Endgame Posted July 21, 2013 Posted July 21, 2013 (edited) How much is a full piece of mythril actually worth? 2002 gold seems a bit steep, especially considering the jacked up prices of the rest of Sham's items. I'd price it at anywhere from 2500-3000 gold, to be honest. 2002 seems low to me. Edited July 21, 2013 by Endgame Quote

Endgame Posted July 21, 2013 Posted July 21, 2013 (edited) Wait, what? Since when was Mythril that low? At WP: 25, it would cost me in the ballpark of 3200 gold to get to WP: 35. 2002 gold is cheap. Edited July 21, 2013 by Endgame Quote

Just calling it as it is. Mythril shards go for around 200 give or take 100 from what I've seen. Sarge bought his for 150, I think, and I believe Scuba paid 250 or so for one once. Endgame Posted July 21, 2013 Posted July 21, 2013 Thanks for the memo, then. I would be willing to pay 400-500 gold for one. Quote

Sarge bought his for 150, I think, and I believe Scuba paid 250 or so for one once. Alright. So lets say if a mythril shard is 150-250 gold (average 200 lets say for now), then a full mythril chunk/piece/thing would be 800 gold. So my offer of 750 gold wasn't really that lowball Thanks for the memo, then. I would be willing to pay 400-500 gold for one. Well I guess I know to whom to sell my mythril shards to Quote

I'd say 1000 - 1500 is a better bet. You still have to account for supply and demand. Mythril's rarely available, and when it is, you almost always have to buy it from another player. I wonder if Sham would be willing to split his piece into shards? 500 a shard isn't great, but you and Tesni have a ton of gold to burn. Quote
Myrddyn Posted July 21, 2013 Posted July 21, 2013 (edited) Even from WP:15, which is a reasonable power for a weapon, ( Lord Endgame and King Scubas weapons are far more powerful than those belonging to peasants such as me) I think you'd be slightly better off buying Mithril for 2000 and imbuing it for another 100 than going up 10 WP with Anwyls standard upgrades. I guess a shard might be a bit less than just 1/4 of the price of a whole Mithril, because if you've only got one shard, it's useless. Possibly whole Mithrils would go down in price a bit because of the new adamant as well, but I'd think you'd definitely be looking at more than 1500 gold. Edit: Yeah, Flares later post is correct . I must have bodged my figures. However, if I'd said WP:16, I'm pretty sure that would be correct ) Edited July 21, 2013 by Myrddyn Quote

Yeah, well, I guess thats an option Although I'd rather not waste my gold. I'm saving it for an important purchase that will take up a large part of it (and also a large portion of my gold is borrowed, unfortunately, but we can forget that ) Quote

Full Mythril pieces are still very rare. Anyway, I'm just making estimates, no doubt the price will fluctuate depending on how much Mythril is in the game at any given time. Quote

Upgrading a WP:15 weapon to WP:25 would normally cost 2050 gold. If you purchased a mythril shard for 2002 gold and then payed 100 gold for it be embedded into a weapon it would overall cost 2102 gold which is 52 gold more. However, if upgrading a WP:20 weapon to WP:30 would normally cost 2550 gold. But its not very likely that someone will have such an expensive weapon in the first place if they didn't use mythril on it Perhaps. Full Mythril pieces are still very rare. CMP Posted July 21, 2013 Posted July 21, 2013 We've seen more recently than in times past. But as more Mythril is introduced, more Mythril chunks are made whole, and then they're imbued into weapons, removing them from play. Definitely there's a lot more Mythril than there was in the past, but once someone completes a full piece, that's another four shards (or just one chunk if it was received that way) is gone from the game. So more Mythril shards = more Mythril chunks = more imbuement = less Mythril. Quote
Scubacarrot Posted July 21, 2013 Posted July 21, 2013 If Quest 72 is completed (succesfully), there will be 3 more mithril shards in play, and I don't think any of us are particuarly interested (JimB's an Assassin, Docken has his, Guts has his, Pandora said she didn't care about them). So if people are looking to acquire them, keep that in mind. Quote
TheBoyWonder Posted July 21, 2013 Posted July 21, 2013 I am interested, at 150-250 gold a shot. Quote
Brickdoctor Posted July 21, 2013 Posted July 21, 2013 250 Gold for a shard and 1000-1200 Gold for a whole has been the benchmark for as along as I can remember Mythril being sold. I don't believe I've ever seen anyone selling for less than 250 for a shard, or anyone buying for much more than that. Quote

Yeah, you got even more of a steal than him Yeah, stop criticizing! QM note: This battle is inspired by my own hobby of growing grapes and the pesky Japanese Beetles that make it their short life's goal to eat my beautiful plants before they have the chance to fruit. Pics will arrive later today. Also, Arnulf, would you mind letting me know if your Stats are correct? The danged Japanese Beetles. The scourge of mankind. I don't grow grapes but I've had negative encounters with those scum Quote

I don't grow grapes but I've had negative encounters with those scum I absolutely dispise them, and I collect coleoptera. All beetles are beautiful gems... except Japanese Beetles, which all deserve to die. I grow pesticide free, so the only way to keep them off the grapes is either spray them with a soap sollution, or water mixed with (I kid you not) dead Japanese Beetles. Neither keeps them away long enough though. Also, I;m sorry about my very small amount of participation recently. It should increase very soon. ~Insectoid Aristocrat Quote

What do you have against the Japanese? I have no problem with Japanese humans (in fact, I quite love the culture and language), it's the Popillia japonica I can't stand. ~Insectoid Aristocrat Quote
