Scorpiox Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 (edited) Plus the Mail of the Renegade Commander, all the Raw Meats, dealing Blinded, the immunity to SP-reduction, immunity to Fragile, immunity to Badly Poisoned, potential immunity to Instant KO and Doomed... while at full HP, I can tank a Free Hit from an enemy of Level 328 without being Knocked Out. I plan to have some of those in my next quest. Might have to make them only award half-XP, though, in case there are too many battles. How did you work that out? You have 60 HP, and 20 something SP. So... 328/2=164 164-20-something = 140-something. To my logic, Docken is still very much not invincible. EDIT: Okay, Docken's mail takes the free hit down to 70, still leaving him dead. I don't think that's a good idea. A battle's a battle, after all. Edited June 24, 2013 by Scorpiox Quote

Scorpiox Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 Divide by four instead of two for the Mail of the Renegade Commander. I see. You sir have got yourself some ridiculously overpowered artefacts - I hope you're happy. Quote
Scubacarrot Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 328/4 = 82 - 23 = 59, 60 - 59 = 1 health. Would be a shame if that level 328 enemy had poisoned hits. Quote
Palathadric Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 OK, this is like the bajillionth time someone has said it, and it's frustrating. Hide does NOT pass on Free Hits to another player, and neither does Special Dodge. What? I guess Dreyrugr has never had to absorb a free hit so I've never noticed. So when a Black Knight is in hiding the free hits against him are counted as nothing? I suppose if he has counterstrike gloves on he wouldn't be able to counter either though, or...? Quote
Dannylonglegs Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 I actually like how #69 is working out. But I don't mind hopping on board with a quest where all I need to post is, "I follow Sylph's Battle Order and Actions" every 24 hours or so. I won't lie, I like it too. You're not a bad strategist yourself, and you've even caught me on a few stupid mistakes/typos. I like the idea of a group full of strategists with one designated PL, with the rest of the group being editors/back-up PLs if the Designated one can't get to the comp for 6 hours. It'd only work with an extremely active QM. And, please, 24 hours? I'm on the comp 24/7. stop having a life and be more active! ~Insectoid Aristocrat Quote
JimBee Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 Divide by four instead of two for the Mail of the Renegade Commander. Wouldn't you divide by two for back row, subtract SP, and then divide by two again for the Mail? Quote
Flipz Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 Plus the Mail of the Renegade Commander, all the Raw Meats, dealing Blinded, the immunity to SP-reduction, immunity to Fragile, immunity to Badly Poisoned, potential immunity to Instant KO and Doomed... under optimum conditions (full HP, Aura, only one enemy), I can tank a Free Hit from an enemy of Level 368 without being Knocked Out. I plan to have some of those in my next quest. Might have to make them only award half-XP, though, in case there are too many battles. You already know how nuts my EC build is. It's not quite as nuts as yours, but with Ambrosia and Nostrum I'd still be able to take the Obsidian Dragon 1-on-1 and be completely untouchable. A battle's a battle, though, and I'm sure the Quest will be a nice long one to balance that out. (Plus that's like one of the best selling features for a Brickdoctor Quest--nice and long, lots of battles. I remember with fondness earning 10 experience increases on EACH of the last two Quests I went on with you. ) Quote

CMP Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 Glad you guys are still enjoying the Quest. I know it's slowed down since you entered the sewers, but it'll pick up soon enough. Quote

I'd rule that as correct, considering that Guardian Angel prevents Counterstriking as well. Flipz is half right. Hide just avoids damage, whereas Special Dodge passes it on to the next ally. According to the page for BKs, though, Special Dodge only passes on the Special itself. It says nothing about avoiding Free Hits. I would just place Hiding heroes not in the order of receiving free hits. If I'm honest, that seems to be more logical reading it than just negating a free hit. That's not how it's been run in the past, though, and I believe that includes Sandy's run on 66. Quote

You seem to be saying the opposite of what I understood Flipz was saying. If the Battle Order is: Pretzel Dreyrugr Sylph Pretzel and Dreyrugr are taking free hits and Dreyrugr goes into hiding, what happens to the free hit intended for him. Is the free hit used against Sylph or does is just miss Dreyrugr? Quote

Dannylonglegs Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 The free hit would just be negated. But not to worry, if everything went according to plan last round, the second enemy would be too blinded to even attack. ~Insectoid Aristocrat Quote
Brickdoctor Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 Wouldn't you divide by two for back row, subtract SP, and then divide by two again for the Mail? I'm not sure. I guess it's up to the QM. Logically, the description of the artifact states that it helps you dodge more quickly to take less Damage, so it would make sense that you dodge (divide) and then the part of the hit that you still take hits your armor (subtract SP). Quote
Scubacarrot Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 But actually, I think QM's should have more freedom in these sort of things. Not everything has to be explained to the last detail, as long as a QM is consistent, I think they should be able to decide for themselves. Just my opinion. Quote
Palathadric Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 Flipz and his evidence (puh ) say it just goes away, the way I read it goes on to Sylph. That's the way how I read it too, but Flipz has evidence. Quote
