Random question: Does Mother Danab and Helvetia have any sort of relation (friends, enemies, etc.), being the embodiments of the beginning and end of the cycle of life - birth and death, respectively?

Their Old God counter-parts are siblings. :innocent:

I think I'm going to have to put together a lore reference sheet before I host any more quests. I feel bad for you people who keep getting stuck on mine and have to memorize a bunch of made up religions and old myths.

Well, the gods don't really have personalities (I think) as in say the Norse or Greek/Roman Pantheons, but I'd think a natural rivalry or mutual respect and acknowledgement would develop between their followers, definitely.

That's when roleplaying wins, I don't need to learn that stuff, because Guts doesn't know that stuff.

I think fleshing out Heroica's stance on the divine pantheon completely wouldn't be a bad idea at this stage, anyway - considering we went from "gods are just representations of ideals" to "fight Ennoc". (Not a jab at you, Zepher. )

No, fighting an apparition supposed to resemble Ennoc as brought forth by a magical artifact the church of Ennoc believes is a Shard of Ennoc which doesn't actually have a physical presence in the world.

Again, I'm trying to keep the religions in this game realistic, in that the gods aren't actual corporeal beings living on some mountaintop to gaze upon the mortals, but they are concepts created by the people of Olegaia. People might have made up myths about Mother Danab having an argument with Helvetia (explaining some phenomenon), but it's not a real historical event. That's why you are free to make up any kind of myths you yourself want.

The religions in Eubric are like Hinduism - everyone worships their own god (or gods), but do not deny the existence of other gods (at least aggressively).

Hope I make sense with this.

Related to this topic, I've actually recreated the images of the gods for the Library, and I will write more in-depht articles for them. I've also included Thoric, Pseudos, Legovia and Orang Pendek among the deities.

I have been (relatively) careful to respect what Sandy has developed. I agree, the Gods should be "ignorable" as a character - Boomingham is atheist and I'd be angry at myself if I definitively said he was wrong to be. The Old Gods aren't actually Gods, even if they call themselves that. The Angels I've explained away (if not in character than in my head, at least). Zoot is a demon, not a God. Fighting the shard of Ennoc was a bit of iffy territory, I'll admit, but it could have easily been another demon or spirit or anything, really, that thought it was Ennoc. Or just some old, powerful insane dude. I think leaving it flexible is actually important.

EDIT: You may want to include Akkaba as well, Sandy. Jebs already made up a page for him, so it would literally be just a copy and paste into the Library. But those other Gods sound great too, glad to see them featured. Wouldn't want to include Amphibiannoc, would you?

Shouldn't Nessa be going 'arf arf', I mean, seriously, now she is a seal

First she was an Elf, then a Newt, now a Seal? And I'm pretty sure she was a female dog for a bit too.:tongue:

I'd really appreciate that. You know it's a bit nuts when I can't follow it.

Agreed, I wouldn't say "personalities" so much as traits (both metaphysical and emotional) that they embody--for instance, Mercutio values cleverness and ingenuity, because he embodies those traits. (Of course, whether that's a literal spirit with power over such things or just a religion of priests who encourage such traits in their followers is up to interpretation.)

Double-edged sword, though: Arthur SHOULD know that stuff, but I don't.

Awesome. :moar: Any chance I could get a preview of Mercutio?

On the subject of the Gods, I know that Some gods have their own classes, but which gods best fit which Cleric class?

Class:

Shaman: Centurus/Sem?, Tarok/Wartan, Nordic Gods, Helvetia?, Others?

Paladin: Ennoc

Sage: Etherith/Isiris, Fabula Sybylla?, Any Other God

Druid: Sylvania

Witch: Zoot/Azazot, Helvetia, Mother Danab, Mercutio, Others?

Solution: Docken might know that stuff and he might not, and I might know that stuff and I might not, and it all matches up and makes sense.

Any requests for their minifig representations?

For easy access, here's the pic Jebs did of Akkaba:

I get the feeling that DLL is going to point out that newts are amphibians.

There are seven eggs nested in the pile of gold, in the colors of red, green, blue, black, white, brown and gold. Which one would Thormanil take?

Hmm. so only room for seven dragoons? Man, I need some Shadeaux rep!!!

I'm with you on that one...fortunately, I'll (hopefully) be one step closer soon... *rubs hands together excitedly*

swils should definitely take the gold dragon. (Assuming the dragons are the same color as the egg -- it might be a wiser choice to pick the plain brown goblet.) He can use it with his armor to blind enemies from above.

Would you mind if I PM you about what I've got for Orang Pendek? Hopefully I can add to what you've got, providing it fits with what you've got.

Don't worry, it's enough for me, you, swils, Flipz and three others!
