Brickdoctor Posted June 30, 2013 Posted June 30, 2013 Conversely, Docken, in my eyes, has a high INT and low WIS. He is as smart as Brickdoctor is, so in-universe that would mean he reads up on quests and other Heroica information in the library, etc. He's not extremely wise because he only applies his knowledge to stats rather than personal, moral enrichment or awareness of his surroundings. Yes, exactly. I listed my stats as Int: ∞ and Wis: 1. Quote
The Legonater Posted June 30, 2013 Posted June 30, 2013 I've always thought Cronk as intelligent, if anything I'd say he's naïve. Even that doesn't seem quiete appropriate, though. Also, we'll played, WB! I noticed pretty early on Ecatsue had the Jekyll and Hyde head, but at first I just assumed he had been transfigured by the witch. I definitely didn't see this coming! Quote
Scubacarrot Posted June 30, 2013 Posted June 30, 2013 So Scuba griping again because someone might be as strong as him at some point? Where did I hide that tiny violin... I have far from the strongest character in Heroica. I want to have a balanced game. Best way to deal with all of it? Remove all gold gaining abilites. Quote
CMP Posted June 30, 2013 Posted June 30, 2013 Also, we'll played, WB! I noticed pretty early on Ecatsue had the Jekyll and Hyde head, but at first I just assumed he had been transfigured by the witch. I definitely didn't see this coming! Yeah, it's a cool twist. Quote
Scubacarrot Posted June 30, 2013 Posted June 30, 2013 Flipz, I don't agree at all with a lot of your points, but there you go. I am going to drop it. Again, sorry for sounding like a dick. Not a personal attack, but an attack on the item. Maybe this will get a continuation when you start raking in 1000s of gold per battle. Who knows. Quote
Chromeknight Posted June 30, 2013 Posted June 30, 2013 Also, we'll played, WB! I noticed pretty early on Ecatsue had the Jekyll and Hyde head, but at first I just assumed he had been transfigured by the witch. I definitely didn't see this coming! In Voyage of the Dawn Treader by C.S.Lewis, Eustace is transformed from boy to dragon. Ecatsue is Eustace backwards... Quote
Brickdoctor Posted June 30, 2013 Posted June 30, 2013 Oh, nice reference, WBD. I noticed the Ecatsue/Eustace connection, but didn't think about his being the dragon. Quote
Scubacarrot Posted June 30, 2013 Posted June 30, 2013 Scuba, geez, stop complaining... I said I was dropping it, didn't I? Quote
Chromeknight Posted June 30, 2013 Posted June 30, 2013 Posting that was not an indication that I'd figured it out, just that, in retrospect, there were clues... Quote
Professor Flitwick Posted June 30, 2013 Posted June 30, 2013 Sorry, Pyrovisionary, I don't mean to be rude by ignoring you, it's just I'm going on holiday in a few days, and don't want to leave a fortnight long gap in between an arena fight! Quote
CorneliusMurdock Posted June 30, 2013 Posted June 30, 2013 Scuba, geez, stop complaining... This thread is for discussing game mechanics. Scuba's complaints about the gloves are a lot more relevant than some other things that have gone on here. Even when you don't agree with someone, there's no need for the attitude. Play nice. Quote
swils Posted June 30, 2013 Posted June 30, 2013 Scuba, geez, stop complaining... Bugger off of Scumba, I'm sure he just wishes that he could still glean that many coins per battle. (I jest). Although, if I could get a pair of gloves that let me control the elements better than a mage AC... that'd be kinda tight. /whistle Quote
Endgame Posted June 30, 2013 Posted June 30, 2013 Flipz, I don't agree at all with a lot of your points, but there you go. I am going to drop it. Again, sorry for sounding like a dick. Not a personal attack, but an attack on the item. Maybe this will get a continuation when you start raking in 1000s of gold per battle. Who knows. I will be taking steps when designing future battles to make sure the gold earnings remain reasonable. The combined Overkill for battles 2 and 3 was no bigger then 250 - the Chromoids were a design flaw when creating battles, but I won't make that mistake again. Despite my blunder, it was my screw-up, so Arthur has the right to reap his rewards from the Chromoids. Quote
Jebediahs Posted June 30, 2013 Posted June 30, 2013 Why does everyone think Cronk is stupid? I'm not saying he's a rocket scientist or anything but I don't think I play him as stupid. I don't understand this either. That first discussion in Orcish Cronk had with Nerwen should have made his level of intelligence apparent. Quote
Capt.JohnPaul Posted June 30, 2013 Posted June 30, 2013 Wow, what a warm welcome for our new Dwarvish player! Quote
Tachyon Posted June 30, 2013 Posted June 30, 2013 Wait, is it true that the Progg Invasion was larger than the Orcish Invasion ? Quote
Endgame Posted June 30, 2013 Posted June 30, 2013 The Orcish Invasion took down most of Ennon - the Progg invasion ravaged Luosh, but they were gearing up to slaughter Uland. of course, that is when the 48 heroes stepped in... Perfect Regret probably is the strongest single entity faced in the entire game at this point, though. Over 5,000 HP, almost 20 different specials, dozens of SP (Probably somewhere around 40-50) and a combined level of nearly 200 . Quote
Capt.JohnPaul Posted June 30, 2013 Posted June 30, 2013 I have no clue, but Proggs are for sure bigger than orcs. Quote
UsernameMDM Posted June 30, 2013 Posted June 30, 2013 I don't think Cronk is stupid, it's more like he is uneducated/unrefined. He's not book smart, but rather life/street smart. Quote
Endgame Posted June 30, 2013 Posted June 30, 2013 Official stats on the Perfect Regret: HP: 5900 SP: 51 Ether: Infinite Specials: 10 unique specials, 9 passive specials ...Man, that looks so much more overkill when you just write it all down like that. Quote
UsernameMDM Posted June 30, 2013 Posted June 30, 2013 I have far from the strongest character in Heroica. Who do you think is stronger? I want to have a balanced game. Best way to deal with all of it? It's my belief that QMs are unofficially in charge of balancing out the game. Sandy does a good job with brushing up the rules every now and then, but I think QMs take on the bulk of balancing out the quests between classes and abilities. Remove all gold gaining abilites. Retroactive? Quote
Flare Posted June 30, 2013 Posted June 30, 2013 Since when were hermits a species? Last tine I checked it was a.. Erm... An occupation? Wait, is it true that the Progg Invasion was larger than the Orcish Invasion ? No. Quote
Endgame Posted June 30, 2013 Posted June 30, 2013 (edited) The numbers may have been similar (I don't know the numbers involved in the orcish invasion), but The proggs were stopped before they could trash any place other than Luosh. Edited June 30, 2013 by Endgame Quote
Scorpiox Posted June 30, 2013 Posted June 30, 2013 I don't understand this either. That first discussion in Orcish Cronk had with Nerwen should have made his level of intelligence apparent. Perfectly true. It's obvious when reading Cronk's words that he's actually an extremely wise and intelligent individual. As Jeb says, the conversation with Nerwen reveals that the only reason for his child-like speech is that he is less fluent in the standard language. I would bet that I sound a little simple when attempting to speak French (I won't lie, I have been told that by a French female friend before). Quote
