Kintobor Posted July 6, 2013 Posted July 6, 2013 Aaaaand now I'm suddenly left wondering what is going to go down in Karie's apartment. Phase one, phase two, or both? I'll post my outline of the battle (who would've appeared there and what would've went down) and Masson's stats. Karie may be somewhat sexual, but she's not that sexual. Wait, hold on, yes she is. It'll probably be chat and dinner with a bit of making out. Besides, Karie's next big inter-quest hurdle is dealing with a certain someone who's name may or may not rhyme with Baxwell Balderflask. Do take care not to re-ginite the Heroica love plague. It has kinda shriveled up recently, but I get the feeling it is going to be rekindled soon enough. Ah, yes, I do love me some Laxwell Ralderdask. Quote
Brickdoctor Posted July 6, 2013 Posted July 6, 2013 What would you rather have me do ? Quickly edit it to walking to a bakery early in the morning and buying the food or just magically pulling it out of her bag ? Neither would make sense unless you actually paid for the food with Gold at that bakery. Just because this is a fantasy game doesn't mean you can use magic to explain creating items outside of the rules. You've used this magically appearing food to influence NPCs, and that really shouldn't be allowed to happen through an item that you just made up. If you want to roleplay around an item that appears out of nowhere, fine (but even that is a stretch), but you shouldn't be able to use an item that you just create* in order to affect the statistical and non-roleplaying events of the game.*Unless you had the time to create an item, you explained how you created it, you had the resources to create it, and the QM confirmed that it was added to the game, as was done in Quest 17. Which is not the case with this magic bag of food. Quote

It has kinda shriveled up recently, but I get the feeling it is going to be rekindled soon enough. Ah, yes, I do love me some Laxwell Ralderdask. Don't worry. I'm not making it Karie's obsession, and I intend to keep it low key. I don't want the romance to take over Karie's character, especially since she said she wants it to potentially work out. She's not fully warmed up to Masson yet, but she does want someone she can work with on the side of Heroica and relate to on a personal level. I should have guessed! The most dreaded cheese salesman this side of the Crystalline Sea! Quote
Zepher Posted July 6, 2013 Posted July 6, 2013 Some QMs reward roleplaying choices. I think it's good! You'd probably do it anyways, but could you post Masson's battle stats after the quest? I'm more than a little interested in what would have went down had Boomingham or Arnulf tried to negotiate. You guys don't listen to poor Boomingham! He explained that he offered Masson safety and a truce if he destroyed the Harvester, and Masson refused. I think he had reason to believe that there'd be bloodshed. Quote
Endgame Posted July 6, 2013 Posted July 6, 2013 Words from the ones you love are a whole bunch more profound then words from the one who specifically says he may kill you, just saying. Also, fun fact: Masson was so obsessed with his studies that Karie is his first girlfriend. Quote

Endgame Posted July 6, 2013 Posted July 6, 2013 Is Masson actually physically buildable? I know his face exists (obviously) and I'd think the hair, but his purple Stealer outfit may be nonexistent. Quote
Shoker86 Posted July 6, 2013 Posted July 6, 2013 (edited) Kintobor, Endgame, are you planing Karie Masson wedding, Sandy could open special event, with us giving gifts to the couple Edited July 6, 2013 by Shoker86 Quote
Endgame Posted July 6, 2013 Posted July 6, 2013 Kintobor, Endgame, are you planing Karie Masson wedding, Sandy could open special event, with us giving gifts to the couple Slow down there, KariexMasson shippers. Actually, that is something I noticed: we don't have a single married character in Heroica. Skrall may count, and Sorrow had a fiance, but besides that. Quote
Shoker86 Posted July 6, 2013 Posted July 6, 2013 They better marry, I've just used my mulled wine. Quote
Kintobor Posted July 6, 2013 Posted July 6, 2013 Is Masson actually physically buildable? I know his face exists (obviously) and I'd think the hair, but his purple Stealer outfit may be nonexistent. I was going to give him street clothes and a purple cape. He's rebuildable, just not 100%. The hoods non-existent. Kintobor, Endgame, are you planing Karie Masson wedding, Sandy could open special event, with us giving gifts to the couple "You may kiss the rogue." Quote
Endgame Posted July 6, 2013 Posted July 6, 2013 I was going to give him street clothes and a purple cape. He's rebuildable, just not 100%. The hoods non-existent. "You may kiss the rogue." Yeah, that was what I thought. Only exists in red for the Star Wars Royal Guard, right? "The rouge rogue bride may now kiss the purple paragon groom." Quote
Brickdoctor Posted July 6, 2013 Posted July 6, 2013 Yeah, that was what I thought. Only exists in red for the Star Wars Royal Guard, right? Yep, and it doesn't look like there were any prototypes in other colors that got out and were ever sold on BL, either. (Unsurprising, since red is the typical color used for those prototypes, and that piece is already in red.) If you really wanted a violet one, you could always dye it or paint it -- though I suspect that violet will be a difficult color to match perfectly. Quote
Zepher Posted July 6, 2013 Posted July 6, 2013 Words from the ones you love are a whole bunch more profound then words from the one who specifically says he may kill you, just saying. Oh, no doubt. But they're acting like Boomingham was just going to murder him no matter what, which is not what he said. I'll have more to say about this quest when its over, but I really like all the characters in it. It's a very important quest to Boomingham (and to me playing him) for a number of reasons. Actually, that is something I noticed: we don't have a single married character in Heroica. Skrall may count, and Sorrow had a fiance, but besides that. Boomers was married as well. Quote
Flipz Posted July 6, 2013 Posted July 6, 2013 Aaaaand now I'm suddenly left wondering what is going to go down in Karie's apartment. Endgame, what is it with you and making NPCs that the Heroes want to sleep with? Quote
Endgame Posted July 6, 2013 Posted July 6, 2013 Endgame, what is it with you and making NPCs that the Heroes want to sleep with? Well, first of all, Beatrice was completely unintentional! I didn't even have a bloody name for her in the beginning, let alone expect her to become Galen's love interest. LDD makes improv incredibly easy though, so that is always a plus. Quote
Scubacarrot Posted July 6, 2013 Posted July 6, 2013 Boomers was married as well. So was Guts, at one point. Quote
Kintobor Posted July 6, 2013 Posted July 6, 2013 So was Guts, at one point. Karie was also in a relationship before Masson. At one point. Quote
Endgame Posted July 6, 2013 Posted July 6, 2013 Karie was also in a relationship before Masson. At one point. And Masson has never been in a relationship before this one. Yaaay? Also, 70ers, Briar is indeed the final battle! He will be a far cry from a boss, however. Quote
Chromeknight Posted July 6, 2013 Posted July 6, 2013 Nerwen has been (elvish equivalent of) married. Twice. And she has a daughter. Quote
Flipz Posted July 6, 2013 Posted July 6, 2013 Not sure whether I should put this here, in Rules, or in QM Lounge, I sort of picked this one at random (even though it'd be relevant in any of the above): Quote
Myrddyn Posted July 6, 2013 Posted July 6, 2013 Endgame, what is it with you and making NPCs that the Heroes want to sleep with? Them Proggs. Shame they're all too old for Erik, 'cept Punii, who I think's too young, and a bunch more he... killed. Shame. Erik and Punii going out would be... Explosive. Quote
Palathadric Posted July 6, 2013 Posted July 6, 2013 I hope Dreyrugr was never married, otherwise perhaps Pretzel should start calling him "Daddy." And you all can be thankful Pretzel is not married, or you may as well call him "Daddy." Instead, you get Sorrow. Huh. Well. I don't think that Pretzel would trust any food that Mizuki offered him "dark magic" Pretzel likes eating and he likes Mizuki well enough as well. He has no reason to suspect her...yet. Quote
