herrJJ Posted August 4, 2013 Posted August 4, 2013 I just noticed when I updated the Index with the new quests that we have been running almost exactly 40 quests per year in this game so far. That means we should hit Quest#100 some time this winter. Yay Do I see an upcoming special event here? Quote
Zepher Posted August 4, 2013 Posted August 4, 2013 Oh my, it seems that Nerwen and I have gotten ourselves into quite a pickle. Quote
Pandora Posted August 4, 2013 Posted August 4, 2013 Pfft, Nerwen will see Boomingham right, don't worry. Quote
herrJJ Posted August 5, 2013 Posted August 5, 2013 You guys are alright? It has been a bit quiet the last time #69 Quote
CMP Posted August 5, 2013 Posted August 5, 2013 You guys are alright? It has been a bit quiet the last time #69 You can go ahead and post a battle order/actions if you'd like. Must be a busy weekend for everyone. Quote

herrJJ Posted August 5, 2013 Posted August 5, 2013 I made up something in my mind. It might not be the best approach but the only one I could think of As for now there is a decision need to be made by a more experienced player than me. Quote

Looks like it was good Get revived, KO Pretzel, finish battle. WBD, as we can talk here in ooc. How is my theory flawed? The Special of the fishes clearly states that the new enemy replaces the old (therefor full HP). So the negative effects would be gone as well IMO. Then we would face an Level 240 8000/8000 HP enemy just because we want to save bones? Edited August 5, 2013 by PsyKater Quote
Zepher Posted August 5, 2013 Posted August 5, 2013 BD, JimBee, you've got to post when you come online. I see you guys lurking (or even posting in your own quests) but not in 72! People are waiting on you, and I hate keeping others behind. Besides that, I'd really like to finish this quest before I prepare to head back to college. Sorry, not trying to be a nuisance, but want to keep things chugging. If you're bored, tell me and we'll see if I can liven up the experience for you. Quote

I know we can tanks some of the hits, which is why I'm not having anyone attacking the Demon Ray, however I'm generally not a big fan of sitting back and waiting for the enemy to die when there isn't any danger in hitting them in the first place. I don't want anyone who's attacking Messie early in the battle order because of the chance of confusion, so I can't put Hoke or Namyrra early on to tank the bigger fish's hits. Your strategy is also valid, but it's not going to make much of a difference either way. Quote
PsyKater Posted August 5, 2013 Posted August 5, 2013 Okay, I didn't think about the sealed. I just read "Keep those things sealed" and went all crazy. Just one thing: We wouldn't sit back, we would attack Messie. So we would get rid of her faster. Bigger Fish B and C are currently Sealed, so there isn't any danger of them being replaced this round. Yep, but I'd prefer only those with fire spells or elemental weapons do the attacking, just to be safe. Quote
PsyKater Posted August 5, 2013 Posted August 5, 2013 Alright, makes sense Can Skrall give Amma a reason to change her mind? Quote
UsernameMDM Posted August 5, 2013 Posted August 5, 2013 Alright, makes sense Can Skrall give Amma a reason to change her mind? Yeah - don't slow down the battle for everyone else so you can role play. Quote
Dannylonglegs Posted August 5, 2013 Posted August 5, 2013 OK, I was gone a little longer than just Saturday, but I'm back now, and I'll be updating things shortly. Sorry for the wait everyone! ~Insectoid Aristocrat Quote
Scorpiox Posted August 5, 2013 Posted August 5, 2013 Yeah - don't slow down the battle for everyone else so you can role play. If it's just a case of Skrall in-character asking Amma to change her plans, I can't see anything that could possibly be wrong with that. Quote

Capt.JohnPaul Posted August 5, 2013 Posted August 5, 2013 Quest #80- I'll move you guys on either later tonight or tomorrow morning. I just want to give posades and zakura a chance to chime in or see if they have any questions. Quote
Palathadric Posted August 5, 2013 Posted August 5, 2013 You guys are alright? It has been a bit quiet the last time #69 Not really, although I'm getting better. Thanks for managing things while we were away. ... Looks like it was good Get revived, KO Pretzel, finish battle. ....Even though you knocked out Pretzel. Although, thinking about it, this is the perfect chance for Pretzel to go Shaman. I just don't know if I want him to. Jacob and Christian! Quote
Kintobor Posted August 5, 2013 Posted August 5, 2013 And they're gone as quickly as they appeared. Time for the quest to kick into action! I assure, 78's about to go into a whole world of awesome with it's plot. The prison, with the exception of the demolished East wing is accessible to the party, and the mechanics are going to actually try and encourage clever roleplaying. In other words, what characters say and do are going to affect what happens in the prison as if it was one huge environment. It's going to be pretty cool! Quote
Palathadric Posted August 5, 2013 Posted August 5, 2013 I love Jeaux's idea with the flies. Making the best out of nothing really. Quote

Chromeknight Posted August 6, 2013 Posted August 6, 2013 Fun questions to mull over while I'm gone: Also, party members: what party sizes have been the most/least common? I feel like 4 person parties are rarely used. 6 and 8 person parties seem common. Anyone feel like doing some counts on that? Your feeling is a little off base. Fours are much more common than eights, but slightly less common than sixes Here are the counts. Party of two; one quest; #41. Party of three; eighteen quests; #6, 22, 33, 34, 37, 39, 42, 45, 46, 47, 49, 54, 58, 60, 63, 71, 74, 76. Party of four; fifteen quests; #10, 14, 15, 23, 27, 31, 36, 43, 51, 64, 65, 68, 72, 78, 80. Party of five; twenty two quests; #8, 11, 12, 16, 21, 24, 25, 26, 28, 30, 32, 35, 38, 56, 57, 59, 61, 62, 67, 69, 70, 73. Party of six; seventeen quests; #1, 2, 3, 5, 9, 13, 18, 19, 20, 29, 40, 48, 50, 52, 55, 75, 77. Party of eight; three quests; #4, 7, 17. Party of nine; two quests; #53, 66. Party of seventeen; one quest; #44. Interestingly there's never been a party of seven. The Dastan finale produced a group of fifteen PCs. Quote
Sandy Posted August 6, 2013 Author Posted August 6, 2013 Quest#74 just took a classy turn. Blame joeshmoe, it was his idea and I just went along with it... Quote
