swils Posted July 24, 2013 Posted July 24, 2013 Oh jeez, just read back and noticed the Thothwick x Thormanil... thing. Quite a blunder! Heteronormativity aside, Danny's right: it was confirmed in Q#14, during an encounter with the Sirens, that Thormanil is quite vulnerable to feminine persuasion. Quote

Chromeknight Posted July 24, 2013 Posted July 24, 2013 Yay, I finally get to quote my favorite book of all time! Thanks, for the unexpected opportunity, Zeph! Sophie's World Jostein Gaarder "There was only one question today, but it was even dumber than the previous three: Why is LEGO the most ingenious toy in the world? For a start, Sophie was not at all sure she agreed that it was. It was years since she had played with the little plastic blocks. Moreover, she could not for the life of her see what Lego could possibly have to do with philosophy. But she was a dutiful student. Rummaging on the top shelf of her closet, she found a bag full of Lego blocks of all shapes and sizes. For the first time images she began to build with them. As she worked, some ideas began to occur to her about the blocks. They werer easy to assemble, she thought. Even though they are all different, they all fit together. They are also unbreakable. She couldn't ever remember seeing a broken Lego block. All her blocks looked as bright and new as the day they were bought, many years ago. The best thing about them was that Lego she could construct any kind of object. And then she could separate the blocks and construct something new, What more could one ask of a toy? Sophie decided that Lego really could be called the most ingenious toy in the world." Quote
Flare Posted July 24, 2013 Posted July 24, 2013 Flare, are you looking for quest ideas that you could run with? I have loads of ideas but I think my QMing days are behind me, so would be happy to help you brainstorm something. Yeah, well if my current idea doesn't work out, I'll PM you! Quote
UsernameMDM Posted July 24, 2013 Posted July 24, 2013 So which colour dragon does everyone want ? Brown. Quote
Scubacarrot Posted July 24, 2013 Posted July 24, 2013 Guts isn't going to become a Dragoon, but if he would, he'd have a grey dragon. Quote
UsernameMDM Posted July 24, 2013 Posted July 24, 2013 Vipera is brown ? She is green, but I doubt Zepher would let me 'take' her. Plus, the ones in the Training Hall are still eggs. If Zeph will hand over Vipera's reins, I would gladly take her. Quote
Kintobor Posted July 24, 2013 Posted July 24, 2013 ... Oh, what, they're going to slay the kraken now? *ahem* RELEASE THE KRAKEN!!! Quote
Endgame Posted July 24, 2013 Posted July 24, 2013 (edited) Interested to see what the Kraken holds, after how the dragon got absolutely wrecked. Also, calling it: Timehenge is the three Threshold Monsters faced in a boss rush. Edited July 24, 2013 by Endgame Quote

Also, calling it: Timehenge is the three Threshold Monsters faced in a boss rush. That would be neat actually. Each of the final areas has it's own quirk or something, like a boss rush or a special effect in play. Quote
UsernameMDM Posted July 24, 2013 Posted July 24, 2013 I'm just hoping the Kraken drops some sweet sweet usable loot. Quote
Cutcobra Posted July 24, 2013 Posted July 24, 2013 And I'm just hoping Amma gifts me the wishing wand. Quote

Actually, some sort of "X Gauntlet" would be interesting to see in Heroica: Bosses from previous quests remixed into far more powerful forms (So "Wren X", as an example) faced in rapid succescion with a turn limit. Try to topple as many bosses as you can before the clock runs out! Quote

Endgame Posted July 24, 2013 Posted July 24, 2013 Of course you'd think of this. ~Insectoid Aristocrat It'd be entertaining! It'd be like a timed Fields of Glory where the possibility of death is omnipresent. Doesn't it sound fun? Should I call it "Showdown on Memory Lane" or "Total Boss?" Quote

Kintobor Posted July 24, 2013 Posted July 24, 2013 Make it an illusion. Some guy hooks the heroes up to a machine, tells them what's in store and that they're in no harm, and that depending on how well they do they will get a different reward. Have each boss have it's own limit though. Quote

Endgame Posted July 24, 2013 Posted July 24, 2013 (edited) Yeah, my original idea where something along the "Memory Shards": Enchanted, beautiful crystals that react violently to their owner's memories. It'd basically harvest the memories of the heroes and force them into an illusory fight against a boss. defeating the illusion dispels the magic and allows the heroes to trade it in and the end of the rush to get ~fabulous prizes!~ (Note: No matter what hero activates any crystal, that crystal would always contain the same boss, and would respawn when a new party comes along.) But the thing is - whats the point? I mean seriously, its very similar to the unlimited quest. The only difference is the theme and the level of difficulty. The entire thing is a timed - its more high score based to get as far into the memory gauntlet as possible, as compared to the fields. Edited July 24, 2013 by Endgame Quote

Endgame Posted July 24, 2013 Posted July 24, 2013 I'd say it's fine on a quest, just not a permanent thing like the fields. That was my idea, yes. The sign-ups would only appear sporadically, and it does have an end - however, I highly doubt that the first party who drops in would be able to blitz through the entire gauntlet. Quote
