Endgame Posted July 1, 2013 Posted July 1, 2013 I love how the huge argument between Arthur and Boomingham goes down, and I'm out doing yardwork. Know what I was doing during Karie's BSOD? Cleaning up after my dog in the yard. I wouldn't say it's huge, though. However, I do enjoy being able to simply sit back and watch the ammunition fly without having to do anything. Quote
Palathadric Posted July 1, 2013 Posted July 1, 2013 I don't think there should be any penalty for switching classes. Right now I think it's a valid strategy to switch to a gold-gaining class for a while and then switch back to pay for expenses, and the same would probably apply if we implemented other class-exclusive advantages. Besides, the costs that come with other classes are enough to begin with - 50 gold is a good amount of the earnings from a short quest, and if that would be the cost of switching, then there would be no point as there would b no money left to upgrade, buy consumables, etc. I see no reason switching back and forth should be penalized, especially if it were to balance another new rule about Knights being able to upgrade artifacts' SP. Simple is better, and there's no reason to change a bunch of rules to balance one thing. Very much agree. Although I had originally wanted Pretzel to switch through all the advanced classes, I think I will be sticking with Paladin for a while to come, but I don't think switching between classes should come at any cost or penalty. I think it's really rather needless. Quote
Waterbrick Down Posted July 1, 2013 Posted July 1, 2013 Oh, is there a man transforming into a dragon down there, too? Cronk thinks safest thing at this point is for other guests to evacuate building anyway. Any with sense will do just that. I think that's the first time, I've ever seen Cronk use sarcasm. Quote
Palathadric Posted July 1, 2013 Posted July 1, 2013 Thing is, for a tank class, Smelling Salts can potentially effectively halve your SP or more, because of the (brilliant!) way that Free Hits work. Even with multiple turns, the SP is only applied once, which can get dangerous, fast. True to a certain extent, I guess it depends on the level of things attacking you and how many there are. Or we could artifacts with really high SP (By high I mean like more than 11 SP)have the Slowed effect. Well hopefully we won't have artifacts with that high SP for a while to come and if so they will only be suitable to specific people or knights. Quote
CorneliusMurdock Posted July 1, 2013 Posted July 1, 2013 Dyric's overdramatic tone must have gotten to him. I think it's hilarious that Dyric wants to go stop a panic that he started. Did he think this was how it was going to go down: Dyric: Hi, Mr. Greely. Would it be okay if the man in the penthouse pays next week? He's sort of busy transforming into a dragon right now. Oh, and he might have incinerated Mr. Krook by accident earlier. He's really sorry, though. Greely: He sounds like a pleasant enough fellow and not dangerous at all. Tell him that he can take his time with the rent. It's only money anyway. Quote

Zepher Posted July 1, 2013 Posted July 1, 2013 Zepher, I asked earlier, but how does the item Staff of the Frog Paladin and its effect Amphibianoc's blessing work? It is from The Big Hunt, aka the first Russel quest. It is just I am unsure how it works. You have a 1/6 chance of not taking damage the following round. Quote
Palathadric Posted July 1, 2013 Posted July 1, 2013 Would anyone like the Topaz? I'm alright gem and elemental-wise for the time being. Fine, I'll take it if no one wants it. Quote
Zepher Posted July 1, 2013 Posted July 1, 2013 I really do feel bad, Kintober. I just didn't spot the Topaz in your inventory, I thought I was helping you out. Boomingham may be angry with Karie, but I'm not. Quote

It's not like it was his idea anyways. Though it doesn't help that Dyric has had a perfectly fine experience with dragons and seems to inherently trust people... Quote
Chromeknight Posted July 1, 2013 Posted July 1, 2013 Regarding swapping classes, Suggestion: To swap classes you must be a different level to when you started that class ( ie, have been on a quest or eaten a level 'shroom) It's not really a barrier, since its what people do anyway, but it prevents the 'I'll just be a knight in the marketplace' move. That sounds fair, but I still don't think we need to adjust a rule for another rule. The Knight's ability to upgrade artifacts... should not interfere with other parts of the game like that. I'm actually not sure if it's a sound solution yet. But I think this is a good suggestion, Chromeknight, because for switching in and out of Rogue classes you must go on a quest to make money, obviously. Another thing I wanted to mention was that we kind of already have a good Knight-exclusive ability, which is actually just limited to the Mystic Knight. Enchantment is an awesome way to upgrade shields and weapons, and is always cheaper than upgrading at the blacksmith. The penalty is ether, but I wish this ability could be implemented into other Knight classes as well, somehow. I think it would go a long way for balancing SP on Knights vs. non-Knights. On a completely different note, I am just loving Quest #72 so far. Quote

UsernameMDM Posted July 1, 2013 Posted July 1, 2013 Or how about Knight classes are the only one that can have SP? Since it's the knight's core gimmick. Quote
CMP Posted July 1, 2013 Posted July 1, 2013 Or how about Knight classes are the only one that can have SP? Since it's the knight's core gimmick. That takes away thousands of gold from a lot of people. Taking it away completely isn't a good idea in my opinion. Knights are still the only ones who can effectively tank, SP is just to keep the common hero alive. Has anybody mentioned how high the levels of a lot of enemies tend to be now? Quote
Zepher Posted July 1, 2013 Posted July 1, 2013 (edited) On a completely different note, I am just loving Quest #72 so far. Glad! We've still got a while to go. I'll be doing updates again later tonight on everything! Including your letter, Tarn. Edited July 1, 2013 by Zepher Quote

Capt.JohnPaul Posted July 2, 2013 Posted July 2, 2013 (edited) Host a quest and try to scratch the heroes before you say that. Agreed. Nova Tertia is a great example. My velocinoids could take out Heckz in 2 hits or so. But Benji usually only takes 3 or 4 damage at a time. Edited July 2, 2013 by Capt.JohnPaul Quote

Rumble Strike Posted July 2, 2013 Posted July 2, 2013 Wait, so for all this time Atramor has had the letter CMP didn't actually know what was in it, only Zeph? I know we do the player/character distinction but that's some roleplaying dedication right there! Had it been the other way around I would only have agreed if I knew what it was Quote
