid true/lawful-neutral, with delusions of Lawful Good. And Sylph considers himself True Neutral.) ~Insectoid Aristocrat Quote
Brickdoctor Posted June 21, 2013 Posted June 21, 2013 I don't think Druid fits Pretzel roleplaying-wise, anyways. (Druids historically being just the sort of cultists/priests that Pretzel would refer to as 'pagans'.) Paladin is the best Advanced Class for him in that regard. I just meant statistically, if he wanted to continue in the pure healer role, then Druid is the choice. Quote

Flipz Posted June 21, 2013 Posted June 21, 2013 Yeah, there's a very big difference between "class/character capable of healing" and actual "healer". Even with Boomingham, we're really hurting for true healing on this Quest. Incidentally, Zeph, I know Scrolls aren't really your thing, but they just aren't working out for me and my Ether pool this Quest, whereas you've spent like, what, four Ether across the entire Quest? It might be a good plan to switch the Scrolls to Boomers and let Arthur handle the combat, at least for next battle. Quote
Palathadric Posted June 22, 2013 Posted June 22, 2013 That's why I originally ruled out Druid, Shaman, and Witch for Pretzel and only kept Sage and Paladin. Sage is pretty worthless without a good amount of gems, and I just don't think Pretzel fits it. Also, I love having SP now. When questing with Erdathcath, Pretzel changed his views on druids a bit, because he kind of had to try to get her on his side, as she was the lesser of the two evils with Erik being, by far, the greater. Especially with Erdathcath being lucky, Pretzel quickly understood the power of a druid and decided that they must not be that bad after all, but yeah, definitely Pretzel is staying a Paladin for now. He will go prophet, I think, but I can't see too many changes ahead of him as none of the expert classes really fit him as of yet. One thing I wondered about the Mime class, can a Mime use any weapons while fighting in any style or does he need to use rogue weapons when fighting in the rogue style. Would Docken be able to use his Shield and gain gold at the same time when he goes Mime? Just realized that in Pretzel's last three quests he's always been accompanied by another healer. Quote

Would Docken be able to use his Shield and gain gold at the same time when he goes Mime? Yes. The rule sheet for Mime only switches the Battle Style (the six rolls), not the other abilities. Mimes get all the other abilities at the same time. Quote

Brickington Posted June 22, 2013 Posted June 22, 2013 (edited) What about this? If you have no clue what I am talking about, look in the Hall tall 'ye dumba$$! Knights of the Round Table is a very heroic group of some of Heroica's best knights. They are brave, strong, and most handsome! They fight for good and help the helpless. Do you have what it takes to become a Knight of the Round Table? Information and Requirements In order to become a member of this group one must have a job class related to knighthood (Knight, Black Knight, Mystic Knight, Paladin, etc). Secondly, in order to become a member, one must challenge an existing member to a duel in the Heroica Arena. If you defeat an existing member you may then become a member of KRT and sit at our reserved table. Brickdoctor Posted June 22, 2013 Posted June 22, 2013 So, If I became a paladin, I could become a member automatically? I could almost do that, too; all I have to do is tank all of Brickington's hits in the Arena. (But you don't have to worry about that, because I'm already committed to Team Guts.) Quote
